Great! Thank you! We got an Ocean View on the Riviera level. I will be adding all of that stuff to my list of things to get. Im an ice tea drinker so Im glad that is part of the beverages that are offered. We are driving up from San Diego so we dont have to worry about airline fees or anything like that.

Ocean view on Riviera was our first room on our first cruise as well!! I loved it! That cruise hooked me 😍 Now I'm an addict always looking for my next cruise fix😂 Luckily I'm getting it in July.... Thank goodness! Seriously though, have an amazing cruise and enjoy every minute! Even boarding, seems mundane but you will be amazed at the size of the ship and the sounds of all the commotion. It's wonderful! Welcome to the community!!!

Congrats on your first cruise! OK, I'll answer what I can.

As stated before ice tea (unsweetened) and lemonade is available free of charge.

You can call carnival and prepay your gratuities or they will be charged to your account. Is up to you how you want to do that. I prefer to prepay so it's another thing I don't have to worry about. But it's just my opinion.

I also overpack but we drive so I don't have to worry about fees from airlines.

I'm not familiar with your ship but in general things we love to do are the sail away party, lido has different activities that are fun to watch for us such as hairy chest contest and mixologist contests. These are fun to people watch! We love the comedy shows.

Some things I've seen people recommend bringing were power strip without surge protector. You will only have one plug in the room so it's helpful! Over the door hanger to keep all your toiletries etc organized. Over the counter meds ( Tylenol, Advil, sea sick meds, things like that) or small first aid kit ( items are expensive on ship!) We also bring a few small laundry detergent pods and do laundry night before we leave so I don't have to once I get home-- you'll be depressed about leaving the ship and won't feel like doing anything😂😂 or that may just be me😉

My wife has had the social plan on our last three cruises and it has worked on all of them. I believe the documentation states it's not included but she had no issues with it.

I agree. I always get the social plan and when I had my iPhone iMessage worked every time no problem!

I could be wrong but I think it's because the cruise on the 10th is a for day and since part of the problem won't be fixed, y'all won't have enough time with slower speed to go to Cozumel. That's my understanding anyways. But yes I agree updates would be really nice!!!!!

The last we heard today from a Carnival rep ( not official email) it's still on, but still have late embarkation and no stop in Progresso. I'm not too concerned about Progresso, but I'm confused as to why the late embarkation lol We don't have to wait for others to debark and the rooms to be cleaned lol

Yes, it does. The CC article says that Carnival states the problem is with one alternator, though the unequal wakes last trip means there probably were two problems. Actually, shaft seals would be an easier fix than either an alternator or a propulsion motor. I believe she is scheduled for shipyard next month, so any prolonged problems will only require itinerary changes until then.

Hi sir! I'm scheduled to cruise Saturday on the Liberty. There are a few people on this cruise who are worried about the safety of this cruise if propulsion isn't resolved. I respect your opinion greatly and was wondering if you saw any problems cruising less than full speed. Any problems if we encountered a storm, ect? Thank you!!

Apparently, the problem appears to be with one of the alternators that the diesel engines drive that generate power. This can become a large can of worms, and may require some time to schedule parts and service technicians. I don't think future cruises will be cancelled, but expect some more itinerary changes in the next month.

Do you think our cruise on Saturday will still happen with what you know about these repairs? It's been reported the Coast Guard won't allow them to sail until the issues are resolved.

On our first cruise we were assigned early dining and it was just too early for us to eat. We missed every evening because I didn't know you could ask on first night to be reassigned. I still dressed up every night for dinner because I love doing it and since I'm a stay at home mom I never get to. Our last cruise we had late dining and I'm so glad I got to go to a few dinners. Didn't make it on elegant night because my husband didn't feel his clothes were adequate for elegant night. I wish he owned a really nice suit, as I love a good tailered suit, but alas he's a good old country boy and I don't see him spending the money on a cruise suit lol

We did this excursion last August and loved it! I wore my swimsuit under shorts and a tank top and my husband wore shorts and t shirt and took his swim trunks. We did turtle farm first and dolphin encounter second, however, I'm not sure this is always the order done. Take sign and sail card, ID, cash, camera and towel. I can't remember if dolphin encounter had their own towels. Both places offer pictures but the turtle farm allows you to take your own photos as well. Nah. I've lived in Texas. I live 15mins from Texas now. I've known some cocky Cowboys fans who think the world should revolve around the Cowboys because they're the Cowboys. That's how I took the comment.

You are correct. I didn't mean to imply other fans shouldn't get to see their games. I actually enjoy football so much I watch several teams every week. Yes Cowboys are my team I never miss but I love to watch football so I'd be good to watch many other teams play too😉

We aren't delusional 😂😉 We are just good fans😉 My dad always taught me if you are a fan you love your team, win lose or draw. That's not to say I may not shout suggestions during a game at my TV😂 I love my football team and prefer that to the fans who boo their team at the first sight of failure. Some fans turn on their teams quick!! 😮That's not a fan really, that's someone who jumps on the "winning" bandwagon....

Thanks for all the replies!! I love the Freedom, probably because she was my first cruise. Triumph was great too. Our first we had an ocean view and on triumph we had a balcony. I loved having the balcony!! We had been planning a cruise this fall on the Breeze but situations arose and we didn't think a cruise was in our cards until spring. Then yesterday I came across a shorter cruise on Liberty for a great deal for inside!! I do prefer the 7 day but I'll take any cruise! Two under my belt in under a year and I am hooked!! This is after 20 years with no vacation! I thank all of you on cc that help keep me occupied between cruises by reading and learning more and more! Thanks again!!

I have gotten puffy on both cruises I've taken. I don't drink the water and don't do a lot of drinking but after a couple hours.... Bam swollen lol. I just assumed it was the salt air but never really knew for sure. It goes away quickly once I get home so no biggie 😉 If that's the price I pay to cruise I'll take it I guess!

Has anyone been on Liberty and either Freedom or Triumph? We have taken a cruise on both Freedom and Triumph and am curious how Liberty compares to either of these two ships. I've thoroughly enjoyed both cruises so far so I figure if we cruise Liberty I'll enjoy her as well. This would also be or first time in an inside cabin. I figure an inside cabin is better than no cabin at all, which is what we figured would be the case this fall lol any observations are greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!!
