We were in Viking Sea 2 years and there were 6 of us. 2 different cabin classes. As soon as we got on the ship, we went to the explorer desk, and they linked everything up for us so we were all on the same tours. We had no problems. We also went to the restaurant and they did the same thing. We had a wonderful experience and everyone was very helpful

It seems to be now, as listed in my active MJV it says lunch from 12:00 to 2:00pm. I'm sailing in May, so reservations are now opening.

I never had lunch at Manfredi's on our last cruise so l don't know what is served for lunch. Is it the same as dinner? Would love to know if anyone ate lunch and what was offered.. thanks

On our last Viking cruise we tipped whenever we had room service, as we didn't have the same person each time, and I brought an envelope with singles in it just for this purpose.

Thanks for the laugh Geosez!! Unfortunately it wasn't ignorance, happened more then once and she announced to anyone who could hear her (after she was told to wear shoes) lets see them make me. She was dressed nicely. Go figure. Maybe she just liked the attention.

2 years ago on our Med Ody cruise, we had a woman who never wore shoes to the World Cafe. I thought it couldn't be topped, but oh how wrong I was. In the theater one night, she proceeded to take the pillows off the couch, put them on the table and put her feet on them. Then she removed the pillows after a while and just left her feet on the table.ugg, gross.

Did this on the Sea in 2016 and loved it. We took about a 45 minute nap after unpacking. Ate at the world Cafe and then headed out for this tour. Most people were dressed very nicely. Most I PT. Part wear comfortable shoes. We took the Mureno island tou the next morning, and then explored Venice on our own. Didn't do a gondola but instead took the water bus down the Grand Canal to the end and then took the people mover back to the boat. Great day

I am also a terrible sleeper, and on our Med Odyssey cruise we were right across from elevators on 6 th deck. Never heard the elevator or people. We are doing 4th deck across from elevators for our upcoming Homeland cruise.

I used the space to the left of the desk. I think that space was between the desk and the TV.

I used my magnets on Viking Sea. I put each days excursion tickets and anything else needed for that day up. I only 10 days up and as I removed an excursion, put the next day up. For our upcoming cruise, I bought another pack of magnets, so I can put them all up at once For me it worked great, and I always knew where I was going and what time I had to be some where. I will say I was sad to see my wall emptying.

We bailed on our Rome tour at the lunch break, to go on our private tour of the Vatican. Told our guide so they wouldn't wait for us. We took the train back to the port.

I roll very easily with changes, so I know anything goes. I have read so many great things about the Homelands cruise, and I'm looking forward to it.

Those were the prices listed lastDec. I am just using them as a ballpark figure, so at least I have somewhere to start from because you know they aren't going any cheaper!!
-
Thanks everybody for info. I remember for our last cruise, you could also see prices on itineraries which gave you an idea of costs. Don't like that they don't have prices in advance.. I am lucky that when we booked this trip they were still listing some prices, so I did jot them down.
-
Hopefully someone can remember better then I. I know exactly what date I can make reservations for tours on upcoming cruise, but does anyone remember how far in advance of reservation date you can view completely list of all tours offered and prices?

Thank you all for giving me so much info to work with. It was a great help

Took the Med Odyssey in April 2016. We had fantastic weather, never needed a coat, just a light sweater and only rained the last night in Barcelona. I loved this cruise. We spent extra time in Venice. The only place we want, that I could have done with out was the side trip to Pisa. I'm from NYC originally and all I could think of was Coney Island with all the hawkers. It was beautiful but would have stayed longer in Florence instead. Loved the cruise. I would recommend it. Doing Homelands in May.

Thanks for all your input. PhilW, I read others saying same thing about seats, the most uncomfortable. I think I'll move away from that airlines!!

Thanks jollyJoyce for your reply

In May, we are flying to Stockholm for our Viking Homeland cruise. It looks like Icelandic has flights that would work from JFK. Have never flown them before, and I am finding mixed reviews. If any of you have flown them, I would appreciate any feedback you can give. how is the economy class, also how much time did you have for changing flights in KEF. Thanks for any help with this

Definetly write them. I gave them my Explorer number, dates and names of previous cruises. It's worth a try. They responded very quickly.

I wrote Viking this morning stating I have been on 2 Viking trips, with 3rd for next May and had not received an email. They quickly responded and I'm picking our 2 gifts now!!
Thank you Viking for a fast answer

Hope someone can clarify something for me. When you state "the second night out" does that mean the 2nd night on the ship (going on Homelands) or second night after we leave original port. Sometimes I can be to literal fr my own good. Thanks for the help here.

Yes!!! I'm back on also. Thanks everybody!

Just finished this cruise on June 12. We also found much better prices on our own, but we did pay the $49pp transfer to the airport. We were the 2nd group to leave at 3:30 am. Would do it again. Loved the cruise and so enjoyed ending in Bergen
