  1. I love this thread... I'm also in the same position... 1st cruise was with Royal in 2003, then the rest with Carnival, and I have my 7th cruise booked with Royal next spring break. I have to say I'm kind of nervous! I hope that I'll have the same kind of fun I have all day long and all night long as I have on Carnival. I kind of had a moment with some not very fun people on Royal the first time. But overall, it was a great cruise but I was also on my honeymoon... I'm more about having fun and meeting new people now than a romantic vacation like I was before.

  2. I'm interested in knowing more about the differences. My first cruise was with Royal in 2003, but since then I've been on Carnival 4 times with a 5th booked. I also have a cruise with Royal booked for next year, so I really would like to learn more about the differences between them. I agree with your Carnival pros, which makes me a little nervous about next year on Royal, but I'm sure I'll still have fun.

  3. Good luck Maria... I also went through a divorce and it's all good now. We even get along just fine and have a 7 yr old son. My first two cruises were with him, then a long break, then the next one was with a group of friends, and the last one was solo. It was good. I'm going in March as a single mom taking my son for his first cruise. Good luck to you!

  4. I also would like to know this. I've just been going on shorter cruises but will go on a 7 night cruise in March. On the Carnival cruises I've been on recently there was a 70s/disco night and a white party (wear white). They may have done a country night but can't remember for sure. Anything else I should be prepared for?

  5. This will be my first spring break cruise and first time bringing my son (7 yo). I cruised in Feb this year out of Galveston on the Triumph (Super Bowl cruise) and there were lots of people around the pool when we left and at sea. It got cold as we returned though but I actually spent most of our last sea day in the hot tub on the cool misty day. I'm looking forward to a March cruise! I'm going on the Freedom this time.

  6. I've been on the Triumph twice, once before the renovation and once after. The first time I traveled with 10 people, and 6 of us shared two suites 7267 and 7269 (3 people in each). I actually met someone I started dating in 7271 (he was part of a 10 person bachelor party and 5 of them stayed in that room, so they had an extra mattress for the floor but I wouldn't recommend more than 3-4 people). All three suites were fantastic. I loved the views, they have the larger bathroom and dressing room area, the mini-bar (these rooms have a fridge and the regular rooms don't), and the balconies were great. We connected the balconies so it was really fabulous and a great gathering area for our groups. I would definitely recommend these rooms and others like it!!!!! PS my other cruise-mates stayed in a regular balcony room on 7, which was alright, and an aft balcony room on 8 I think - that room was pretty cool.

Last time I traveled alone and stayed in a regular balcony room 8358. It was nice for being by myself, but it was not like the suite. I especially missed the the fridge and bigger bathroom vanity area and tub (this one has just a shower so not as much space to move around).

  7. I'm going on the Carnival Triumph on 2/1/14 by myself. I'm a 35 yo divorced mom of a 6 year old (who is going on a separate vacation with his dad at the same time). Last time I went with a mostly single group of co-workers and I met someone there on a bachelor party (dated for a while afterwards). I kind of hope something similar happens this time around! :-)
