I packed a suticase with just water last week out of Bayonne, no problem at all. I saw many cases of water and soda lined up in the halls, I at least made some effort to hide mine. ;)

I had MTD last week and almost always had the same waiter and same table. We never had a wait and went at different times each night, one night they even sent us to a different dining room which was a nice change of scenery.
-
Looking forward to your review, my daughter and I sail this Saturday and faced the same challenges with booking late and limited reservations available.
-
Cool, thanks! I sail this coming Saturday, did you do the B1G1 dining offer by chance? I'm guessing that means we will miss formal night since they schedule our second specialty dining choice on the second night of this itinerary which is a bummer.

It's sucked on every Royal ship I've ever been on. Now Carnival has consistently superior pizza!
this I can agree on, the only thing I loved about my Carnival cruise was that pizza..I made many, many trips for a pizza, even paid for it to be delivered one night.

If someone is having a few late night drinks, and wants some snacks, where would they go? Asking for a friend ;)
-
You should take a look at Tim & Courtney's Chops dinner photos in this review:
you are awesome, thank you! this is my first RC cruise and i have a lot to learn

The base price gives you multiple starters/apps/desserts and one non-premium entree. If you want another non-premium entree, they charge you $10. If you want a premium entree, you pay the listed price.
I had no idea you could order multiples, I've already been eying up the menus and having trouble deciding on which apps I want..this is great news to know though I always feel like I'm getting silently judged for ordering more than one ;)

you certainly do not have to get away from the kids but if they are anything like mine and my nieces, they LOVED the kids club and couldn't wait to leave us most nights. I figured it's just as much their vacation as mine so I let them sacrifice a few dinners with family and they ate with the kids club while we ate at a specialty restaurant (saved me money, as well)

I read on a review that RC assigns boarding times, is this true? If so, when do you normally find out? I had planned to just arrive early in the morning to beat the rush but if this is the case, I guess that may be pointless.
-
I picked the BOGO dining offer and the only slot available for the first night is 6PM, but we already have a show reservation at 7:30PM. Is this doable or cutting it too close? This is my first RC sailing and I honestly I have no idea what I am doing ;p
Will show reservations open up as I keep checking back over the next few weeks or do people tend to just stick with what they have?
-
Just made a late booking for Anthem and all they have left for MTD are reservations after 8:30pm. If I select this time, can I still check the dining room as a standby some nights for earlier times? I am new to RC and know nothing about how MTD works, I wasn't even certain I needed to make reservations at all with MTD? It is just two of us, not sure if that makes a difference in wait time.

The 30 dollar charge is an error. The kid's price was 10 when I sailed on the Allure in February of 2017.
On the Allure sailing, you must dine at Chops on the first or second night. You can use the rest of the specialty dining package at any of the other restaurants (except chef's table) on any given night.
Great, that's good to know. Does Chops offer steak on the kids menu? I have a kiddo with a preference for it, which I guess means I could always end up paying for her as an adult if I had to.
-
The website says "Kids ages 6-12 now dine at our specialty restaurants for a discounted price", but when I add my 10 year old to my order, it is charging her as $30, the same as an adult. Is that the correct charge?
Are there only certain restaurants they pick for the $30 range?
-
As for children, do you just add them on when you check in at the restaurant? If I purchase this option, it is just my daughter (age 10) and I and I don't want her to be left out, but I guess they would need to know it's a table for two.
-
I noticed the discount for purchasing in advance and had the same question, was wondering if these credits be used elsewhere if they aren't all used up in the arcade?
-
Different kids, different tolerances for being away with Mom in a small room.
Does a longer cruise appeal to YOU, or to her, too?
Something to consider. ;)
I would be lying if I said the thought of two extra days didn't worry me for that reason alone. I feel like the responsible thing is to get the most bang for my buck and go with Breakaway, but I also recall my last 8 day cruise and muttering a few times how it really didn't need to be quite so long.

loving your honest review!

I get the bottomless bubbles and then get cranberry and pineapple juice from the bars.

Is it safe to assume that plain seltzer water is priced like a soda? I drink vodka and seltzer, wondering if I'll be charged for the shot of vodka and additionally for seltzer.

We will be dressing up along with you, just trying to think up a clever costume idea

Hope they do horror movies on Pride, I'd hate to miss that!

I keep thinking of traditional US 'carnival' snacks, would definitely be my weakness - fresh popcorn, funnel cakes, cotton candy

The Gift is a waste of time...Spectra is AMAZING! I was on last week and two days of shows were cancelled because of weather so keep in mind there's always the possibility of that happening.
