  1. We will be at Livorno with three daughters (14,12,10) and currently booked to see Cique Terre in late May 2024.

Earlier in that week we will see Amalfi coast... are the towns too similar?  Also, the 2 hour drive to CT from Livorno port is something to consider.

Would anyone have any ideas on what to do in Livorno with the family or validate that Cinque Terra would be a good idea?

We see Rome the day prior so we were considering alternatives to Florence because Rome will be a big city experience.

We appreciate any insight you may be able to provide 🙂

Been on all the above, I feel and the kids confirm they like Celebrity's club the best. Currently ages 11 and 9 but have been on multiple lines, multiple times from age 1. Only minor gripe is they keep the age groups in the category, meaning if the kids want to be together they may not be able to based on the ages of separation between the programs. I attached a flyer I found online, not sure how old it is, but looks like I remember. We are heading out again next Friday for a 9 night ABC Southern Carib. I can report if any changes when we return.

Many thanks.  I would appreciate the update after you return.   Happy sailing!

  3. We are an semi-avid cruising family - wife and I have 3 daughters (9,7,6).  We have been on NCL, RCI, and DCL with the kids.  Wife and I started on celebrity pre-kids LOVED it and now have a spring break cruise booked on Celebrity.  Does anyone have feedback on their experience with the Camp@Sea programs?

They seem to be hit or miss depending on the cruise line/time of year... and I very much hope Celebrity has an engaging one - maybe even a bit more attention for each kid, anticipating not many on the boat compared to the other lines.

Thanks in advance for your experiences.

  4. My wife and I are bringing our 3 young daughters (9,7,5) on Symphony in June... we have been on many cruises and have had the 'early' seating.  Our booking defaulted to 'my time dining'.  I read the description stating to make daily reservations at a time of our choosing.

It seems the benefits of the standard times would be having a consistent waitstaff, table, maybe food quality, etc... is this still offered and true?

Similarly, my time is more flexible but is there downside I don't realize?  Wait times at peak, etc?

Any context would be helpful... Thanks!

  5. Three adult women stayed in 2433 -- FH deluxe suite cove balcony -- disembarking inaugural cruise this a.m. Tons of room. Check deck plan to see what is above you. 2433 is underneath galley and it thumps and thunders and crashes all hours day and night.

I am booked in 2431 on 12/3 and that looks like it is next door to your cabin. Was the noise a big issue on your experience? We have 3 kids in the room with us so this was the only room that fit us... and there are no other rooma available on that sailing... we are generally not too bothered by a little noise but if it is "wake you up" noisy that is an issue.

  6. Has anyone heard of noise issues in the family harbor suites under the galley? I'm booked in a family harbor suite on 12/3 which appears to be under the start of the galley and have read some pretty specific noise issues on other boats.

My hope is carnival was thoughtful about the premium room category directly under the kitchen and insulated more... interested in perspective and feedback here.

  7. Great feedback. Thank you.

    Yes, apples to apples"ish".

The Vista would be 8 day southern carribean disney fantasy is standard 7 day eastern itinerary. I've been to most of the eastern and western carribean ports, but the southern looks exciting.

Also, the Vista would be in a suite with family harbor access and the disney fantasy would be a verandah.

So from what we are hearing our whole dilemma is suite/better room and better itinerary or better programming for families and better service.

I have to wonder how the family area will be on vista. Also, the cove balcony sounds intriguing.. many people on here say great things about the cove.

  8. Thank you for the responses. Good point on clarifying which DCL ship... our choices are fantasy or magic. Both are similar price for the time we are looking at.

Yes, the Vista is new (and the room category is new also) my questions are really about CCL with young families and also if others have compared experiences with suites on CCL v. balcony on DCL fantasy or similar.

For us, we really frequent disney world and enjoy the level of service and experience which we hear translates to their cruises very well. The reason we have not gone prior on DCL has been price. We have been on many lines prior to kids, not exclusive to one. DCL has always been priced at a premium to us. Now that we are in the market for 5 people in a room, DCL and suites on other lines makes a lot more sense.

  9. My wife, myself, and 3 daughters (6,4,3) are considering the family harbor suite on vista. Only hesitation is it is almost identical price for DCL veranda and we have always wanted to sail DCL. We just came off NCL escape and loved it, but wished there was a bit more kids amenities for our situation (hence the family suite/dcl thought).

We have sailed carnival without kids (freedom) and had a great time.

    My two questions are

    1. does anyone have experience on both lines with young children to lend some perspective?

    2. We live in FL and love to go to disney often... and the carnival itnerary and accommodations look amazing ... simply put- Vista suite or DCL veranda?
