  1. I have been eagerly waiting for your review of this cruise.

Have always wanted to visit the east coast in the fall, with all the vivid colours. So really excited to see your fabulous photography,

Also looking forward to your thoughts of the Regal. Like you I have some reservations about sailing on a large ship - have you changed your mind about them?

Am I the first to solve the song lyrics - Don't let me be misunderstood by The Animals. A favourite of my 21 year old nephew

  2. What great info on the luggage straps. I think that they will make great stocking stuffers for Christmas. I think i will order some for everyone in the family, especially for my Mother

The port called a few hours ago and said that my Mothers luggage was found and should be delivered to her tomorrow. Yay!!!!!!

  3. My Mom just got off the Star in Vancouver yesterday from what she said was the best

cruise ever, except for one thing ......her luggage was was not there in the luggage pick up area.

We have told her if it is not found that insurance will probably cover it, but she is still upset.

At the port they said they were surprised that her's was the only one lost that day as they usually have more lost luggage in a day.clear.png?emoji-eek-1725

Just wondering if anyone on this board has lost their luggage and if it was ever eventually found.

  4. Captain Tuvu truly is in a class of his own.

He was our Captain on a Hawaii cruise on the the Star in October. Only thing is, he cost me money because while I never play Bingo I just had to play when other passengers were talking about how hiliarious he was when he was the caller. :D It was money well spent though because he was funnier than some comedy acts I have seen

My Mother and Sister were very disappointed when they found out that he is not the Captain on their next cruise April 11th on the Star

Not often that people even remember who the Captain is on the cruise and he is probably one of the few who has people disappointed that he is not their Captain. As Peirlesscruises said Princess should find a way to clone him. He said he loves his job and it clearly shows.

  5. If you look at post #29 and #35. You receive Elite status just for the duration of the cruise your on.

    Not forever.

    Tony

When I won the Elite draw, it was very much emphasized that it was for "this cruise only" I was sharing a cabin with my Mother and she got her status changed to Elite also for "this cruise only"

Unfortunately this was my first real cruise since i had only previously been on a 1 night cruise, so that while I enjoyed the tender priority and mini bar I did not at the time fully appreciate what I had won.

For the people that got the Elite status permanently after 3 cruises could it be that they cruised in suites and so moved up the loyalty ladder more quickly?

  6. I have been on 30 cruises with Princess and I never seen someone upgraded to Elite for the remainder of the cruise. When did this take place just curious.

    Tony

This happened to me on my first real Princess Cruise! There were 4 of us traveling together and the 3 who were under Platinum level were invited to the Princess Theater where there was a presentation about Princess and draws for bottles of wine and the big prize was Elite Status for the balance of the cruise.

I was taken to the Captains Circle desk and given a new black card and a letter with all the perks I now had.

I have only taken 2 Princess cruises and this invite and draw was on both of them. I thought that it was something that happened on all their cruises. Both of those cruises were 15 days so may be it only happens on longer ones.

Anyway what a way to start with a new cruise line. I loved it and even though I was only Gold on my next cruise I loved it also,

  7. Side Notes: Captain Michele Luvo was wonderful! He was so funny. He always ends his daily announcements with a cute "bye-bye". And, Captain Luvo seemed to be everywhere on the ship! He showed up a number of times to call out Bingo numbers!

Out of 21 cruises, he certainly gets the award for being the most friendly and visible ship's captain.

I took this cruise last Oct and agree Captain Tuvo was wonderful.

First time we saw him he had some tools in his hands and we thought that he was the maintenance manager.:o A crew member told us who he was.

Several other crew members in different departments told us stories of how he was always asking his crew how things were going and did they need anything. They said that he was in areas of the ship that Captains rarely if ever go, and that the crew members in those areas couldn't get over how he took a personal interest in them and their duties and they loved it.

I think his friendliness and personalbility reflects on the crew and made a great cruise even more enjoyable.

  8. I was on the Star cruise to Hawaii. I spoke to one of the Medics in the elevator and he said that the biggest problem is "seasoned" passengers who lie on the medical form and get on board already sick. They lie because they know that they will be confined to their cabin until they are deemed not to be contagious.

On the first morning we were at breakfast in the dinning room and a man at the next table vomited right at the table. I had noticed his behaviour prior and I wondered why he didn't get up and go to a bathroom. I guess that he was one of the problem people that the Medic mentioned.

  9. Just got off the Star this morning and after personally seeing 8 ambulances taking away sick passengers in Hawaii and hearing one passenger had died due to Noro I am disgusted by the OP comments.

People who think that basic hygiene is humiliating are the biggest cause of the virus spreading.
