We did the Montserrat and Airport transfer on debarkation day in Oct last year. The bus ride was pretty long and we had about just over an hour at the Monastery. Not enough time to explore elsewhere. Went into the Monastery and walked a bit in there and that's about it. The queue to see the Black Madonna up close was long and we did not try queueing fearing we may make the rest of the group wait for us. They got us to the airport at about 12.30 pm.

We regretted not doing the tour ourselves during the 2 days prior to the cruise. We took the Cruise excursion because our flight was at 10 pm and had time to kill.

Saw a newstand(I think) next to the port drop off point selling BIRG tickets. You can pick it up from there before getiing on the bus or walking to the train station.

The tourist info counter at the train station has 3 desks selling the tickets as well when we were there a week ago.

I have a mobile router (4G) and bought a pre paid data SIM card from Orange for 20 Euros. If I am not wrong, it was for 2 GB data, valid for 1 month. Used it for Google Maps and some Facebook and Whatsapp messaging and there was no need to top up the stored value. No problems with it.

We arrived Barcelona in the evening of 29 Sept from Singapore. Went thru passport control without much of a wait (Airbus A380). They opened extra lines and stamped the passports rsther quickly.

Baggage claim was also pretty fast and we walked out via green lane without being stopped. In all it took about just over 30 minutes from disembarkation to the taxi line. We got to the hotel all within 1 hour from leaving the plane.

We'll go with the Harmony from Barcelona in a week, 18 September. We wonder how early you can get on board? We have a junior suite and platinum members. We have got the checkin time 11:30 to 12:00, but wonder if you can get on board before?

I got 11.00 to 11.30 am check in time. That may be the earliest but am not sure

I didn't get off the ship when the gangway opened at 7:30 because I wasnt on a strict time schedule. It is a 20 minute cab ride from the port to the train station.

If you make sure you get off the train at the right stop you should make it on time.

A couple of questions with regards to the train from Civitavecchia to Rome.

What time did you get off the ship?

Time taken to get from the ship to the train station at the port?

We are also planning to catch the train to Rome to join a 10 am tour of the Vatican and am not sure if we can make it on time.
