  1. My family and I just came back from our cruise this past weekend. We did the trikes tour and I highly recommend this. A whole lot of fun in the sun. The tour guides were great.

We are not bikers, and still loved it.

  2. Bored?!? On Liberty? Oh, my, I don't think so! I have 2 teen girls, and even if they don't GO on the Flowrider, they will be there, oh yes, they will be there! ;)

In addition to the eye candy and hook ups happening at the Flowrider, there is Karoke, ping pong, shopping, windjammer, teen take over night club nights, and hanging by the pool. Bored? mini golf, rock climbing (and if they aren't the sporty types, do they like watching the sporty types? See Flowrider)

So Ok, my girls are a bit more bookish and geeky than most teens; and I was expecting them to be bored at times since they aren't super social, but ah, no, we only saw them for shore excursions and dinner:D

They are gonna have a blast; and my advice have a conversation about rules and expectations BEFORE you cruise! At a minimum - emphasize the Cruise line rules , and anything additional you are expecting from their behavior. Have fun on your first cruise with DD!

(I have a pic of my list of rules for older teens in my Allure Review linked in my signature)

FamilygoBoston - love how the list of rules started out, but the left margin on some of the paragraphs towards the end were not photographed. Would you be able to provide the list of rules in another manner? Much appreciated. (By the way, what a fabulous, comprehensive review of your Allure cruise.)

  3. This issue also happened to me this week. My balance showed the amount due taking into account the Visa points reward. Then when I clicked on the my payments tab, it suddenly went to the total amount due without the reward. I've been waiting for RCCL to resolve the issue without my contacting them. So, I guess I'll give them another 2 weeks before calling (my cruise isn't until the summer, so in no need to promptly resolve).

  4. Finally – it’s cruise day!! Check out for the hotel was 12pm and since I knew rooms wouldn’t be ready until 1pm, I stayed at the hotel right until 12, but of course, I woke up at 9am! I was too excited that I was finally going on my third solo cruise. My last solo cruise was in January 2012, so I was more than overdue for this exciting adventure.

The taxi ride in total was $22 before tip and including my two pieces of luggage. I dropped off my bags with the porters and when I mean I breezed through check in, I breezed through check in.
The longest part of the process was picking out my two bottles of wine at the duty free shop that is right beside the security gates.
There was no line for any part of the process, which was amazing. Overall, from the time I got out of the taxi to taking a seat in the Windjammer café, it definitely took less than 30 minutes.

I was able to make arrangements with a Roll Call member who doesn’t drink to get two additional bottles of wine and for this reason, my overall bill was extremely light, so thanks again! So, once my lunch was over, I stopped by their cabin to pick up the bottles and then headed to my cabin.
I was in cabin 2001 and I really enjoyed this cabin for a variety of reasons. One, it wasn’t attached to any other rooms, so I didn’t have to worry about any noises. Well, the room was surrounded by the staff hallways, so every once in awhile I heard something, but nothing too bad. Everytime I ordered room service, I heard when they were coming, so that was a nice perk so I knew when to get decent! :p Second, for 4 of the 5 ports, the disembarkation was just down the hall, so I didn’t have to worry about waiting for an elevator when coming back on the ship, I’d just walk down the hall to my room. I’d book this room again in a heartbeat.

Can you tell me more about this "two bottles of wine" reference? Is this something specific to cruising out of San Juan? Thanks.

  5. This change is really upsetting. Been saving my points up for years to try and get two cruises for my family of four. Was looking to book it on a class of ships we've never cruised on before - Oasis or now Quantum. Now that we've almost reached that goal, they're taking it away.

    Okay, enough whining.

Does anybody know whether I could combine a free cruise for two with a free companion fare - so this way I only have to pay for one?

  6. No problem everyone!

I actually had already typed it all out to go in the Cruise Manual I am mailing to all of our wedding guests coming on the Epic with us, so it was easy - just cut and paste!

For any of you who may have downloaded the Powerpoint Presentation I posted awhile back with all of the pics of the Epic organized - - I have updated it with new pictures and with the new menus I have. If anyone is interested, I would be happy to post the link to download it again...

    Very interested. Thank you.

  7. Hi Radio,

Just caught up (was on page 5, but had to go to a conference!)

Great pictures (as always!) When you're taking pics of 1404, could you possibly take pics of 1400? We were in that stateroom and would love one of your great shots. It was the best D1 stateroom we have ever had!

Enjoy your last days at sea...I am so envious!

I would love to see pics of 1400 as well. We're going to be in that stateroom in a few weeks.
