  1. wow I am very surprised as your bids seem generous! I definitely won't win on my bids

I was really surprised too, but it just goes to show you that they look at a lot of factors when upgrading. It’s our first cruise on NCL, and another poster had previously bid less than we did and received his Haven upgrade a few weeks ago for the same cruise. You never know... there’s still some Havens available, so it’s possible you might get one! I wish you good luck 🍀

  2. Sailing 5/29 Breakaway. Our $75pp bid on minisuite was successful. Was hoping to make it into the Haven, and I thought I bid generously. Still, I'm happy to get upgraded at all!

    Our failed Haven bids were:

$1460pp for the Haven Forward Facing Penthouse (H7)

    $1415pp for the Haven Aft-facing Penthouse (H6)

$1670pp for the Haven 2 bedroom Family Villa (H4)

$1515pp for the Haven Owner's Suite with Large Balcony (H3)

$1790pp for the Haven Deluxe Owner's Suite with Large Balcony (H2)

  3. Does not necessarily mean that at all. A lot goes into the equation of granting an upgrade. It is not just your bid amount. As far as cabin availability goes, depending on how far out you are form sailing, it is quite possible that TA holds will be released before sailing date.

Thanks for your thoughts, Maniacal Cruiser (love your name and photo btw)! Being new to NCL, I think I've put too much energy and effort into figuring out how to win one of these bids... Won't make that mistake again, and I'll be much more breezy about it in the future. If a suite does somehow shake free, and we get it, it'll be a lovely surprise! I love cruising (Disney, Windstar, Viking, Oceania, Celebrity, Princess, RCL), so I'm sure my experience on NCL will be no different.

  4. First time on Norwegian, and I don't think I'm a fan of the bidding system... Sailing on Breakaway on May 29th, bid on 5 different Haven upgrades, and increased bids to higher than what was previously accepted by another poster... Looked at website today and now all Havens are listed as "sold out". I guess that means we're totally out of luck. Such a bummer, because our bids were in the 'fair' and 'good' ranges. Deep sigh... I'm sure we'll have a blast regardless, but I'm still surprised it didn't work out. I wish everyone else luck! :(

  5. We had the same problem for over a week now. We can't click the link on NCL'S homepage but we can use the link through our e-mails.

They had a glitch awhile back when the let's get you upgraded emails first came out, the minimum bid for all cabins was $0 and the max was $500.00, I bid max on all and all I thought was we are shoeins for the upgrade, then reality set it when they fixed it. I think there are still several glitches in the system.

Thank you for your feedback! Gosh, I hope they fix it and my bids are still in the running... I've noticed a few discrepancies with this particular booking - It's my first time on NCL (have cruised Disney, RCL, Oceania, Windstar, and Viking in the past) and am hoping this isn't indicative of how things will go throughout the cruise. I was so excited to try this cruiseline - keeping my fingers crossed that things will go more smoothly from here-on-out. Good luck with your bids and please let us know if your upgrade is accepted!

Anyone else in our boat (ha ha, pardon the pun) with system glitches in the past, and still have received the upgrade?

  6. Anyone else experiencing a strange disappearance of the upgrade offer email within their NCL message center account? I'm sailing in a little over a month. Received 3 upgrade offers to date to my personal email, and one to my NCL message center. Repeatedly bid, and continued to up my offer. Like others, I've grown impatient and called NCL through my travel agent yesterday to discuss just paying for an upgrade. Couldn't get the price I wanted, went back in to my vacation summary and tried to access the upgrade message within my NCL message center to raised my bid one last time, but noticed that the upgrade message offer had disappeared from my NCL messages... I went back in to the bid confirmation emails that they sent my personal email account, and could go through those links to confirm my bids are still 'pending', but I'm wondering why in the world the message offer was removed from my NCL message list?... In searching for available cabins, nothing has changed since yesterday, so I'm really perplexed. Does this mean they're starting to award the upgrades? Is this an indication they want me to stop bidding?... So strange that it just disappeared. If anyone else is waiting, and happens to notice that the upgrade message sent to your NCL message center has disappeared, or has experienced this in the past and is any indication of movement, can you please let us know?
