Thanks for the polite note. I don't eat beef or pork anything :D
I have never missed cleaning that gloppy, gross pork fat off my pans. Turkey bacon gives off almost no fat. I have to use PAM just to keep it from sticking. Sounds like they have turkey sausage on board so that will be great.
Thanks!
Yeah I will be eating my share of turkey sausage as well.
I do agree that turkey bacon is extremely lean. Turkey sausage is not as lean but still more lean than pork or beef. Enjoy your cruise!!!

We were on the Dream almost a year ago now :( Sept 13-20, 2015
The doors were metal and we used a magnetic board on ours. No problems what so ever.

I also do not eat pork for religious reasons.
To the OP. Have you ever had the chance to have beef bacon?
It is really good. More fatty than turkey but very tasty. It is very hard to find. Some Wal-marts carry it as I have family that can get it at one in AL but here in my area they do not. But if you ever get a chance give it a try.
I have had turkey sausage and it is very tasty. I prefer it over turkey bacon really.

We too used Victor Bodden Tours. They were wonderful. Price is very good and they do whatever you want to do. If you simply want a beach day Bananarama has a good deal as well. We used Victor Bodden when we were there last year and we did an island tour, horse back riding, then glass bottom boat ride and ended the day at the beach at Bananarama. Both Victor Bodden and Bananarama were great and I would recommend either one. We never felt unsafe or anything.

I called NCL to change our booking. We had booked with 3rd guest free and shore credits. We decided we were not going to use the shore credits and decided to bite the bullet and pay for the 18% gratuity on the drink package (9 day cruise so it adds up). They did not give me any problem at all. It took her maybe a min or two to make the change. Logged into my account on line and showed everything correct right away.
My guess--they were getting more money from us instead of losing money so of course they were willing to help. In your case I bet they CAN do they same thing but they don't WANT to because they are losing money.

Thank you Rocklinmom for the info.

OK I am new to all this. Been on one Carnival Cruise. Looking at a Dec 2017 cruise on NCL.
What do you mean by put a hold on it on July 31 and wait until Aug 1 to see if you want to confirm?
How do you do that? Do you have to pay the deposit? Is that something you can do on NCL website? Or through a TA?
Also, Once I book and pay the deposit, If I need to cancel what will I be out? The deposit? I see on the website the cancellation policy starts on 89 days prior to sail date. Does that mean no cancellation fees at 90+ days from sail date?
Thanks in advance for all your help.

We leave on the dream this Sunday!!! We can't wait.

We will be bringing Soda and pb and crackers. We are bringing the pb and crackers for port. We may want a snack on the horse trail ride or something and not want to take time to try and find something. Of course we will eat a meal in port but we like to snake between meals at times too.

My wife and I are leaving on the Dream in Sept. So looking forward to our first cruise. Looking forward to hearing all about it before we leave.

Hello all. We are thinking of a cruise on the Dawn out of N.O. in Dec. Me, my wife and two 13 y.o girls. Would we manage in a standard inside cabin? The pics I have seen seem that would be snug. Has anyone used a 4 person inside cabin? I would love to hear how it went.

Thank you all for the input. I did find a review of the Dawn by a teen. She said she enjoyed so we are planning to book this cruise after we return from the CCL Dream in Sept if all goes well. Thanks again!! :)

Those do somewhat sound familiar. I think there were others but I can't remember. But thanks for the help.

I am sure that these are just minor cutbacks--I am just say--its just my kind of luck-I get on board something and it just goes down hill

OK, So I have a cruise booked on the Dream in Sept. When I booked it I read all these great reviews of Carnival and the Dream and robes and chocolates and all the wonderful extras they have to offer. Now as it gets closer to cruise time I am reading how many extras are going away. It seems I picked a bad time to start cruising. :(

We are thinking about taking a winter cruise in Dec '16 out on NOLA. It will be 2 adults and 2 13 yo girls. Is the Dawn a good ship for teen girls or are they going to get bored easily? What activities are there to do on sea days both for them and us?

I am loving your review so far. We are sailing on the Dream in Sept. We can't wait!!! It is our first cruise. I look forward to the rest of your review.

I read somewhere a tip using a soda can koozie. But of course I have forgotten it and now I can't find it. Anyone know what this tip was? Or have any other useful tips for first time cruisers?

Thanks so much for your review. My wife and I leave on the Dream on Sept 13,2015. And we have room 7204 so your pics of the room were very nice to see. We now know what to expect. This will be our very first cruise. We are looking forward to it even more after seeing all your pics. Thanks again!!! Justin

I saw that you had booked this cabin in the past. How was it? My wife and I, along with my daughter (14yo at time of sailing) have book this cabin.
