  1. Hello,

Lyssa from Perth. RCCL fan as they cater for both my young son and elderly mother. We're done 4 recent cruises and have 5 more in the pipeline.

Mums done a few more (about 15 at last count) but with dad very unwell, I try to take her cruising twice a year to destress. Next one in 50 odd days on Legend of the seas from Hong Kong to Brisbane. Looking forward to Ovation of the seas, a relatively new ship in February 17.

So much ocean and so little cash to pay for it! Guess I'll have to get a second job🤑🤔😣🤕. Hope to catch up with some of you Aussies soon.

    Lyssa.

  2. Hello from down under🇦🇺,

I hated cruising in my twenties😴. Now, with an aging mother and young son, RCCL gives us the best of all worlds😍. Something onboard for each of us. My son loves the other kids in Adventure Ocean, while mum and I can dine in peace after feeding him at windjammer's.

We have completed four cruises, (now emerald level with 2 points to diamond and the lounge) and have five more booked (will be diamond plus on the last one). I must say, I'm particularly looking forward to Ovation in February 2017. We will attempt to book our big US trip onboard. We hope to cruise from Australia to the US, then through Alaska, and finally back to back oasis class around the Caribbean. Not looking forward to the 24 hour flight home😧.

  3. Age : 40 something, a lady never tells

    Location :Perth, Australia

    Career : Registered Nurse

    Family : 8 year old

Last cruise: Voyager, RCCL, April 16 - with a friend and our kids

Next cruise: Legend, RCCL, October 16 - will be a diamond cruiser

Never to young to cruise, just ask my son.

  4. Just to let you know, my mother has 14 points less than me. (Yes think of those trains once again) I'm diamond and mum is emerald. However, she resides at the same address and so gets the same level so long as we share a cabin. Well, until the end of the next cruise when we're both going to be diamond.

  5. Hi all,

I'm happy to report a resolution to the drinks package fiasco:). After much ado, we have been given an on board credit of $USD100 per person affected by the "computer glitch". Personally, Mum and I are happy with this result as we most probably won't spend much over that on alcoholic drinks. I am very pleased with the service and respect offered by RCCL's loyalty ambassador Kathy in this matter. She has come back to me in a timely fashion, using polite language and offering a resolution that is satisfactory to all parties.

Hope this helps anyone else fighting for the same result and that a similar good will gesture is offered to you. I think this shows good judgement on behalf of RCCL to meet it customers half way.

See you all on board in 64 days.

    Regards,

    Lyssa,

  6. Sorry about the typo:o, but I hope it manages to get the message across to RCCL. There are a lot of not happy:mad: guests out here in cyberland who will soon be sailing on their ship.

Mum and I have vowed not to purchace anything extra that goes directly to RCCL. So we will be doing out own tours. I'm even thinking about changing cruise lines for our next cruise this year. At least P&O leave and return to Perth so it means less flying.

Hope to met you all soon.

    Lyssa.

  7. I all, sorry it's taken me so long to respond to your thread.

I also recieved that awful email in March and have been fighting for my rights ever since. After several emails, consisting of "to bad so sad" (real wording "life doesn't always go the way you want" which is just a bad) I have contacted the loyalty department. After upscaling the complaint and recieving the "we will give you an answer in 72 hours" I am no further than anyone else.

Also they say there has not been another complaint. I think a copy and paste of this thread might have disproved that assumption. Thanks for mentioning the 30 people affected by this fiasco.

Did any one go to the authroities or consumer complaints? We intend to lodge in WA if this is not resloved to my satisfaction. How did the Victorian board recieve your complaint?

Finally, being only 2 points off Diamond membership, and with four more curises booked in the next 15 months, we suggested giving us access to the Diamond lounge as compensation. Short answer "not on you life".

I'll be back in a few days to report my findings. I think anyone in Australia reading this should email crownandacnhor.au@rcclapac.com ATTENTION KATHY with your email recipt and any corrospondance with respect to the above. That we be might get somewhere - with an almost class action.

    Regards,

    Lyssa

  8. Hi,

The best info I have managed to find -

It's part of a promotion and because you managed to book within the "special" time period, you've scored the package.

Legend is not that popular thus the "special" on this boat only (Majesty is running a similar "Special" at the moment on European sailings.

I called RCC and they have promised to honour the drinks package.

My travel agent, in this case, has been of little help.

Finally, the package is listed as purchased and paid in full on my itinerary.

    I hope this helps,

    Lyssa

  9. Hi all.

We are on Legend, again :D (sorry, not our favourite ship) in October. Not sure why, but we managed to score the Premium package for ZERO dollars on the web site. It could be due to our membership level with crown and anchor, but I'm not convinced. Every time I go in to look, it comes up as purchased.

Also booked for Voyager in April but can't get the same deal on that one. I have my travel agent looking into it on the QT. Don't want to spoil the other cruise.

We were able to purchase any package on the website once we boarded the ship (any sailing from Australian Waters). To tell the truth, we don't drink enough to make them worth our while. I guess that could be the reason RC has given it to us for nothing.
