  1. I have been hoping for this for a while but wish they could put a Radiance class ship in Galveston for these shorter cruises. With the growth of the market, I'm surprised we don't see RC building more ships. The older and smaller ships have to be reaching limits. You can see a need in the fact they brought back Empress of the Seas. Would love to see Celebrity bring a Solstice ship to Galveston. I've done one Carnival 5 night out of Galveston and it was a great cruise but I'm a Loyal Royal and will be Diamond level after my Liberty of the Seas cruise in late August so 4 and 5 nights at great prices with the potential of upgrades? Sign me up!

  2. Well, in my mind it was the Pacific Princess from The Love Boat. My grandmother sailed her and brought menus home for me and I spent every week soaking up the adventures on her from my living room. My actual first time at sea was on the MS Matanuska ferry before I started my freshman year. It felt like a cruise...lol. My first real cruise was on Majesty of the Seas back in the early 2000's.

  3. In my humble opinion, it's about clicking with the bartenders...every cruise I've enjoyed different bars...on Liberty it was the Champagne Bar, on Mariner the Schooner Bar and most recently on Freedom back in May, it was the Crown Lounge (Olive or Twist) sitting at the bar, not the lounge area. If Hasan and J.R. are still working, the have really great personalities and made every evening fun. But, they might not fit your persona so check out the different places and see how it goes.

  4. Was on this wonderful ship on the May 17 sailing. The captain seemed to run a tight ship and I guess it shows from the handling of this event. Every cruise we spend time in a particular bar based on the staff. On our sailing in May we spent most of our nights at Olive or Twist in the Viking Crown with Hasan and J.R. I sent Hasan a message on Facebook to see how the VK is but haven't heard back yet. I'm sure they are busy as someone posted about smoke in the VK. If anyone on board has any info, I would love to hear!

  5. Can anyone tell me how far it is from the Alamo car hire drop off to the cruise terminal. Do we need a taxi or is it walking distance. Thank you.

I called them directly and he said on days when ships are in port they run a complimentary shuttle. I'm picking up a car at Orlando airport the day before and dropping off at the Cape Canaveral location as well. Got the car from Alamo on PL for $10 plus fees for a day. Great savings versus airport transfers!
