  1. DH has a Pride Victory 10 3 wheel, which is a full sized scooter and rated for up to 400 pounds. This is not what is considered a "travel" scooter, but we have traveled with it.

Hi Schoifmom. Thank you for this info! Can you tell me any more about travelling with this scooter? Do airlines allow it? Does he drive it right up to the plane and then they check it? What about the cruise lines...any issues with it there? Sorry for the 3rd degree! I didnt know one could travel with a regular sized scooter and this is such good news to me! I really do appreciate any advice you care to share. Thanks again.

  2. Last year my friend reserved a scooter with them on a Carnival cruise. It was not in the cabin when we arrived so we called them. They said it had been delivered 2 hours before. We asked the cabin steward if they moved it and he said it was never there. We called Guest Services to see if they knew where it was. They knew nothing. So we called SNAS again. They insisted it was there. We are now getting worried that it would not show up before we sailed. They said they would send someone with another one. We waited and called them back. They said it had been delivered to the cabin. We were sitting in the cabin with the door open and no one came with a scooter. Finally after a total of 8 phone calls to them a scooter showed up. BTW they through all of this they never called us back as they had said they would. Never again. I have convinced them to just buy one of their own. The cost of 2 rentals will pay for it. And he will have it to use it everywhere.

You state that the cost of 2 rentals will pay for buying one himself. Can you please tell me where you can buy a scooter for that price? Most travel scooters are around $3000 and up in Canada. If I can get one much cheaper, that would be awesome. Thanks.

  3. DH has traveled with a larger scooter. The airlines have elevators (think freight elevator) that they can use to take the scooter from the jetway to the tarmac to be loaded into the plane. Reverse on arrival.

When you say a larger scooter, which one do you mean? I need to get a larger scooter that is suitable for travel. Thanks for any help you can give.

  4. As said before...it's all about priorities! Now for me, I have to fly to a port so the expenses can add up quickly, but if I lived within driving distance to a port, I'd be cruising 3 or 4 times a year! I work hard and value my vacation time! And like others have said, I don't go to clubs, I don't spend alot of money on entertainment so this is my "fun money"!

Don't feel guilty! If you can afford it, then you've earned it!:)

  5. Tortola....the beach.....me wearing a tankini....in the water.....big wave.....sent me into a backward summersault....took my 500 dollar prescription Ray Bans and my tankini bottom with it. I'm kneeling in the water thinking.."do I go after my Ray Bans or my bottoms"? Dignity won out and I got the bottoms, but lost the sunglasses. Climbed out of the water and walked up to my beach chair where the elderly couple beside us said..."that was some wave huh?" Then they snickered......they saw it all.....my dignity returned when I found out they were on a different ship and I wouldn't have to see them again. Going to Tortola on the CB in March....maybe I'll find my Ray Bans!

  6. Absolutely nothing on this list! And really, why do the cruiselines think that paying for ice cream is merited? It's ice cream for goodness sake! It should be included in the price of the cruise. It's getting ridiculous and I agree with others who say all-inclusive land vacations may be in my future. sad : (
