  1. y'all are way too funny.

But if there is any married couple here that would "let" "allow" "permit" "agree with", however you want to phrase it, your spouse, that you love, respect, and honor, to walk around looking like a dollar whore on nickel night, and open your spouse up to ridicule, mockery, embarrassment and harassment.... then I would have to question the level of devotion to your partner.

We protect one another from harm. So, yes, there were some Halters (on google) that I would let, allow, OK, permit, agree with, that would guard her appearance and self respect. If I did not give her my approval, I would be failing her, and she would see it exactly that way.

:DAs far as Obey...... all I can say is I have been married for decades, and as any wise husband knows, the best answer to that is "yes Dear".

I can't believe you actually made this worse.

  2. AGREED. A cruise ship MDR is just a large mass feeding banquet hall. There's nothing really very elegant about it.

Carts of plastic covered entrees being rolled all over the place by frantic waiters (who beg you for good reviews) .. harsh lighting .. lots of noise ... jiggly gelatinized desserts.

Come on now ... shorts are perfectly fine at the Olive Garden Of The Seas.

    Amen to that!

  3. On my last trip I wish I had brought a pair of garden shears to cut all the selfie sticks.

All those people take photos of themselves constantly is so idiodic ......

[emoji57]idiotic, indeed. People want to document their travels and fun time with photos. Unless they're dead center of a busy thruway there's no reason to be a jerk about it.

  4. I knew someone that rented one and used it pretty much exclusively for the trip. Sadly, she didn't spend enough time or have the experience/expertise to choose the correct settings. Got NOTHING off the GoPro to my knowledge. I did buy my husband one for Christmas last year and it works well but don't rely on it alone if you haven't had a chance to practice with one. I don't think they're as point-n-shoot as people hope.

  5. NC. And to be fair, it will depend on the venue. Shorts at TGI Fridays? Sure. Ruth's Chris? No way. Some do, but it's just not appropriate.

I live in the desert southwest; let me assure you that it is completely appropriate. I work in a field that puts me in proximity to some extraordinarily moneyed dealmakers. Million+++ deals go down in shorts and polos as often as they do in ties and often in some very posh dining establishments or they build relationships and camaraderie over junk food at the ballpark. I'm pretty sure none of those folks would be caught dead in a tux on RCI. They'll be wearing evidence of their successes all right, but it will be the quality and design of their tanks and not some pretentious tuxes/gowns on a ship. And most that I've had the pleasure of working with would never stoop to calling anyone else out on their attire. Those people, the ones with real class, never belittle the people around them.

  6. I was just stating objective facts. Thanks for blessing us with your cheerful opinions.

Right? If getting hungry *late because I'm on three hour or more time difference and couldn't muster up much appetite at dinner counts as gluttony, count me in. Also, I'll be waiting for my *lush designation as well because I'm definitely going to enjoy by beverage package! [emoji41]

  7. Cruising is meant to be fun and it is something we all love to do (that is why we are on these forums) , there is no need for rudeness and aggression. Comments like "If you can't afford to tip, you cant afford to cruise" are not helpful.

Bet it's helpful to the crew members trying to earn a decent living.

  8. You know, Cruise Critic can be a nasty place to hang out sometimes. People complaining about how cruising's "not what it used to be" or arguing about removing tips and on and on and on.

Then, every now and then, someone comes along and does a review like this. They spend hours sat at a keyboard, uploading photos and giving a balanced commentary on the cruise they've just done... Hundreds of future cruisers will benefit from these small, simple pieces of information.

It's because of these people that me and many others continue to trudge through the rubbish to find these.

    I couldn't agree more!
