  1. I'm cruising western carribean for the first time, Honduras, Belize, Costa Maya and cozumel. I've shopped for jewelry in areas like St Thomas and St Croix and have never had an issue. Can anybody tell me which port would be best for buying jewelry in western Caribbean? I don't want to get ripped off.

  2. I disembarked the Allure yesterday, had a FANTASTIC cruise, but got a nasty surprise getting my luggage at the port. This was my first cruise that I didn't walk my own luggage off; i usually prefer to keep my bags with me but I had too many this time to manage on my own. I filled out my luggage tags properly, had my bags out by the deadline, and everything went smoothly. However, when I disembarked and went to claim my luggage, I found 3 of my bags with no problem, but I couldn't locate my big suitcase that the bulk of my clothes were in.

I saw a suitcase I thought looked like mine, but it had someone else's name and tag on it. When I got into panic mode, I took a closer look and was convinced it was my bag. I opened one of the compartments to view the contents, and sure enough, it WAS my bag. My luggage tag had been completely removed and replaced with another guest's tag!

I may be blowing this out of proportion but I felt so violated! Was that guest trying to steal my bag? Did my tag break off and Royal Caribbean simply put someone else's on there? I was just so glad I got to the bag first.

To make it worse one of the agents inside yelled across the room at me that I wasn't allowed to open bags, implying that I might be trying to pilfer someone else

Anyone else ever have something like this happen?

I'm sorry for what happened but I gotta say that what you did by opening up the suitcase was wrong. You should have asked for help. I'm pretty sure you would be angry if someone opened your suitcase. Next time ask for help

  3. Which is absolutely disgusting to me  And that cost will be passed right along to us as well. You can believe that!

I expect many people will be cut off from drinking, drink packages may now come with a limit and all kinds of stuff happening if thats the way it pans out.

Someone can correct me if Im wrong but the above policy was written shortly after George Smith disappeared off of Brilliance. Along that same time I believe allowing bottles of liquor to be purchased was axed too. We will all feel this in some kind of way.

I dont see how these disgusting ambulance chasing attorneys sleep at night!

I agree.. We all have to suffer for someone else's stupidity

  4. Pretty much this. I've been on both sides of the fence - plaintiff's personal injury/workers' comp and defense/in-house counsel and it wouldn't surprise me if, after a few rounds of discovery, RCI and plaintiff's counsel entered into some settlement negotiations. Elbaz gets some cash for loss of consortium in return for a non-disparagement agreement, RCI gets controlled costs and does an internal review, and that's that.

That's horrible that someone can profit from someone else's death which was a suicide. Both the attorney and the husband should be ashamed of themselves.

  5. Not true. Maybe they elected not to dine in the MDR on Formal Evenings. We've seen plenty of Cruisers in the MDR on formal evening dressed Casually. It's not a big deal. Some posters on CC have even mentioned that the Head Waiters have encouraged them to dine in the MDR even if they were not dressed IAW the suggested evening dress guidelines for the MDR.

I had a friend who wouldn't go because they couldn't afford to buy formal wear but they were to embarrassed to walk in dining room under dressed. They didn't know you didn't have to wear formal wear. It doesn't say casual wear optional.

  6. Here is a photo of a Deck 7 balcony on the Allure (identical to Oasis). That's my husband and he is 5'7". The white bar is the top of the balcony.

Sorry. Someone doesn't just fall out and on to a lifeboat. They jump or they are pushed. I think alcohol plus rage (over some real or perceived incident) made him threaten to jump. Perhaps from that point he fell or actually jumped thinking he could land on a lifeboat.

I agree.. He had to have climbed up on the balcony and then fell or actually jumpedjumped. I can't see a crew member actually picking him up and throwing him over the railing, that's just ridiculous

  7. That explains a lot more then the other video, it definitely sounds like the crew had something to do with it

I definitely think the crew was there and trying to resolve a domestic issue but I don't believe that actually, physically did anything. I think he got up on the balcony edge threatening to jump but probably never really intended too. When someone isis intoxicated they do some stupid stuff.

  8. I don't think anyone should make accusations of suicide or otherwise until all the facts are known the video clearly shows he was not with his wife as previously stated he was with his husband and it was his husband that was yelling it was not the person overboard so please refrain from making any quick judgments against the person or Royal because we don't know all the facts we know what the video is a small clip horrific accident or possibly more but we don't know here's a clip I retrieved from YouTube with the audio captioned and you can understand a little more detail
but please be cautioned it is graphic.
