The tour was a disaster and we cancelled it before it even began. There is at least a half mile walk to the jeeps. When you have people in your group that can't walk fast, that is significant. I communicated with the company for a few weeks before the tour about our wants and needs. When we first arrived at the jeeps, the tour guides started to tell us what the tour was going to be. I thought based on all the e-mail traffic the guides would be prepared. It was as if I never spoke to the company. We found out we had to drive a couple of weeks out. Upon re-reading the website, there is a tiny blurb about the company will drive if we don't want to. There is no mention that you HAVE to drive out of the city, nor is there mention the jeeps are manual transmission. When we arrived after the half mile walk, there were three jeeps, two tour guides, and two drivers. The tour guides tried to pack five of us into a jeep, that wasn't going to happen. That left us with no ability to leave the city because the company couldn't drive in the city (some kind of taxi law) and we only had two drivers. When my brother spoke to the "supervisor" he was asked if we reserved an automatic transmission. We didn't know we needed to because there is no mention of that on the website. All in all, we wasted one hour of our day because it took a while to walk to the jeeps and then hassle around because of the driving situation. The jeeps themselves were not in good condition either. I was going to drive one jeep and the seat belt didn't work. Needless to say, not a good experience. We ended up getting a taxi that took us to all the places for much cheaper than the company. He was a great tour guide, stayed with us all day. Be weary when you book with this company.

When does the online check in start? I know I can check in 75 days out, but does it start at midnight on that day or 7am EST? Other than choosing the boarding time, what happens during online check in?

In the United States you get one from any AAA store. They are around $10-$15. The rental company can sell you one a temporary, but it's a little bit more. That's why I said it's easier if you already have an IDL. And the IDL last for a year, I think.

My wife and I rented from Hertz. The company is right there so we just walked to get our car. Make sure you get an International Drivers License, it makes it easier. You drive on the left side of the road and the steering wheel is on the right side of the car, so that was fun. Hertz gave us a map with places to see. We drove all over the island and it was fantastic, no stress. You have to go to Shirley Heights. It overlooks English Harbour and is the most beautiful sight I have ever seen. Here's a picture of it.

Go with Captain Marvins! They get out to Stingray City before the big cruise ship excursions. We had the rays to ourselves and when we left, the droves of people were coming in. Fantastic crew and boat, go with them.

My family has 6 kids ranging from 15-9 years old. What are some things to do, and not to do, with the kids?

I have been to Columbus Park which is on Discovery Bay which is said to be where Christopher Columbus landed in Jamaica. You can see everything there in 15-30 minutes for sure. I found it very interesting and learned several things. There is no formal tour and you can walk around on your own. A guy there offered to give me a tour for free but I gave him $5 at the end. He was very knowledgable.
You can see it in my video starting at :26 and ending at 5:03.

Thanks for the info. I think we'll go there for sure. Unfortunately I couldn't watch the video, there was an error.

My family is going to Falmouth in December 2016. We are interested in going to the Green Grotto Cave and Christopher Columbus' landing site. Are they worth the trip?
Do not book with cozumelcruiseexcursions.net
