  1. I'm sorry that happened to you, my mom was booked to go on our cruise in June with us and she was sharing a balcony room with the two granddaughters, the room was for three people. Unfortunately she died before the cruise and we called Carnival to cancel her from the room. They were wonderful and very understanding. The two girls got to stay in the same room and there was no talk of moving , no , we did not have a pvp. We always do our own booking and have had great luck. I do agree that at times the person you talk to isn't helpful so we wait and call back.

  2. You do not need a ta , you can do this yourself. There isn't a group rate or special price, Carnival booking will block off rooms for you and then your family and friends can do their own booking with the Group booking number. They will get onboard credit added to their cabin but the extra money won't come until after the cruise. We booked a group with 40 people a few years back and everyone booked on their own. We have used a ta before in 1997 , now we do our own and get the same discounts seniors, military, etc., everyone gets those if they apply. It's not a secret. Most people are busy and want to book on their own time and are grownup enough to go online and do it themselves, if not you could do it for them.

  3. We took 5 cruises last year and are taking 4 this year and have never had our cabin steward ask us about wanting twice a day service or not. I understand they are overworked but they shouldn't push you one way or another. We like twice but they really don't have to do much to our cabin because I keep it clean, we just need towels. We rush back after dinner to see our towel animal, still love them and try and keep them all week, just turned 60, haha. We also tip extra at the end of the cruise . Love Carnival, happy cruising .

  4. Been cruising with Carnival since 1997 off and on and I find the food wonderful and a great selection, I have always found something to eat. The main reason I enjoy the MDR is because I'm sitting with my husband and sometimes my family or new friends and I don't have to cook. I can sit and relax and enjoy being waited on . I enjoy being with everybody , laughing and having a wonderful cruise. I always have a great cruise. I've taken two cruises on NCL and their food wasn't as good but I didn't starve. I'm just happy to be cruising.

  5. You need to call Carnival and talk to them about getting a group booking , they will give you a group booking number, very important. This links all the cabins to the group. Yes you will get onboard credit but at the end of the cruise when you get home they will take all the rooms, inside, balcony, ocean view, etc, and average the price per person they paid and credit the person who booked the group . That person can divide the credited money between the cabins. We just got back and had 8 rooms, 1 suite, 2 balconies, and 5 inside rooms, each cabin got $ 100.00.

  6. The book costs $25 not $40 and one of the first things to get free is a beautiful necklace , heart shaped with a small diamond worth $150 . There is a lot of good free stuff besides the charms and bracelet. On the bottom of every page it clearly states that it expires the end of the year. Also in the book is a coupon for a free color changing tote from DelSole . I admit I don't wear the charm bracelets but I give them as gifts , I have gotten a lot over the years. Some shops will let you buy extra charms or even a completed bracelet.

  7. Go ahead and book it, you will love it. I'm a mid ship 7th or 8 th floor balcony or suite girl and my husband talked me into one on the Vista's maiden voyage. It was great. It is so much more private and being closer to the water was nice. Yes, there will be salt on the railing but having the privacy is worth it.

  8. The best thing I've taken for us is a small power strip to plug our cameras and my iPad into, there are never enough plugs, now I bring my own tea bags, not paying for flavored tea. I bring otc medicine for just in case and a sea sick band that in 16 cruise I've never used, knock on wood. We each bring a small flashlight to put on our night stand in case we get up at nite, also a small sewing kit, boy that's come in handy when that button pops off because the clothes shrink at the end of the cruise.

  9. The liquid lounge is different from anything they have ever done and is gorgeous, that being said, the chairs are very uncomfortable. There are some booths but get there early. It is smaller because of the IMAX theater being above it, trying to cram a lot in a new ship.

  10. After being on the Vista I would have loved to have a Havana cabanas, the area is gorgeous. I did hear about the noise from the beautiful Havana Bar but since I wear ear plugs because of the bear I sleep with I don't know if this would be a problem for me, haha

  11. Water pressure was great for us, we were never hungry, showroom was different but was used for double duty, nite club also. If the people complaining like the other cruise ships then please cruise them, we love Carnival and it's never tried to sell itself as an uptight cruise line where the snobby cruisers go to bed at 8 and have dinner by 4. It's called a fun ship and we always do.

  12. We never felt we were crowded or overrun with people until our first port of call, then the line was very long. They figured it out and the next port was much better. The lines at the lido were manageable as at all the other popular spots. The layout of the Vista is such that you never really feel crowded.

  13. The ice cream is served daily on the lido deck and the usually offer 4 flavors. They serve it to you and then you can add toppings. It is free. They also have the 24 hour machines and the Cherry on Top where you pay a fee.

  14. We were on the maiden voyage and signed up for the hub app so we could keep in touch with each other on the ship, worked great, also got the Internet pkg so I could keep in touch with my kids at home through Facebook , real bargain. Off the ship we paid to have international calling plan, otherwise phones were on airplane mode. We had No problem with service on the ship.
