  1. Just sitting here thinking things through - and have come up with a flight question, leading up to sailing on the HOS on the 23rd.

I have Business Select privileges, so checking in is not that big of deal for me. Going to get A15 in the worst case scenario...

My travel companion does not have Business select --- so she will need to "check-in" 24 hours in advance to get a good boarding position. Yes, I know that I can "save" a seat...but don't want to be that guy holding a seat for boarding position C30. LOL.

Don't plan on getting wifi during the week....want to be totally unconnected. Any advice, other than just simply paying for Early Bird checkin?

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Sorry maybe I am just tired....ADT?

LOL....no worries. I might have got a little too technical.

ADT = Average Daily Theoretical, as in what the casino "expects" to make off of my play. Easy to calculate in slots, take the coin in times the hold %. Tables is more of a guessing game as to what each place values certain games at.

Here's an example.....certain casino in Vegas requires roughly 3000 points a day for a room. A point is earned for every $1 wagered on slots. So $3000 in play gets you a room. Typical slot hold is around 8%.

    3000x.08=$240 is the ADT.

Was wondering if anybody had the formula that RC uses.... it typically is a well guarded secret...

  3. The vip sticker serves 2 purposes

    1. free drinks while in the casino (which does not apply since you have package)

    2. If you have the sticker they waive the 5% cash advance fee

The answer to your other question is. The average limit charged to your room from the casino is $3,000/day

for players, they tend to raise it. My limit has always been 5k per day allowable to my room charge

    Hope this helps

That is great info. And exactly what I was looking for. Much appreciated.

  4. One bottle at a time. You may find a bar that will give you more than one bottle, buit it's pretty easy to ask for a bottle every time you go by a bar and stock up in your stateroom.

I have purchased the Deluxe package. Since the tip is included in the price, it is NOT standard practice to tip in cash when ordering a drink correct?

  5. If you are TR it won’t help. However based on your play first day, if it’s significant, they will give you the vip sticker. If your rate of plays continue they will give you a free drinks sticker too. The final perk comes at the end of the cruise - a free cruise.

Snoope -- thanks for all the good info -- you seem well-versed in this area. Much appreciated.

Damn Total Rewards....they send me to Atlantis each year...wish they covered RC too. LOL.

Obviously, we don't play for comps...but...we recognize their value.

What exactly does the VIP sticker do for you?

I've already bought the Drink Package...so no value there.

    Thanks in advance....

  6. Based on your post, I suspect you have a history at land based casinos. If you have a high tier card from MLife your status can get you vip status on RCL. They will waive the 5% and give you other perks too.

    Thanks to both of you.

You are correct. Though I'm a TR guy though...instead of MLife.

Just see the host or the cage once onboard and present the appropriate tier card and that gets you on your way?

  7. Hey all -

Sailing on the 23rd, haven't taken the time to apply for casino credit yet, so not going to go that route.

My question - what are the various ways to get casino credit once onboard.

    1. Obviously cash plays

    2. Room charge?? If so, what is the limit, and are you charged a fee for doing so?

Regular player here... So understand how this works on land. Just need info for at sea.

    Thanks guys.

  8. Thanks for the info all. I do spend a ton of time gambling, so obviously have a good handle on the way things should work....but when you're a captive audience on a ship, that is not always the case. Lol.

When you say "free drinks", is that going to in the casino only, or anywhere on ship? Would make my decision to buy the drink package easier...

    Thanks again guys!

  9. hey all - couple questions regarding casinos on Royal, specifically on HOS.

    1. Casino credit. Obviously cash is accepted for chips. But what if you don't want to carry your bankroll onboard. What are the other options for obtaining casino credit?

    2. Poker tables? Talking live action here....not Pai Gow or similar. Does it exist? Yes....I know there are card player cruises out there...

    3. Comps. Anything worth chasing? No...don't need the chasing comps lecture ;)

    Thanks in advance!
