Yes, there was a taxi stand at the Port and we took one straight to Balneario. I believe it was 15 euros total and the drive was about 15 minutes. Yes, the restaurant took credit cards. I had fish entree but my friend had a salad. The menu was pretty varied and different price points depending on your preference. There was also a woman doing massages on the beach, if that was of interest.

Excellent thank you - I made a request for a reservation, will hopefully not be full yet as it is Monday we will be there!  😲

We had a really nice day at Balneario Illetas. We arrived early and they gave us our selection of chairs in the roped off area.  We had to remind them to bring the water/fruit but no big deal. The attendant made us a lunch reservation at their restaurant and called us a taxi to take us back to the port.  There was a gelato stand too and 1 cute shop that I popped into and bought a bracelet. We left by 3pm so I think it was great for the value of being there roughly 5 hours. But it may not be as private as Puro as there are non-paid sections on this section of the beach with people even just laying out on towels on the sand. But that didn't bother me as I had a chair facing the sea and the sun.  Oh and the water was nice. You could walk out far before it got deep and there wasn't waves. So would be great if you had kids too.

From the ship, did you just take a taxi straight to Balneario also?  Cost?  How long did the drive take?  Also, did they take a credit card at the restaurant or just cash?  Thanks much

Thanks! We have decided to go to Balneario Illetas.  For future reference, premium sun bed´s price is 28€ per person and includes towel rental, sunshade, mineral water and fruit salad. You pay upon arrival. They confirmed the reservation quickly via email.   This looks like a nice destination (right next to Purobeach) and much cheaper considering we'd only be able to enjoy the amenities until mid-afternoon. And the menu for the restaurant looks decent too! 🙂

How was your experience at Balneario Illetas?  We are currently booked at Puro for this coming Monday, but thinking of changing to Balneario because we can get in an hour earlier than Puro and with a short day in Mallorca anyway, trying to make the most of it.

  4. Such great info in this thread!  We will be doing these 4 tours - Best of Rome, Best of Florence and Pisa, Pompeii, Sorrento and Amalfi Coast, and MARSEILLE, AIX-EN-PROVENCE & CASSIS.  I know that covered shoulders and knees along with shoes, not sandals, is the requirement for the Vatican in Rome.  Anywhere else we need to be concerned about wearing shorts and a tee?  Our weather outlook for next week is looking pretty warm still.  THANKS!

Not an easy one to answer as the Spanish don't really do breakfast and you will have to be back to the ship by 3/3.30 so you would not have much time on the beach.

Since nothing opens here until 9.30 I think you will have to make a choice beach or the city.

Sorry I cannot think of anything romantic  beach wise as this stilĺ the tourist season  and  the beaches will be crowded for peace and quiet  try the Puro Beach club in Illetas.

If you deceid on the town there plenty of places for a coffee and an ensmada my choice is a chain called cappuccino  they have a branch at the top of the town in the street  that is at the north end of the Paca Mayor in an old palace .

I have read things about taxis not being readily available from PuroBeach to get back to the ship.  Which bus takes you back from there, and how far is the walk from PuroBeach?

  6. Greetings - we will be on the huge Oasis of the Seas in Mallorca in September.  8am-4pm.  I know from reading many threads, that the walk from the ship to the cathedral is quite long.  Since we are in early, we'd really like to have breakfast somewhere that has local food/culture.  Recommendations of something not-touristy for breakfast?  From there, we'd like a beach, most beautiful one, to relax as it's our HONEYMOON!  Thanks for the advice!

  7. Yes it's a pod-filter system in the balconies, however, ours were made by lavazza... That was the name on the wrappers.

Just read your great review of the Getaway... thank you for all the GREAT info. Wondering which night was "formal" night for you? Also I know they have some White Hot Party. Which evening was that also?

    Thanks in advance!
