  1. Congratulations!! Sorry you didn't get your strawberries (to be honest, I ordered them for a romantic surprise on our last cruise and they weren't that great. You didn't miss much in my opinion).

Glad to hear the wedding cooperated and your wedding was wonderful. Do you mind if I ask if you spent much time with your guests during the cruise and how easy or difficult it was to get everyone together? We're only doing a 3 day cruise for our wedding in September and have 34 guests booked already.

I actually spent a good amount of time with our guests. If the boat was any bigger, I think it would have been an issue. We had regular bars that we would go to so you pretty much saw the majority throughout the day. There were some guests that I barely saw but I think that's because they wanted to do their own thing. I felt at times that I was always looking for certain people but they are there for you and you shouldn't be chasing them.

  2. We just got back from our wedding cruise on the Carnival Elation to the Bahamas. We were lucky enough to have 40 guests attend our cruise wedding. We were married on the 7th while at port in Nassau and I couldn't have asked for a better day. The weather was amazing, the food was amazing and the wedding department and on-board staff were awesome. We were supposed to receive chocolate covered strawberries with our bottle of champagne and never received our strawberries. It was also formal night in the seated dinning area which made it even more perfect.

  3. I would have loved a USVI wedding but after we starting pricing it out for our guests, it became way too much. The wedding packages were always reasonable. I'm having a cruise wedding in the Bahamas because it was affordable for us and our guests and the least amount of stress. We invited 83, 22 have booked... we expect maybe 30 attending. Keeping it small :)

  4. I would recommend you take your price list with you because we only booked our wedding 5 months out and still the prices increased significantly between what they originally sent us and what we were presented on board. Thankfully, I took everything with me, so they honored the pricelist I was sent.

    That's a good idea!!! Thanks.

  5. We had 4 tiers - top was coconut cake with coconut filling, next was lemon with cream cheese filling, next was marble with chocolate filling, next was butter/vanilla with strawberry filling - ALL AMAZING!

Did you have to make a special request for 4 different tiers? For under 50 people, we get 2 tiers and it only allows us to select one option for cake flavor and filling.

  6. Im leaning towards doing a Carnival cruise. Spring of '17 is when I'm hoping to get married . Not sure about geographic region yet.. Im up in the air about an onboard or on land wedding. I guess it all depends on where i want to go right? Im thinking on board would be the easiest with having guest. Wouldn't want them to have to worry about transportation to get the the wedding location..

The reason we are choosing a cruise is because its cheaper than a traditional wedding and we've always wanted to take one, so why not just get married on my first cruise?! :)

I'm getting married in January onboard the cruise in Nassau. The logistics for us were a little complicated with a group of 40 if we chose to have it on the beach. We requested to have the wedding start at 11 and it end at 12:30 that way our guests can get off the boat and see Nassau for a few hours. I also considered an embarkment day wedding but again the logistics were more than I wanted to deal with. I think it depends on the number of guests, where your ports are, and what you are willing to compromise.

  7. Ours is 5 nights and two ports. But with excursions and alcohol and pictures etc I would say anything will help. I also registered for a couples massage on board or an upgrade for dinner... so it wasn't just money specific. That said, if you are a younger bride and need stuff for a life together, your best bet may be to grab the scanner!

You can check out the registry if you like... I haven't added any others to the site yet, but will be.

I didn't even think about using the carnival registry for the photographs!!! My fiancé and I actually already did the scanning/registry thing and now we are rethinking it. I don't think we will have a bridal shower and we already have everything we need for our house.

  8. O.M.G. hahahahahaahaha They do eat people alive over there for that!!! Some of it is a lil bit uncalled for. Personally I've already set one up on Carnivals and attached it to my webpage, which also says "we have everything we need, but for the traditional gift giver" and will have other options for registries to chose from.

I agree with them about not putting it on invites or anything... but a link in the registry section of my webpage is not a big deal to me, and if they think so they can pound sand.. if someone wants to get their gift there for us.. have at it.. if they chose to give nothing.. that is fine too.

I happen to be inviting a lot of avid cruisers to my wedding also, who I personally think would think it was pretty cool they could do this in lieu of a gift if they choose... so I will choose not to listen to a bunch of young girls with zero life experience who think their wedding day is the "biggest" day of their lives. LOL They do make me laugh though.

How long is your wedding cruise? Ours is only 4 nights and 2 ports and any gifts through the honeyfund would go towards the one day of excursions and onboard expenses. So I'm hesitant if that's even worth it.

  9. I really think it depends on the couple and their circumstances. For example, my fiance and I live in Australia. We've been together 7 years, (almost 8 by the time we get married) and have been living together for 4 years, own 2 houses and both are pretty well established.

Our wedding is in Vegas and the last thing we want to have to haul gifts halfway across the world, excess luggage is expensive! LOL

Also, by the time we get married I'll be 37 and he'll be 40.

If I was in my 20s, it would be totally different, Give me that scan gun!! LOL

    Isabel:D

Just don't post honeyfunds on wedding wire forums. You'll get eaten alive. We aren't doing a registry now and probably not a cruise fund either.
