We have trip cancellation, trip interruption and baggage covered under our credit card (Chase Preferred). We are thinking of just getting a policy for medical costs, evacuation, etc. Does this make sense?

Can you get the hop on hop off boat by the cruise port or do you have to get into town first?
-
As for the transfers between the airport and the ship, you can buy them separately for $60 pp. For myself and the hubby, that comes out to $240. I think taxis or a car service in Bergen and Stockholm may cost less. I know...I'm trying to save a tiny bit of money but it looks like it would be easy.

We're in the same boat trying to decide between Viking Air and on our own for May 2021 Homelands. Viking for an upgrade to Comfort Plus (not business, but a little better than economy) is 2,398 a person. Economy is 1,300 plus 100 air plus. Delta has good flights, with good layovers for 1099. They are offering no cancel or change fees until June 30, which falls within out 310 window. If we cancel, we can use the voucher in a year and I know we will travel in the future. Seems like a no brainer from a cost perspective, but I'm still nervous. (Also, the change/cancel fees would add up to 1,000 for both if they did charge us, so we still would be ahead of the game.)

We went on a river cruise on a new ship and it was fantastic. They bring in the most experiencd people to train and work with the staff. Our chef on the river cruise was the one in the commercials and the food was just outstanding. He said they stay with the new ship for several months.
We're booked on the Venus for Homelands on May 3, 2021 and can't wait.

We are doing the Viking Rhine Getaway, Basel to Amsterdam in August with a pre cruise extension in Lucerne. Looks like the day we get there is all free time, and the second day is the walking tour in the morning. We want to do the Mt. Pilates Golden tour on our own, which is about 5 hours long. Can we fit it in after the walking tour? On the second day, it says we leave for Basel in the late afternoon. Does anyone have an idea of what time that would be? If it's really late pm, we could do Mt. Pilates that day at 8:30. Certainly wouldn't want to miss the bus to Basel!

First time on Viking. On Ocean cruises, we always request an extension cord and distilled water for my husband's CPAP machine. Does Viking provide that?
Also, are there ice machines on the ship? Hubby is addicted to iced coffee.

I'm looking at the last two weeks of August for a Rhine cruise. I see that the prices drop slightly in August and wonder why. Are there pros/cons to sailing then? Heat? Closures?

We are doing the land portion before the cruise, beginning in Fairbanks. Are these jackets for sail anywhere near the princess hotel?

Thank you all for the replies. I will contact them. Now we can both get a good night's sleep!

My husband uses a CPAP machine for sleep apnea. Are there outlets near the head of the bed on Freedom of the Seas? If not, any suggestions to get power for his machine. The machine needs to go on an end table or chair by his head.

We are a group of 26 on Freedom in November. We had originally signed up for My Time dining. Our TA just told me that that 10 of us have been confirmed for the early seating in the MDR and that 16 have been wait listed! Its very important to is to all eat together. She said we needed to switch to MDR to get us all together. Any ideas on how the chances of the wait listed people getting in? Anything we can do to improve our chances. I searched the forum, but most of the threads are from 2011 or before.
Thanks!

Loving your posts! Are you far away from where they are serving lunch on Coco Cay if you get a cabanette?
When are excursions loaded on Azamara's website?

We're on the July 14th British Isles, and the excursions show for everywhere except the Ireland ports. Interesting that yours aren't showing either.
