If anyone wants to use a translator, Ponant has a French-language community on the website.  Just came across this one and it'd seem the French have the same questions about what to wear for gala and white events, with the usual of people wanting to adhere and those who prefer to wear other colours (for the white events).  SOme seem to imply a jacket (veste)for men is preferred.

Gotta make a stop at Macy's on my way to Tahiti.

Merci beaucoup for finding that...sadly my francais is tres mauvais!

  2. Hello DEB51, I am also taking the cruise in Sept to Colon, traveling single, looking to share transportation to Panama. Or even just best options. Have any ideas or research on it? At the moment my plan is to stay in Colon at a farm/hotel called La Granja Campo Y Aventura possibly do a jungle tour with my friend Mario. Looking to maybe find a group that would like to do that. Then ride the train into Panama on Monday, but it would make it so I would not see much of the city. (Train does not run on Sunday)

Any Help would be great or even just meet up on the ship

    Hi Cheryl

try posting to the Monarch rollcall (see my earlier post)

I'm flying out on Oct 8... check out the other posts regarding a transfer.

Maybe CC people can meetup on the ship after safety drill or something.

It would be great if we could post to that one...I only noticed this thread because my pal Val posted to it...it will be fun to see you again Val😊.

I am hoping to share a transfer to PTY Oct 8.

  4. I cruised on Pullmantur Monarch Sept 2016 from Bilbao, Spain to Colon, Panama. About 1,000 passengers for 14 days, lots of English speaking passengers, all crew spoke English. European flair to food so I loved it...some people didn't.

I am taking the same cruise again this Sept...so that says something!

  5. I haven't asked the cruise line if it's possible to get off the ship in Aruba and fly home that day 9/30 but I'd like to do that. Did you have much of a problem getting them to ok that? The logistics of getting to the Panama City airport at 8am on my return are becoming worriesome so I'd be ok to skip everything after Aruba honestly.

and she sent me an email confirming the request from Pullmantur.

  6. Hi everyone:

My husband and I are taking this cruise from Bilbao--getting off in Aruba. Would everyone on this roll call like to meet up on embarkation day--or the day after? If so, we could maybe arrange to meet somewhere at a certain time. Maybe to identify ourselves we could wear mardi gras beads? I think you can still get them at the $store.

If anyone wants to do this, just reply to this post and I'll keep a record of our names.

Me too -Deb - solo from Vancouver, heading for Spain Sep 4 - let me look for my beads!

  7. I took the cruise May 28 from Cartagena, Columbia to Lisbon, my first Pullmantur cruise, and had a wonderful time. I expected that the drinks would be low grade and was very pleased that even Baileys is on the list. Even if you want something not on the included list, the premium you pay is $1 or $2 .

The food was good, be prepared that there are breaks between meals that the buffet is closed.

The later dining was actually nice. And the language (my lack of Spanish) was not a problem.

When I found out the ship returned to Central America in September I wanted to take it back but my original plans had me back in the states at the end of August. I just found out I don't need to be back then and was thrilled I could still book this cruise.

I'm looking forward to making many new friends.

    Thanks for the info Naomi.

I'm getting excited...leaving for Spain on Sep 4 and looking forward to Madrid, Toledo, Segovia, Bilbao, and San Sebastian before boarding the ship.

Can't wait to meet the people who have been posting on CC.
