  1. Yeah, me too! I found out that the food made me gain weight! :p

I found that the air con in the cabin shrunk my clothes.

Unfortunately it seems to happen on all cruise ships I've been on, the cruise lines are clearly all conspiring against me. Who can I sue!

  2. We've done both. Given you've already done the Med, I'd chose the Baltic. Both are spectacular, but you shouldn't miss St. Petersburg. It was the highlight of our Baltic cruise.

I have to agree with Crystabel, and May is usually a good time of year in the Baltic, and all the ports especially Tallin and Warnamunde, are well worth a visit.

  3. Others have posted some good advice, thin layers and waterproofs, I would just like to add that the average temp in Norway in March is 0 degrees C so it's likely to be warmer than that during the day although the wind chill will affect that.

When we did it in October our going ashore gear consisted of thin (cheap) thermals, T shirt, fleece and wind proof/waterproof jacket.

  4. Last time we did this we caught a bus, they ran every hour and cost about 15€ each way. I think we found the details etc at the local tourist information place close to where the ship shuttle bus dropped us of.

  5. Having been on RC ships a few times over the last decade or so I have to agree with the OP that the 'nickel and dimming' does seem to have got a lot worse over the years and RC does seem to be more aggressive at it than others we have been on.
