  1. Hi

First off we realize the App is not going away and that is fine..but some of us choose to disconnect while on "vacation" and don't want anything to do with our phones.

    1. Maintain option to receive paper Compass. It is far easier to read than app--and appears to be more accurate.

    2. Maintain paper menus for Main Dining Room-classier, far easier to read--and again I don't have to carry my phone. Not to mention it is so sad to see people sitting across from each other at a dinner table staring at their phones instead of actually talking to each other..we don't need more reasons to disconnect from each other.

    3. Consistent enforcement at all US ports of boarding times. Will reduce lines and frustration. If it isn't your time to board yet-have a stand by line. Those who are on time with their boarding time should never have to wait behind others who feel the rules never apply to them.

    4. More Broadway shows! Love them!

    5. Don't ever give up on "smaller" ships such as Radiance class! We love them too. There is a place for the latest, greatest and biggest ships as well as the classic size ships which can go to more ports than the bigger ships do.

    6. Another app suggestion-return the ability to change your loyalty preferences and bed preference (king size vs 2 separate beds) online either on PC or App. Will save you money from having people take up your workers time on phone for simple issue, and save your customers time.

    7. Commitment to not cancel cruises less than a year out to charter the ship. Even though we are compensated supposedly-often the compensation is minimal and the inconvenience of re-arranging plans cannot be overcome.

    8. Have the ability to call Guest Services onboard the ship and have the phone answered and the problem addressed promptly. We realize staffing for this would be very difficult. Perhaps the phones could automatically re-route to a very knowledgable phone center? They could fix most issues-such as improper charges, report maint issues, follow up on issues, etc...it would free up your onboard team.

  2. They are offering price protection if you move to one of 3 other dates surrounding this one, and 100 dollars credit per stateroom. (if price is lower they refund difference--which is very unlikely as prices have gone up on most cruises since we booked, if price is higher they don't charge)

You can also apply whatever you paid towards any other cruise or just get a full refund.

They will also give up to $200 to help pay fees for ticket changes etc. if you provide proof.

Not terrible--but feel $100 credit is pretty cheap considering this is the second year in a row they have cancelled this cruise for a charter. They just need to plan farther in advance.

  3. Thanks! I was real hesitant to go the taxi route for a block or two--expensive and the wait time as well. Especially competing with a train load of people who need taxis/ubers etc all at the same time.  I think we might try the walk/stairs-we do have rollers on the luggage--we will just take it slow.

  4. Hi

We will be taking the train from Seward to Anchorage and arriving around 10pm. We then need to get to the Anchorage Hilton in downtown. We will have 2 big pieces of luggage and a carry on or two. It appears to be a quick walk but i am concerned if we are missing something (hills, hard to drag suitcases on sidewalks perhaps even with rollers?). They don't have a hotel shuttle bus, so our other option would be a taxi. What are your experiences with this?

    Thanks!

  5. Crazy question time about EMED tests before cruise. Has anyone ever failed an EMED test?  if so were you allowed to retake with another box in case it was a false positive? I just didnt know if they blocked you from taking another test since they have your name etc and it might be against their protocol.

  6. Can you check in and select boarding times on one phone's app (mine) and then come back later and fill in the rest of the details on another phone's app (my wifes)? We are on the same reservation but both have the app on our phones. I am guessing i will start the process, but might just have her finish it if I get too busy--or visa versa?

  7. Yes--left Gibraltar after quick stop and now on its way to Port Everglades!! Should be there around March 27th if the trackers are on target. Perhaps to pick up more crew? Then probably through the canal and to Los Angeles. Once it gets to LA it will be ready for its cruise up the coast and on to Alaska!

  8. Hi,

I noticed Radiance of the Seas has traveled from Singapore to Cyprus and is now near Cadiz, Spain! It doesn't have any cruises scheduled till Alaska at the end of April 2022. Does anyone know if it is headed into drydock in Cadiz? Perhaps a mini-amplification? Installation of the Royal App? Interesting!

    Thanks!

  9. On our upcoming Alaska cruise 2021 on Radiance we originally had my time dining. We then discovered that unlike all our past cruises they no longer offer early dining times to select before 630 or so. We then called RC directly and asked to be changed to the early sitting for Traditional dining.

Since we want to ensure everything was changed as asked we pulled up our reservation a few weeks later and don't see any indicator in the reservation or cruise planner that indicates we have traditional dining or a time? When you have my time dining you can see it in the cruise planner-and of course book times. When you have traditional how do you know it and where can you see your dining time--before you get on the ship and receive your cards?

  10. Just returned from cruise on Liberty of the Seas. Was very impressed with Guitarist Voytek (Wojtek Kozikowski). I neglected to buy his CD onboard and can't find it online--anyone know where to purchase one without buying onboard ship??

    thanks
