Actually, they just decided they would try the teen club right now, so I can report back on that tomorrow! Our kids are 15, 15, and 17 and they usually wouldn't be interested in the teen club, but it is right outside of the YC on 18 and they walked by and kids were playing a video game they liked, so they are checking it out. Our kids have quirky personalities and don't make friends easily (at least compared to how I remember it when we would just all run off from our parents on vacation and start our own temporary tribe!). There are plenty of families here in the YC with kids from 2 on up. I know people say if you have teens they will be happiest on something like a Royal Caribbean ship with all of the things to do. Ours seem to like MSC, but to be fair we haven't taken them on RC. We get them each a Fun Pass to the really nice arcade with all of the virtual reality games ($140 of play for $80 pre-cruise) and they hit the waterslides and drink their weight in Virgin Strawberry Dacquiris. The girls love dressing up and getting their pictures taken every night at the photo stands everywhere. We always get the $140 "download everything for one price" pre-cruise package.

Thank you. My son is 16 and hasn’t been on a cruise since he was little. So, I was a little concerned about him getting “bored”.

  2. Hey everyone!! I hope all is well. I’m looking at booking my excursions for our upcoming cruise in December. I was thinking about getting a cabana when we go to Ocean Cay. We have cabins in the yacht club and I was looking at the yacht club cabanas. So, can you tell me if they are worth the extra money and which one is better (beachfront or ocean view)? I remember seeing in a post that one side is full of rocks and one is closer to the yacht club restaurant, but I can’t remember which one is which. Also, if you can tell me which side is best for water activities such as swimming.

    Thank You,

    D

For the CAB-Cabin Fares line on your confirmation, is the dollar amount an even dollar amount or is it something and whatever cents? (You don't have to give specific dollar amounts)

Recently, I had to call to get the 5%+5% added but it only took 5 minutes to get done and I had a new confirmation email. I also see VOYAGERS EXCLUSIVES for Pax Type but it doesn't show the percentages like it usually does. By calling, I ended up saving over $800 after the discount was added and the taxes and fees were lowered.

I book directly but I can't tell if you are dealing with a travel agent or with MSC reps.

Originally, I had booked online. When I decided to upgrade, I had to call in and speak to a MSC agent so they could modify my current reservation. The cabin fare is an even dollar amount, but it is not the correct amount. I sent them screenshots showing the 2 different prices. So, hopefully, they will give me the discount on my discount on my cabin and my military discount on the other cabin like I asked for. When the rep emailed back the first time, she didn’t address anything or applied any discounts.

Are you sailing in less than 6months?

To get the 5+5 you have to book at least 6 months before. When it comes to discounts making a change after booking requires the discount to be reapplied and the timeframe changes.

My cruise isn’t until December 2023. So, I booked far in advance. Granted it shows for the passenger type voyager exclusives, but the discount was not applied. It is about $600 difference between the two prices. So, yes I want my discount 😊 I wonder how many times they have gotten away with not giving people their discount. And I’m still waiting on response from them.

  5. I’m just wondering if anyone ever had a problem with getting his or her Voyager Discount applied to his or her reservation when booking with an agent? If so, how hard was it for you to get it? What did you do to have it applied?

Just quick run down of my problem…I originally booked 5 of us in the 2 bedroom suite, but later decided to upgrade to the Yacht Club and get a deluxe cabin and an interior cabin. Of course, I went online prior to calling and saw the prices for the reservations with and without my discount. The agents keep telling me that they have my benefits on there, yet the price is the total without the discount. I am currently waiting for someone to email me back. I didn’t think that it would be this hard.

  6. When I went on MSC Seashore in February 2022, I had the trio dining package. I was able to eat at Hola Tacos,  the steakhouse, and the teppanyaki restaurant. Now that I’m thinking about it, I might have had the 4 dining experience package because I remember getting a lobster tail at one of the restaurants and not at the main dining room. I hope this helps.

  7. So, I just booked my 2nd cruise with MSC. This time I booked the Aurea experience level. Does this level include a drink package or would I need to purchase one?

    Thank You,
