  1. I've spent a few weeks on St Maarten and stopped there several times as a cruise port, so I'm somewhat familiar with the island.

I'm thinking of trying a day trip to Anguilla when the Carnival Freedom ports in December 2014. I'm imagining it would be somewhat similar to a cat sail from St Kitts to Nevis that I did several years back.

Anyone island hop from St Maarten to Anguilla? One company I'm looking at is St Thomas Excursions/ Swaliga2 Anguilla Snorkel Extravaganza. Anyone out there who's attempted this? Three snorkel/beach stops for $99, lunch available for an extra $19, must have passport, claims to return by 4PM, Freedom leaves @ 6 that evening.

I didn't do this excursion, but I did stay in Anguilla for 10 days and it is B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L well the beaches and water are. If you have already been to St. Maarteen, check out Anguilla. I don't think you would be dissapointed. I think I may check out this excursion myself

  2. I'm thinking about spending some time at the Boat Yard for some fun in the sun, but I want to know if there are any other recomendations for maybe a nicer beach where we can start out our day. From what I can see, the beaches in Barbados are amazing and I wouldn't want to miss out just for a little more entertainment. We love calm seas, white sand, the option to have a few cocktails on the beach and maybe stand up paddleboard surfing but not neccasary since I see that Boat Yard has some water toys. All feedback is greatly appreciated.

  3. My husband and I are sailing on the Breeze for the second time. This time we booked a spa balcony on Deck 12. Room #1230. Please give me your feedback. We are so excited to have a spa balcony. Thanks.

I had a Spa Suite on the Breeze and absolutely loved it. The color choices in the cabin are perfect and not the usual burnt orange. Take advantage of the spa ammenities that you use. I personally think the Breeze has the best Spa and Spa Cabins. Enjoy!

  4. I've done the Valor, and it was my honeymoon. We originally had an aft balcony (not the wrap). Due to a huge price drop (Thanks Triumph!) we upgraded to a suite. (Deck 7)

It is a very port intensive cruise, and we didn't spend much time in our room. If you do Any time dining ask for Alberto for a server.

Anyways if you want some info on the excursions we booked, PM me and I'll send them to you.

We rarely spend anytime in the room. I do like a little more space though. We had a Spa Suite on the Breeze and it was perfect. That wrap around deck is amazing!! One of these days :-)

I was on the Valor years ago - was hoping it would have the 2.0 upgrades for our Honeymoon, but either way, we will be happy :-)

I would absolutely love for info on excursions. That would be awesome! Thank you so much!

  5. Thank you all so much! We decided to go with the OS. It was only about $200 more or less. We chose this over the aft because the sailing is very port intense and we didn't think we would get too much use out of the balcony. I am still going back and forth in my head, wondering if we should have booked the aft balcony. But there is no turning back now because of those ES rates. Maybe the price for the GS will go down before it's all booked :-)

  6. Thank you all so much! We ended up booking the OS. The wrap around is amazing, and I hope one day in the future we get to experience that cabin. But what it came down to was that this sailing is so port intense that we probably won't get too much use out of the balcony. I would love to upgrade to the GS but for now, we will settle for the OS. Can't wait to sail again. :-)

  7. Thank you all for your quick reply and feed back and thank you for your well wishes :-)

Good point on the itinerary - with that being said, there won't be too much time during the day spent on the balcony, but the mornings when we pull into sea and when we leave - I bet it will be nice and not sure if we will ever go this "big" again. I'd rather not go with a standard balcony.

The Premium Vista I believe is cabin 6452. But it could be the same catagory as the one you mention.

It all comes down to a nice large room or the extra large balcony. I am wondering if they all have the same views. I didn't know about that site, so I will definately check that out.

    Thanks everyone! Super excited!

  8. I am ready to book a cruise on the Valor for part 1 of our Honeymoon. Our options are Grand Suite, Ocean Suite or Premium Vista Balcony. The Grand Suite seems to have a very nice layout and a lot of space in the cabin. The OS seems to mirror that, only is a bit smaller and price is much lower. The Premium Vista Balcony should have panaramic views of the ocean and a huge balcony. But accroding to Carnivals sight - the balacony is smaller then the Grand Suite. Has anyone stayed in any of these cabins? When I look at the layout of each cabin, the Grand Suite defiantely does not match up to the description that I see on Carnivals site.

It says GS - 345 sq ft, balcony 85 sq ft

OS - 275 sq ft, balcony 65 sq

Premium Vista 185 sq ft, balcony 75 sq ft

This appears wrong. Has anyone stayed in these rooms and can give me more feedback or know of a good site to get more info on the cabins? Real traveler pics?

  9. Doubletree (and next door Marriott) are walkable, but much more than across the street like the Holiday Inn and the IC, or even the Hyatt. Maybe 10-15 minutes (and I would take a cab back after dark). Google maps should give you an exact view of the area. Good luck! :)

    Thanks so much!

  10. Thanks Jonin. SAS and QAS only services the airport and surrounding hotels. I have reservations for airport downtown Miami post cruise. Unfortunatly, they do not provide service to any of the Beach Hotels. I will call Larry's Limo. I've used his service in the past but I think it's well over $100.00. The hotel will provide a sadan for $160.00. That's way out of my league :-)

  11. Looking for a list of hotels that are either across the street from Bayside Market or a short walking distance. Would love a hotel with a pool that gets a lot of sun. Was thinking of IC or Doubletree but not sure how close Doubletree is. All feedback is appreciated :)

  12. We have been in the aft cabins for the Conquest/Glory/Freedom and you can feel the vibration when the ship is parallel parking in port. We were in 6485 on the Conquest/Glory and 6483 on the Freedom. The views and deckspace are definatly worth dealing with the slight vibrations.

We are looking forward to our aft cabin on the Dream in a few months! We are in 8477 (I think).

I am looking for pics of the cabin you mentioned for the Glory. Do you have pictures? Would you suggest this over a regular balcony? I normally go with mid ship balcony, but thinking about trying out the aft. I'm afraid that being aft it might be a little more motion then mid ship. But on the other hand, I'm all about a beautiful view.
