  1. I have actually seen many occasions where they have let 11 year olds into circle c. On my most recent cruise my DD met a friend, who was 13, and she had an 11 year old cousin who was let into circle c so they could be together. Since your 11 y/o is almost 12 and has a sibling in circle c they should allow you to change groups from what I have experienced. The final decision still remains up to the circle c counselor, but either way your kids should have a blast.

  2. She is not any busier than any other carnival ships. We never had to wait for YTD and was always able to find seats at the buffet, and if the buffet was busy you could always go to Havana bar and eat there since it was never busy. Also on the last 2 sea days I got up to the lido deck at around 12:30 and was able to get 2 deck chairs right by the hot tub (a third one was available one day but I didn't need it)!! Could've just been luck but it happened twice![emoji4] And did I mention this was in the middle of July?

  3. You remember drink prices? How long of a taxi ride was it and was it easy to get a cab back to port? Thanks for sharing

I don't remember drink prices and the taxi ride was about 25 min long and was beautiful, as I mentioned earlier. As for the cab back to the port our cab driver asked us (and the other group in our cab) how long we would be there right when we arrived (all the taxi drivers have their own spot to wait at the beach for their group). We both told him a couple of hours, and he asked for a time. We weren't sure what time since we just got there so we like 3:30. When 3:30 came neither us or the other group were ready to leave so we asked for another 30 min and he said ok. When we were ready we went to go find him and headed back to the port.

  4. For my kids cruising is all about making friends and being in the teens club (age 14 & 16). We have so far only done Caribbean cruises and have been on some of the largest ships (allure and freedom ots, carnival breeze, Disney fantasy) so they always are surrounded by many kids/teens their age and don't seem to have a problem making friends. On the other hand, I've have seen enough of the Caribbean and want to cruise in Europe but my kids are afraid that their wont be as many kids on board. Does anyone have experience on European cruises with teens, were there many kids on board, and were your teens able to make friends.

  5. They also have them in the photo area for free with purchase of a photo. We got 2 of them in June, have the metal clip and plastic sleeve attached. We just removed plastic sleeve and attached clip through hole in S&S card and wore it around our neck. Plan to take them on the next cruise, worked great (free). Also noticed our S&S cards already had the hole punched in them when we boarded the Glory. Anybody know if this is fleet wide?

Just off sunshine and our cards were hole punched when they handed them to us. Other people I met onboard said they had to go to guest services/casino to get their cards hole punched. Not sure why some get it and not others.

  6. Just got back from our cruise that visited st kitts and we it was our favorite port!! We got off the ship and asked the lady at the information desk for the best beach and she told us cockleshell beach (which is where the reggae beach bar is). It was $7 per person for a taxi each way and it was totally worth it because of the beautiful views. But the beach it self wasn't to busy and the water was beautiful. You can also rent jet skis, paddle boards, kayaks, snorkel gear, etc. Definitely will be going back there when/if I got back to st. Kitts

  7. Stayed in 10287 on breeze and loved it!!! Favorite room I've ever had and no problems with noise. Only time noise can be a problem is if you want to relax on your balcony you can hear the music by the pool but once your inside you don't hear a thing. Also there is a secret door that I didn't discover until the middle of my cruise that leads you right to the pool.

  8. On Wednesday, July 15th, Air France is flying a huge Airbus A340 into St. Maarten, due at 2:00 PM.

Note that these flights regularly arrive MUCH earlier than scheduled.

To get a general feel for what flights are usually scheduled, see my recent post to mividajp about using Joyce's website. There are other sites that do the same, as well.

I would love to see that one but we are going to be there on July 16 :( . Just one day off!!!

  9. We are going to be in st Martin on the carnival sunshine in a few weeks and wanted to visit maho beach. I was wondering how often the planes come because we probably aren't going to spend a lot of time there. If anyone has an plane schedule that would be awesome. Also if anyone would like to share what there experiences at maho were like I would love to hear them!

  10. We're in an interior on Lido, on the Breeze, 10289. Right across the hall from your room and loved it so much that we have the same location on the Sunshine in September. Room 9219. Literally steps through the secret door to Lido. That's where we spent most of our time and the convenience to our room was incredible.

I tried to get that same room on Sunshine for this July but as usual booked last minute and all the Lido deck rooms were sold out which was disappointing, so instead we booked deck 8 so we could still be close to Lido. I've heard complaints about noise being right under the Lido but I guess I'll see how it goes!

  11. Cons- None[emoji1]

I had a lido balcony room on Breeze (room #10287) a few years ago and ever since then I have tried to get a lido room on every cruise I go one (but since we book last minute we haven't been able to snag one since[emoji26]). The locations is so convenient and I never had any problems with noise. Also kind of a funny side note is that if someone in my family was taking up the bathroom we could just walk to the public restroom by the pool[emoji23]!!!! (and this happened many times) And as someone mentioned earlier if you have a room on midship there is a secret door that is honestly 2 steps from the door that leads you outside.

  12. It's lots of fun!! My kids love it and there is most likely an even mix of ages. If you do decide to go make sure you go the first night right after dinner, as that is when it is easiest to make friends. As for the activities most kids make friends and ignore the activities and just hang out around the ship. Hope you enjoy your cruise!!

  13. I have cruised Carnival many times and have always enjoyed it. But last year over Memorial Day weekend I cruised on Sensation for 4 days and noticed some wild crowds. There wasn't any fights (fights are very rare btw) but on multiple occasions I saw drunk college kids and people passed out in the hallways. The cruise was still enjoyable but I probably won't repeat that sailing. So if I were you I would avoid cheap, short sailings during spring break or summer.

  14. Somewhat off topic, but reading this board reminded me of a zip lining excursion we did in Falmouth while on a royal Caribbean cruise. (pretty sure that the excursion is closer to Ocho Rios) It was the chukka zip line excursion (can't remember exact name, sorry!) and it was a blast!!! My family loved it and I would recommend it, if your on the risky side and would be willing to go on 10 zip lines:)

  15. So what exactly is Seuss at Sea?? I was looking at pictures of people's cruises and noticed many Dr Seuss things. I saw some Seuss inspired meals and were wondering was those were. Anyone have any information on what it is?
