  1. Took me two cruises on that class ship to know there was a lounge under the main show lounge.

And yes, there's that hidden walkway many miss that goes around the inside of the bow of the ship. Which also leads to the game room.

Also like the walk around in the rear of the ship as well, also on deck 3.

  2. I have heard that tables for two are real close to each other. I'm ok with that.

Will I be able to sit at a table by myself like RCL or am I going to have to eat with someone?

The tables for two only seem to be on top of one another in the YTD areas. In the regular section they aren't really too much closer than any other tables, but that depends on the ship.

I only cruised solo once, and although I asked to be seated at a large table, I was always seated at my ogigionally assign table, and the MD kept trying to match me up with other solos.

  3. I read and understood, was just qualifying for other posters. Did I say you misspoke? On a more serious note, was it adults only when she was the Destiny, I cannot recall.

Actually don't remember. Almost said because I didn't have kids but I did; we just left them home.

But I do remember some little girl sitting on the barstool in the pool. And a floating too foo in the corner.

  4. We have a balcony room on Valor booked for Sept 19. My concern is the room we picked has a connecting door to people next door. Should I be concerned of noise from the neighbors, assuming they have no parties next door.

We've had connecting doors that we could open, and could not. Neither time did we ever have an issue. But I will say I never thought I had a party going on next door. There's hardly enough room in the standard cabins for two people to even dance.

  5. Lol I got my cabin asst. today and was not happy with a oceanview connecting stateroom to someones cabin I didn't know(Mostly because I hate noise and am a light sleeper) the price was 380 dollar difference I told them I will think about. called back 30 mins later price went up to 680 dollars. I called back 30 mins after that went back down so I booked it. Anyone have information on cabin 6321 on the sunshine...=)

The double door actually has more noise insulation than a regular wall. You just paid an extra unnecessary $380.

  6. Should be applied IN the cabin, 30 mins. prior to going in the sun, anyway. And, it's still supposed to be rubbed in....

Not really. Then it will be you inhaling it, as well as getting all over the furnishings

It should be applied in a private washable down place.

  7. Just off the Triumph...had a great cruise but dang, the aerosol sunscreen on the Lido deck is out of control. Give me a smoker over that stuff any day!

Yeah. But that's in a lot of places. No one checks or looks downwind before applying.

  8. It means your TA is talking nonsense. There is no option to select table size pre- cruise so they gave you a false option so who knows what other bad information they have dished.

Huh? On the Holidayband Fantasy class ships, we knew a table of 8 would secure us a window table. We requested and always got the window table.

As the additional classes came out, we did the same thing, and always got the same thing.

The only time it didn't work was when we booked a late cruise, and got assigned late seating. A quick trip to the MD in embarkation day got us what we expected.

  9. Hi,

I am thinking of booking on the Valor but wanted to know if you can open the doors between balconies?

    Thank you.

All the doors open all the way down the side of the ship, in order for mass cleaning of the balconies on turnaround day.

I remember touring the Triumph the day she arrived from Italy, and while touring the staterooms, stepping out to the balcony an being able to see clear to the from and back of the ship from where I was standing.

And sure enough, when we cruised her a couple months later, debarkation morning they were once again all open.

I wonder at what point pax started asking for personal reasons. But they used to honor any request. Now it has to be under certain conditions, like location of hooks curing device. So even though the partition CAN be opened, it's hit or miss if they will open it. I've seen lists over the years somewhere of complied open and closing partitions and associated cabins.

We once had 5 in a row opened one cruise, and although the novelty was cool, I quickly realized I lost my privacy, and wished we either didn't do it, or had the ability to close and secure them at will.

On the Valor, the request is made to your cabin steward.

  10. The price was only lowered for a short time last year as a trial but it wasn't successful so it went back up. I've not heard of any plans to make seasonal pricing.

    t.

If everyone's just gonna guess i guess I'll get mine in as well.

My take was it was an effort to sway some smugglers from smuggling while offering a better price. I know which the better deal is, so I know indisnt budge. Maybe others didn't either, and all Carnival found were lower intakes. So back up it went.

Some day a bright bulb may burn brightly at someone at Carnival when they figure out all couples don't drink, many people don't drink more than 7 or 8 drinks daily to make it work for them, and there's so many ways for the "cheaters" to work around their rules. It not too hard, and often a topic of conversation on many cruise pages.

Even the retailer found he didn't sell any razors with them locked up in the safe. And many entrepreneurs have pounced on that market.

The latest bonehead move to restrict the basic element of life in a bottle still escapes me. Oh, but for YOUR convenience.
