  1. I have heard that the Celebrity Edge's Chic Night dress code is more stringent in Europe than it is in the Caribbean.  Can anyone who has recently been on the Edge (7 night cruise) in the Caribbean provide some insight into this?  Is a jacket still the norm?  At age 76 I would like to lighten the suitcase.  Question:  Do I need to wear a sport coat in the main dining room on chic nights?

  2. I recently cruised on the Celebrity Summit in Oct. 2019.  I noticed that the dress in the main dining room on formal nights had been much more relaxed than in the past (estimated 25% of men had no jackets and ties).  Not complaining!  There were no shorts, t-shirts, swim wear, or flip flops. This leads me to wonder about other ships under Royal Caribbean and if it is the same. We'll be on the Allure of the Seas in January 2020 and the suggested attire for formal nights is still a tuxedo or coat and tie.  My question is:  Has anyone had a recent cruise on the Allure? Can you tell me if formal night dress has relaxed as much as Celebrity? Will I be denied entrance if I am in a button-down collared shirt, tie, and vest?

  3. I, too, will miss sitting on the Promenade Deck watching the water when we go on the Konigsdam transatlantic in October. Only thing you can do, I think, is to be sure and emphasize your displeasure of having little to no shade on an open deck when you fill out your customer satisfaction survey (or email). I know for a fact that they read them.

  4. On 14 February,2016 my wife and I will disembark the Allure Of The Seas. We then need to get to the Nieuw Amsterdam which departs at 4:PM the same day.Does anyone know of a free shuttle service from point A to point B? I know that it is too far to walk and I would think that the taxis are probably not too thrilled about such a short distance fare. Thanks for any advice.
