Thanks everyone for posting. These prices helps me decide on if the 8 day is a better value since I'm solo and the prices are not dropping. I'm looking at March, April, May or June 2017. Instead of taking two cruises this year; I may just do an 8 day. Now I just have to plan around grad school (Spring break is March 14- 20; classes ends May 14; Commencement is not scheduled yet :-( ), work, and Matt (Sorry, but I love Matt and can't risk having a bad cruise director, too bad he's on break in March). Thanks everyone.

I saw one at the comedy club on the Breeze. Not my style but everyone on board joined in the celebration. I'd prefer sunset, upper deck, forward or aft. I'd also do a steakhouse (if you can afford it. See if you can arrange something with the Maitre'd on formal night.

I love the Breeze. The complaints seem valid and consistent amongst passengers. I'm kinda happy to book a later sailing to allow them to get the kinks out. Hopefully they pay close attention for the Horizon and new ship as far the layout, lines, and small areas. They clearly need more staff to support the amount of passengers.

I just finished reading all 3 of your Reviews and loved them all! I totally want to cruise more often so now after reading how much fun you have alone I'm going to just book without waiting on my friends and family lol.
Yes its worth the double fare. I find geat rates last minute and I price watch.
Thanks for sharing.Thanks for reading!
You did a wonderful job on your review and pictures. I was wanting to check out the DR part. I saw a beautiful fall (maybe there was more, but I am at work and don't have a lot of time to read/see this), but is there a beach there to go to as well, or do you just tour the area?I don't know (you said you would like to do it) if you have as yet, but our plans are to do the Glory in March next year.
Thank you. I also read reviews at work. Its so addicting!

Don't know if you'll come back here after so long, but I enjoyed and appreciated your review. DH & I will be visiting Amber Cove and Grand Turk for the first time soon. Several random thoughts:
I am also trying to step out of my comfort zone and do the mid level falls tour. So glad to see your thoughts and experience on that.
Older people from the North also say they "have sugar", lol. I secretly laugh every time my in-laws use that phrase.
I'm picky about my cheese grits, too! :p
Thanks for reading. I hope you and your DH enjoy your cruise.
Great review! I really enjoyed it.The idea of a solo cruise sounds really fun + freeing
Its so fun. Im actually scared to cruise with other ppl.
Excellent review! I love your style, sense of humor & personality. Maybe because I'm a "New Yawka" too (Long Island born, raised & still residing). We're on the Splendor in 18 days & this review has my dying of excitement!Lol. Thanks for reading. My friends say I write how I speak on fb, lol. The New Yorker just bursts out sometimes.
Great review! Thanks for sharingThanks for reading!

Great review so far. Thanks for posting. That suite looks beautiful. One day someday I hope to stay in a Scenic Oceanview.

I have to admit that this is the first review that I have followed that I hated to see it come to an end. You have a great writing style. I love your sense of humor and you have a wonderful and cheerful attitude (not a Debby Downer like so many reviewers). We leave on the Splendor this Saturday. Can't wait to check out some of the places you highlighted in your review.
I hope you are enjoying your trip. I had the time of my life as usual. Cruising is what you make of it. Please let me know how your trip went! Thank you for your kind words and thanks for reading.

Thanks for such a great review! I've been on the Splendor a couple of times and I enjoyed taking a walk with you down memory lane. I'm looking forward to your Vista review! We'll be on her in November this year.
Glad I can bring back great memories. I hope you enjoy the Vista! Thanks so much for reading.
Thanks so much for the great review! I will keep the 12 waterfalls in mind if I get to Amber Cove - it looked so fun!I cannot say enough how fun it was. I can still close my eyes and see the water. Thank you for reading!

I'm so glad I came across this review. Just got off the Magic and my hubby got a "bounce back offer" and this is one I'm considering. You may have talked me into it.
By the way, the conversation in your head about the alcohol had me in stitches. You have a great sense of humor n I'm glad you enjoyed your trip.
The Splendor is a great choice in my opinion. Wasn't he crazy for suggesting such a thing! LOL. Thanks for reading!
Thanks for the wonderful review. The Splendor is one of our favorite ships. :)Thanks for reading. I also enjoy your reviews. They have kept me sane at work many days!

great review. Can't wait till our September Splendor cruise.......
Thank you. You will have loads of fun!

Serenity. The bar was always empty in this area. I enjoyed reading my book here.
I hurried to my room to grab my bags for self-assist. Customs kept delaying our debarkation so I ended up leaving the ship before my group was called. I had a 2:45 pm flight from Miami to BWI. I got off the ship at about 10:50 am and my group had not been called yet. Customs was fairly quick. I snagged a ticket on Carnival transfers outside the port and headed to Miami Airport. Ultimately my flight was delayed for 45 mins, but I still felt good with my decision to just get off the ship. It's always sad to leave. Hopefully, I can catch you guys on The Carnival Vista for a birthday getaway in December! Thanks for tuning in! If you have any questions feel free to ask. It takes a lot of effort to kick out these reviews. I took close to 200 pictures and that's modest compared to other reviewers. Out of four cruises, I have done three reviews. It means a lot to see all the thank you's and questions because it's all for you guys! Even though the view counts go up; it feels good see the thank you's and to know somebody is out there watching AND enjoying.
Bye Miami! See you soon!

Tonight's Show was Epic Rock. It was Awesome!!!
The guitarist was wonderful. He played a lot of songs for the pre-show.
I went to the comedy shows a little later Mike Estime was really funny. He told stories; whereas Chas Elstner told jokes using sound effects. I prefered Mike Estime.
Bae wasn't in my room tonight. Only the sad reminder of a heart from my room attendant. Sigh.
I woke up early and we were already in Miami. I took a few more shots of the ship and my room after breakfast.

Atrium
I loved the band.
This baby had a cheer squad. He was just dancing his little two step, lol.
I did grab a book from the library that someone donated. It is a really great book. I will return it on my next cruise. Even though the library is close to the atrium; you could not hear the band inside.
Photos! I am looking forward to the new digital photo option. Hopefully Carnival can implement this fleet wide. I believe it will reduce the overall cost of photos for guests and increase Carnivals revenue because they are not wasting a ton of photos. $20 for an elegant night photo is pretty steep.

Tonight's dinner wasn't nothing spectacular. I was satisfied from all the food I just had to sample.
Vegetable Spring Rolls (Everyday menu)
Bacon Mac n' Cheese. I enjoyed the mac and cheese off the kids menu, but this was more of a southern style that my mother cooks. It was wonderful.
More ship pics. Promenade Deck.
Oceanview Bar
Royal Flush Casino

Clearly my sugar was low after I ate Rotisserie and enjoyed a couple of drinks. I ran to Tandoor and jumped behind the guy holding the closed sign. He was pretty irritated with my childish behavior, but he still let me get some scraps. Side note: Karma came back to me fast because that sugar honey ice tea was spicy. I didn't remember it being this hot, lol.
I went downstairs to the Harry Potter Trivia at 4:30pm. I love Harry Potter. I have all the books and the movies. I love everything about Harry Potter. Best part of Harry Potter - Dumbledore "All this time?" Snape "Always". Shoutout to the Harry Potter fans.
I headed back up to chill with the W's. Then dinner time approached rather fast.
Views from the table. This is the moment when I think about how I don't wanna go back, but I got bills bills bills and need to work.
-
I ran into the W's again and we walked to the aft pool where there were some open chairs.
Chocolate extravaganza!
Back of the Ship Shot!
Aft Pool. If you look to the back of the pool the line to the left is for the Deli. The line to the right is to Tandoor. I refuse to complain about lines because the food is good. I enjoyed the Deli and waited twenty minutes one night, but it was worth it.
Tandoor (Indian cuisine)
Burrito Bar. I didn't hit the Burrito Bar this cruise, but son W said it was good.
Rotisserie (Soul Food). Of course I had some of this. Yum Yum!

This information is useful for those who have not booked and for you those who would consider booking again. Even if OP is already booked; the information can give him a better idea of booking with Carnival again since this is his second time cruising. I saw low last minute prices for December 2016 two weeks before sailings. Otherwise, from my research and what others have posted, in order to get a lower fare/specific room for the Vista; you need to book about a year out. Or have $2000 already saved for a vacation.
