We had a cruise end in Seward, and stayed there for 3 days after. Seward was our favorite place in Alaska (and we even went to Denali!). They have a pretty cool aquarium, the Kenai Fjord National Park is there and there are 2 hikes you can do.. a really intense hike that takes you to a glacier (it took us 6 hours round trip), but there is a shorter hike that everyone can do and you can still see the glacier. They also have a wildlife whalewatching boat tour that takes you to see all kinds of wildlife including whales, puffins, mountain goals, seals, etc. It was VERY cool.

That is how it shows your converted cruises. What are you seeing as your total points?
That is what happened! Total I have 39 cruise points from the other cruises, and then with the "8" that shows as 1, it gives me 47.
This makes more sense. But its just weird because when we were on our last cruise in 2019, it appeared that I had 54 points and my next one would have given me emerald status.. so maybe they had mistakenly given me the additional points and figured it out and took them away. We haven't sailed in suites or on special crusies so none of ours should be double points.
Poop. 2 more cruises to the next level I guess!
Thanks all for clearing that up 🙂

This doesnt make sense though. My 4 night (i had it wrong on the other post) only lists total points as 1.
According to you, i should have had at least 1 credit since this was my first cruise, which should be x7, plus 1 extra.. so this should be 8, but I only have 1.

I just emailed them to ask about why my oldest cruise from 2009 is only 1 point now for a 5 day cruise. At least then ill have an explanation.

This is what I did. It doesn't state anywhere about having to make a case, but the form does have an area for providing documentation... this does concern me. But, we'll find out in 27 days what happens!

I was one of the unlucky ones that was on the tarmac to fly to Miami for the Getaway, when we found out the cruise was cancelled. We always knew it was possible, but didnt really believe it. We decided we were already packed and changed course and flew to Cancun the next day for an all inclusive instead.
We have put in a case request to convert our FCC to a refund. Three cancelled cruises is enough for me. We are starting a family and cannot cruise after 24 weeks gestation, and likely would not be able to cruise for a period of time after that. They've had my money tied up long enough. Its a shame, we were really looking forward to trying NCL, but with the price inflation and more or less lack of flexibility, we're done trying to cruise for a little while.

That is an amazing play by play! Congratulations to you @jumbojem96!! Enjoy your cruise!!!!! I did the same. I checked every day last week to see what rooms were still available and increased and decreased bids a lot. I think thats why some people got their acceptance bids yesterday at 7 am and it took until 430 p EST for me to get mine! I was mad all day checking my email and the upgrades website! lol.
For the record, for our cruise (the Getaway, Jan 5 sailing) min bids for Haven were 600pp, max bids ranged from 2100-3100 pp. Bidding 850 got us out of the poor to "fair" category. When i was checking from last wednesday, we had:
9 courtyard rooms
1 penthouse balcony
1 haven spa (sometimes.. most of the time i would get an error when i clicked on this category but it never stated "sold out")
2 haven forwards
3 haven afts
the deluxe suites were sold out,
7 2 br villa (i did not bid on this.. since there are only 2 of us).
Our highest bids were on the spa (we really wanted the thermal suite pass) and the courtyard since we knew we had the highest chance there. The other categories we bid 750-800pp since we had the 700pp FCC. We decreased some bids after the cancellation news came out, hoping more rooms would become available and we would get accepted, but we still kept a few as "fair" bids because we did not want to risk losing out. We mgiht have been able to get it for cheaper, but we are totally OK with what we spent!
Happy cruising all! Stay Safe and Healthy!

The Bahamas also requires you to apply for a Health Visa and purchase their COVID insurance. But not for port calls.
Very True! I guess I should have read between the lines.. but its so crazy these days, who knows what they are thinking.

Right now you can also use it for upgrades if you have a cruise scheduled. This is a short term policy though. We used our leftovers to get an upgrade to the Haven. I do not recall when they said they were no longer going to allow FCC to be used for that.. there was a little disclaimer but I read over it lol.

Congrats!!! Did you get the upgrade you wanted?
Yes! 🙂 We upgraded from a regular Balcony to a Haven suite. We bid on almost all haven categories (poor to fair bids), and they accepted this for $1000. We originally bid the FCC we had leftover only (700pp) but after reading about how wonderful the haven was, we decided we didnt want to lose out and we could afford a couple extra hundred each. We are SO excited! We have one of the courtyard rooms.

This is not for cruiseship passengers embarking in the US.
Can you provide the link to that documentation that it doesnt apply? Just curious. It doesn't state that anywhere on their official government website.

After waiting all day long, when the first person that posted at 7 this morning got their upgrade for the Getaway leaving Jan 5, at 430 I finally got my upgrade email!! So, they definitely process all day long. Last week it looked like they were processing 5 days out, but I think the holiday definitely threw a wrench into that. So expect anywhere from 2-5 days before your sail date to get the upgrade emails 🙂 especially in this ever-changing environment and all the cancellations. Good luck all! I'll see some of you on the Getaway on Wednesday! 😄

I got it! $1500 per person was the bid.
Mine are all still pending 😞 I'm anxiously waiting! Congrats though!! We bid on almost all of the Haven categories. We're keeping our fingers crossed!

Once I was checked in and waiting in the terminal, that Wi-Fi did not work even though it showed I was connected. I could not connect to the ship's Wi-Fi in the terminal. I also had really terrible cell service (Mint/T-Mobile) in the terminal.
Oh dang, thats a bummer! 😞 I have T-mobile too. Oh well. Thanks for responding!!

Does anyone know if there is Wi-Fi in the terminal? We’re one of the early testers and we are anticipating delays because flexibility is important. Might as well get paid while I wait to go on vacation 😆

We're on the cruise from the 5-14. It seems like NCL is having a bit better luck than other cruise lines with outbreaks.. probably because of the testing beforehand and 100% required vaccination rate. We get our rapid tests today, so fingers crossed we're all good to go! From what i've read, the thermal spa is open and they really arent requiring masks but have the super limited capacity. Also part of me thinks others will have cancelled like the OP and there should be lower capacity. We'll see 🙂 fingers crossed it will all be ok!!

Thank you guys! I appreciate the input 🙂

I have only made it about 30 pages through this topic so far; but it’s unclear to me. If we only have the premium beverage package (that comes free at sea), but we have the haven access (I am crossing my fingers and toes for a bid upgrade!), do we need the premium plus package for water? It sounds like you get free bottled water in your room if you have the haven, or you can ask your butler for iced water in a pitcher. Is this the case?
thanks!

I agree! Now i feel like my bids may be too high, with people likely cancelling. the Temp on the boards doesnt seem that high for people cancelling in the next two weeks, however I think most CC cruisers are avid cruisers that wouldnt cancel anyways. They are not the general population.

I think the next group to get upgrades is my cruise, the Getaway on Jan 5. We're all anxiously waiting!!! Dang Holiday 😉 Happy New Year all!

We leave on the 5th and even though last week I wanted so badly for them to allow us to cancel, now we are set to go. If they had done this before Christmas, we would have cancelled. But now we are ready. We were able to get ahold of some proctored at home kits thanks to CC. We would have been out hotel and airfare regardless, so now we just want to go. We are crossing our fingers and toes they accept our haven upgrade, and we’re starting to get excited, even if it ends up being almost all at sea! Best part is, for those that don’t feel comfortable, they do get to cancel, and the less people on the ship, the better for us! Enjoy your cruise!!!

CarolinaMamma, thank you so much! I am concerned of your exact scenario! 4-5 days for CVS PCR results (through Quest! :() and we are flying to miami the day before. Fingers crossed they get here by Monday, since we leave on tuesday! 🙂 My husband told me not to order them but I did anyways, because I woke up with a sore throat this morning.. it has since disappeared, so I am crossing my fingers it was just open mouth sleeping.

That looks so nice! Is that an area that you reserve from an excursion to visit? Or can you just walk up and purchase a bed or umbrella?
