Why doesn't RC or any line give a reduction to the single supplement to attract solo cruisers? The current promotion of 50% off second guest doesn't seem to apply to solo cruisers.

I thought I was crazy, I have the same problem using firefox. I get a blank page. I can access using internet explorer.

Just checking about that service charge for using your room card for a cash advance. I know they charge a fee if you want an advance at a table game but I thought you could draw money at a slot machine from your room account without the fee. I have definitely done this before - but maybe it was a few years ago or maybe it was on Carnival... Could you please reconfirm your understanding of the current policy? Thanks!

Still pay the 3% if you get cash from the cage or through a machine.

Under the current promo, can the non-refundable OBC be used to pay the daily tips?

Can you use the shareholder credit with CAS booking?
-
Just off the Gem two weeks ago and no problem asking the steward to separate the beds.

Lox was not on the buffet on the Gem recently.

If you book through CAS can you get the shareholder credit?
Thanks,

Curiosity I have an offer for a 10 day cruise in January,2017, out of NY. Comp ocean view for $440 per person and $230 for an upgrade to a balcony. Not through CAS but through a cruise broker that I have dealt with in the past. How does that rate compare?
Thanks,

We had our 7 year old granddaughter on the Breakaway last year and they had a blast. Rock climbing wall, ropes course, hidden trampoline at the back of the ship. They enjoyed eating with us in the restaurants. Your son will have a great time.:)

I think that you will find that one meal will use up the $50 dinning credit.

I was also on this sailing. The seas were so bad that we missed the M & G. My hubby and our daughter were both sick. I thought the weather was pretty good in port though, other then the rainy morning we had in tortula.
as for us, This was our first NCL Cruise (we have been on many carnival and 1 disney), and we had a great time. We even bought a Cruise next certificate. Our room steward was great, as was the kids club. But I agree with the original poster. There was just something off about this cruise. There were 3 or 4 staff that stood out on this cruise but most of the crew just wasn't that out of your way nice that I am used to on cruise. I mean no one was rude or anything and everyone was working hard. But something was missing from what I am used to on a cruise. 1 example I will give. We went to O'sheehan 1 day, we ordered our food and we got it. We waited and waited and waited about 30 minutes for our waiter to come back to order dessert and another drink, he never came back, we finally gave up and left. Another example, we asked our waiter one night at dinner about ordering drinks, he said he would send a bartender, same thing we waited and waited. No one ever came. finally after we were finish with our entree, the waiter offered to go get our drinks.
It was not one big thing that was off on this cruise but several small things. We went to the CAS cocktail party at the start of the cruise and they had no food. We sent to O'Sheehan's once and found the service slow so we never went back. I am a big guy so I always ask for a table rather than a booth. Sure enough when we sent to O'Sheenhan's I ask for a table for two and the maitre'd takes us to a booth. The Meet and Greet was nice and they had plenty of food and all of the Officers were there. Thanks to Little Mermaid for organizing. Sorry we were unable to go on the St Marteen excursion.

We have cruised in January for the last 4 years and this was the roughest it has been. The ship was rocking and rolling going south for a day and a half and also going north when we left Tortola for a day and a half. This was also some of the worst weather that we experience on the Islands, cloudy or overcast for several of the island.
The Gem came through the dry dock in really nice shape. Muted earth tones in several of the venues. unfortunately the area by Le Bistro needs to be larger to accommodate the people listening to the music played there.
There was something off about this cruise, had to pin point what it was. There was the time I ordered iced tea without lemon in the dining room and the waiter came back to tell me they had no lemon, ok by me. All of the pay restaurant were a la carte pricing, don't know how it worked with any of the meal plans. I have read about how NCL counts their nickels and dimes. Well this time we experienced it, my wife and I are both platinum and when we went to Le Bistro for dinner you could only order an appetizer or a soup, but not both, along with the entree. How cheap can NCL get for their frequent cruisers.
Didn't go to any of the shows so I can't comment. Casino was pleasant but not profitable. A lot of smoke there. Buffet was the normal problems with finding a table.
As they say a day at sea beats going to work.

Why not send them to dinner with the grandkids at a specialty restaurant?

The tour company may not give you the experience that you expect because they are concerned with getting you back on time.

Two weeks ago on the Breakaway I see a debit and credit of $2.50 for bottled water. I don't drink alcohol, does the $2.50 include the 18% or not?

We were off the Breakaway. There were 7 of us in three cabins, 2 balconies and an inside in the same general area. On paper these three cabins could accommodate 10 people. We were in 11882 and 11884 and 11671. All of them were by the rear elevators, quiet and convenient to everything but the theater. The kids with us were based in Bliss lounge on deck 7, 6 to 8 year old group. for our needs these cabins by the rear elevators were ideal. The kids had a ball rock climbing, trampoline, ropes course, zip line and water slides. I found the food to be excellent in all of the venues. Enjoy:)

We were in cabin 11884 a starboard balcony, very close to the rear elevators. As mentioned starboard for a view of the Statue of Liberty and port side for the fireworks. In Bermuda we faced the old fort and dockyard.
Enjoy:)

What kind of bus tokens are you talking about?
What bus?? Which itinerary? What city or country??
I think the reason you haven't gotten an answer is because we don't know what you are referring to.
Bermuda.

Thank you for your posting.:)

original cruise was for June 28, 2015.

My TA received an email from NCL offering to upgrade us from two balconies and an inside to two mini-suites and a balcony if we switch our cruise to the prior week on the Breakaway.
Any thoughts why?
Thanks,

I agree with everything everyone says but I wish the cruise lines would wake up to an untapped market out there. NCL has their solo cabins but they are more expensive than an interior cabin with a 200% single supplement. Just venting.
