I am waiting for European cruises, specifically the 12 night British Isles itineraries. I want them to return to Edinburgh!

Unfortunately, I don’t think Royal will do any cruises around the British Isles. They were done in 2021 from Southampton because it wasn’t possible to sail into Europe even though bookings had been made. Most of the cruises from Southampton are full of British people who want to go further than the UK.
I enjoyed sailing around UK in 2021 and would be interested in doing it again but I’d be very surprised if any such cruises will be offered in 2024.

Does anyone know at what time you can book shows etc through the app? We dont get on board till 1pm and worried everything will be booked out by then.

Don’t know what time you can start booking but I expect you’ll be OK. Hopefully so will we - we don’t board until 1.30!

We're booked on the 5th September, only booked yesterday. Live only 1 1/2 hour from Southampton and always wanted to see Scotland so this is ideal.

I didn't think we'll need a day 2 test as we're not leaving the UK so no re-entering.

We'll need a PCN, but I read that it was complementary so assume RCI tell you where to go and pay?

Waiting to see if we will be able to go out freely, after all, that's the whole point of staying in the UK, or only allowed on RCI excursions, but then we can't be more than a group of 15 people in Scotland. If so, I hope prices will be reasonable.

We’re also booked on the 5th Sept cruise which was originally the fjords, then Spain & Portugal, now Scotland! I’m actually pleased we’re staying in the UK because as you say, it’s a good way to see Scotland and no need for a day 2 test at the end of the cruise.

A PCR test is required approx 72 hours before sailing. Royal C will send an email about 2 weeks before sailing giving all the info.about it.  They pay for it if you arrange it with Eurofins (link in email) and the results are sent to RC as well as to you.

As for excursions, none are on sale at the moment. Celebrity have just said vaccinated guests can go ashore on their own so everyone is hoping RC will also allow it soon.

I think Royal C are anticipating that Spain will go on the amber plus list soon, which means anyone returning from there will have to quarantine for 10 days on return. That would lead to a lot of people cancelling cruises. I expect the Sept/Oct cruises will change to around UK if they sail. I’m booked on 5th Sept and have seen the Anthem  is expected to be in port at Kirklees on the 8th so RC is definitely checking alternatives. Hopefully we’ll know soon.

Sorry, should have said Kirkwall in Scotland. Seems like I’ll have to take warmer clothes!

Haven’t been on either ship but have done a lot of those ports.
Loved the Baltic as it isn’t easy to travel there if not on a cruise.

As someone said, you won’t be sailing from Venice so would have to factor in how to get to Ravenna.

Love the fjords but Norway is expensive for excursions and coffee/snacks/entry fees/gifts on shore.

  7. We’re on the 5th Sept cruise but haven’t received an email yet so thanks for the new itinerary posted by Single Cruiser. Not surprised it’s been changed and won’t be complaining even though we’ve visited those ports before, but just curious to know if we’ll get any ‘perks’ for not cancelling eg. extra onboard spend.
