Thanks everyone I found the way to select dining after I paid the deposit
I did select the any time dining in case wewere running late rushing after our day
Plus I imagine our kids will get a taste of camp life and prefer dining there allowing me and hubby time to enjoy a later dinner or drinks
I can't wait
I am armed with my book and I'm sure you will see my questions pop up from time to time
If I can figure out a way to PM that may help
So sorry, just now seeing this....I don’t remember your dates, but love.2.sew.also@gmail.com is my email...for WDW planning advice....

So, before my mother passed away from cancer, she purchased cruise fare for my sister and I's families. She wanted it to be a Christmas morning surprise, we sail 12/30...she wanted the kids to do a scavenger hunt, ending with a carnival Vista Ship on a stick. Does anyone have one they would sell to me??? I've been stalking ebay, but am having no luck. Help!!!!

I had the blurred vision from the patch...have taken Bonnine last 2 cruises and it's been fine...I can't ride in a car without getting sick and Bonine takes care of it.

Love it that a 10 year old has a wish list for Nevis..... and a history lesson to boot. It was a great cruise, thanks for the kudo's, loved doing the review.
Well...I'm taking her to Nevis...Carnival Vista sailing 12/30/17!

I must keep my 10 year old off CC....she started reading your review, where I had left off and came running out insisting we go to that cat island..."Mom, that cat island, St. Kitts ...they have an excursion to Nevis!!! I need to go to Nevis....that s where Alexander Hamilton was born!" Darn musical...but now I want to go on Vista, and she wants to go on that itinerary...so I'd better start saving! Great review!!!! Thank you so much for writing it!

If you haven't done WDW, it is a much harder week to plan than a cruise...feel free to pm me and I'll give you some great sites/podcasts to listen to....my mom refuses to plan Disney.... But loves to plan the cruise...we leave in 24 days....and I am still not done with touring plans...moms had the cruis done for months! Thanks to cruise critic!!!

We just did RCI IN 2015....and my kids begged to go back to Carnival....we are on Magic 6/17....after a week at WDW.... We did the opposite last time, and I learned that we WDW first, so we can relax after on a cruise. My teens are waterfall jumping with dad at Amber Cove, and my little and I are hanging at the pool and Grandmas over the water cabana! I'll be happy to share all about kids stuff(she is 10) when we get back with you...:)

OP....Dave Ramsey would be proud! You go girl!!!

Just FYI, you can carry on 12 cans or cartons of up to 12 oz non alcoholic beverages. NO BOTTLES. You can also carry on a 750 ml bottle of wine or champagne/pp over 21. You can purchase bottled water from BV, I believe it is $2.99 for a 12 pack, but don't quote me. It will be waiting for you in your cabin. Coffee, tea, dispenser water, iced tea and hot chocolate are available 24/7 from Lido. Breakfast offers the usual juices, then they switch out to lemonade and ice tea for lunch. I love making my own Arnold Palmer! You will have a carafe of water on your table at dinner and ice tea or lemonade is available for the asking. Unless you REALLY love milkshakes, specialty coffees and bottled water, Cheers does not seem like a good deal for you. If you drink one glass of wine a night, you can probably rely on the wine you brought on with you, then just purchase a drink or two. JMO.
I purchased water 12 packs online last night...$4.50 a 12pack.

Thank You so much for posting such a great review! I am taking my 17/15 ds/dd on this cruise, so I enjoyed hearing the teens perspective. LOL, my teens are former competition dancers...my daughter switching to high school cheer(NCA High School National Champions...so a smart switch) and my son has retired from competition to take a contract with our professional ballet company(also, for him, a wise choice!). I am sure they will enjoy the show...unless they see things they want to correct...such dance snobs!
I can't wait to go on the cruise....thanks for sharing so much of your experience! :)

Geez, I meant goodies, not hoodies! Ack! Did your kiddos do much at camp ocean? My daughter, 10, is looking forward to it! Hoping it will be lots of fun! Thank you so much for posting fun times and kids fun times....it is so helpful to this overplanner! ;)

Anyone want the schedule for Camp Ocean Sharks (Ages 9-11)? I'll attach it below
Thank You!!!!! I needed this!!! What were the hoodies you mentioned that the kids got the first day?

Having cruised both, my teens chose carnival this time, they both missed the water slides and the 24 hour pizza and ice cream....they love cruising, but I think the vibe is better for teens than rcci. 58 days until magic!

I am taking my 17 year old boy and 15 year old girl and 10 year old girl on Magic this summer...my" bigs" love cruising...and often just hang together...my little loves the kids clubs...and even though she can sign out...that is only for kids club activities for her...otherwise a "big" or a parent must come get her. My have signing privileges, but have never abused it. They know the wrath that would be upon them! We do have passports for everyone, but my "bigs" are adopted internationally, so we have lots of crap that happens at security every time. We carry adoption papers etc....uhg.
We are looking forward to this summer's adventure...

We are traveling this summer with our teens, Boy 17, Girl 15...and this is my thought on it...if you have a solo teen child...take a friend. Fortunately my "bigs"(we have a little too...) are good friends so it works...if they find friends, great...if not, they have each other...this has saved us on other cruises with them. We had friends who cruised with their solo daughter (14) and she was miserable...but had she had a friend with, it would have been so much more fun.
Each line is a little different...we have done RCI with teens, and this summer are sailing Carnival with them(we wanted more water slides, not surfing machines!). Teens found RCI teen group fun, but spent a lot of time with the family. We all had a great time, though...
Shore excursions we loved...cabana's...everyone loves cabana days...we also did a speed boat ride to a private island(boat did 360's and such..) was a blast! We did dolphin swim, liked it...but not the favorite. My daughter loved zip lining, her brother, doesn't like heights, so he did the video game tourney on the ship and won 1st place...
We had a great time cruising with teens....I would say best vacation ever...and they agree! :)

While I would not choose to do this(my kids would never want to leave WDW that quickly) it is doable. If you want the Disney magic...I would choose Magic Kingdom, I would have bought tickets in advance, and have planned FastPass+ choices 30 days ahead, in the sweet spot of time. I agree that you get there, watch the Parade...and then ride what you can...
for a 4 year old, plan to spend your time in Fantasyland. You want a FP+ for :Peter Pan, Dumbo, and meeting Cinderella at the Fairytale Hall. Plan on seeing Mickey's Phillarmagic(never a line), It's a Small World(very rarely a line) and if you can swing a 4th FP+(after you rode, and saw Princess') ride Winnie the Pooh.
You will be now out of time!
Plan on NOT eating at the parks...pack snacks in bags, and eat a BIG lunch before you go on the ship...eating at a park, even quick service will take you an hour...no way around this!
This will be a push push push day...plan nothing the next day because you all will be exhausted...
While a crazy idea, if you need to do it...I get it...
there is nothing like standing, watching your little, staring up at the castle....nothing.... :)
Good Luck...next time sail from Port Canaveral and add a few days prior or after for a WDW stop....
:)Mary Anne (cruise lover and huge WDW fanatic!)

I would consider the pop package...my kids...who have cruised since 3 yrs old...think that is heaven....all the pop you can drink! ;)
-
Does Port Canaveral have staggered check in? We are sailing out of there January 2018 and it does not give me a check in time either.

Yes, but it may be too early for it to show up. But, YES Port Canaveral has Staggered Check in...:)

:) My very picky 16 year old...ate chicken fingers in the dining room...and my picky 8 year old ate plain noodles... ;) and lots of ice cream!

When were on Freedom Christmas Week 2015, my daughter who was 8 used the kids club a lot(she loves it) but I did notice there were several sessions that the age groups were combined, due to the low numbers of children using the kids clubs. Being a holiday week, I think a lot of families just didn't use adventure ocean...but Katy loves it...so she goes!

We had a over the water cabana at Nellie's beach at Labadee...and it was perfect! It was so nice to have a "home" to dump stuff...it's a cove, so no huge waves...the sand was wonderful...we had a fantastic day and it has been the favorite port ever for my family! As a mom, and a early childhood educator...it's the perfect place for a family day on Labadee!
Jamaica....we didn't get off the ship... ;)
