I have been looking forward to our 5/14/22 30th anniversary cruise since I booked it in April of 2022, while I was in the middle of my chemo journey. I decided to roll the dice and pay my full fare on the 10th of this month, and OF COURSE the cruises were canceled again through 4/2 the very next week.
Â
I have purchased airfare and we are going to Hawaii (probably a once-in-a-lifetime trip) one way or the other. I am busily working out a Plan B land itinerary.Â

We have POA booked for 5/14/22, and we're planning to fly in on 5/9. If the guideline remains the same, I think my best bet would be eMed. It's a little scary, but I also don't want to think about other people who might be positive getting on the ship, so I guess this is the price we have to pay. 😑

We booked for our 30th anniversary in 2022! I'm already so excited about it!

You and Patti are in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you!

I've booked a December cruise this balcony cabin. It is directly behind the elevators, several cabins away from the atrium. Has anyone been in this cabin or one very near it? My ideal location -- Deck 7 --is not available. I chose this cabin because it looked like the best available option, with cabins above and below. However, the location does concern me. Could it possibly be very loud, being behind the elevators and relatively near the atrium?

I always love your reviews! They're fun to read and also very informative. Thanks to your great writing and Patti's great photos, I just booked a Half Moon Cay Cabana for our mother-daughter cruise in December. 🙂 I'm also considering the Warwick for Nassau. I appreciate the time and effort you put into these for us.

So glad you had a great father-son trip! My daughter and I took a weeklong mother-daughter cruise after her junior year of college, as I suspected (and it was the case) that she would be getting married the following year. We had the best time! I would love to do it again!

Glad that you enjoyed the review. Thanks! We have been to the BCH, and Patti and I covered it extensively in our Splendor 6/29/15 review, which is in my signature. The price has increased to $80 per person since then.

Thank you very much! :D

Thanks so much for pointing me to a great review! I'm thinking it would be a good option for them. No transportation required -- easy, peasy. They'll be on the Conquest, with stops in Half Moon Cay and Nassau. Now I am addicted to the idea of reading all of your reviews, though.:o

I have enjoyed your report! Jeff, having cruised so often, have you and your wife visited the British Colonial Hilton? If so, do you have a review of it? I am looking for a beach/resort day option for my daughter and son-in-law who are cruising for the 1st wedding anniversary. Thank you!

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! It sounds like a perfect day -- except for the tiny plane and the turbulence, both of which I must admit give me pause and a wee bit of anxiety. It is still a very strong consideration for us, though, so I really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.

SamFritz, I saw your post last night and prayed for you and your family. I am so very sorry to hear this heartbreaking news. You all will continue to be in prayers during this difficult time.

For only $100 more' date=' Aqua is a strong value. The previously mentioned perks of Blu and the Persian Garden access would tip the balance in favor of Aqua as long as you can keep your booking perks. Let us know what you decide. Either way, you will love the Equinox. Great ship and crew!

I chose to switch to Aqua cabin 1623, and it ended up being the exact same price--to the penny. I didn't make the switch until yesterday. I'm glad I didn't wait any longer. With the new "sale," the price is now higher than it was yesterday.

How much is this excursion? We were going to go by ferry and bus but ended up on a different ship/itinerary.

It is very pricey. More than $400 per person, but we do have some onboard credit.

We didn’t do a tour through Celebrity but though these guys.

Flying is the best way to go! The flight there and back was about 45 minutes. We got to see the site from the air and we got to the site ahead of the crowds. We had a long private tour in an almost empty site and we left soon after the buses started to arrive. The biggest bonus was there was no long bus and ferry ride home, we were back in Cozumel by around 3 pm.
Â
The tour operator chartered the plane through a local airline. The two pilots were very good. We had our own private taxi to from the airport to the site and back arranged by the tour operator.
DO IT! It's worth every penny. :D
Â
I have considered going with another operator, but I am scared of doing a non-Celebrity excursion for a destination this far from the port. I am afraid of something happening and being left behind!:o

I would love to hear about your experience after your return!

I am considering this Celebrity shore excursion as a gift for my husband. Has anyone taken this excursion? Could you provide a quick review? Thank you!

We did the Chichen Itza by Air today. It was a great excursion. It says you can’t use a wheel chair so I left mine on the ship. But after doing this excursion I think my Fold and Go Chair could have done this excursion. It might have needed a little push back up the hill from the cenote. We got back to the ship and did the helipad sailaway but I took video and will have to upload later. Here is tomorrow’s today! Enjoy I am going to bed!

I am considering this excursion as a 50th birthday gift for my husband. I would love to hear more about what the experience was like!

One last question: Would both MDR and Blu be available to me for breakfast options?
-
Cangelmd, I just saw your post as well!
Â
Here is a related question. If your assigned dining room is Blu, can you go to dinner in the MDR for select dining if you prefer the menu there that evening? Or can you order items off the MDR menu at Blu?

We are sailing on the Equinox next year and have cabin 1120 booked. For roughly the same price (about $100 total), we can move to aqua class cabin 1623. Which would you choose and why?
-
Good morning! I have never sailed NCL before, but I am considering a 10-day cruise next December. I could afford either a regular balcony or a mini suite. Here are my options:
Â
Option 1: Cruising out of New Orleans on the Gem:
Day 1: New Orleans
Day 2: At Sea
Day 3: Cozumel
Day 4: Roatan (love Roatan!)
Day 5: Harvest Caye (Meh)
Day 6: Costa Maya (Never been here)
Day 7: George Town
Day 8: Ocho Rios (Never been here)
Day 9: At Sea
Day 10: At Sea
Day 11: New Orleans
Â
Initial thoughts: Love Roatan and would love to go again. Would rather not have all the port days grouped together like this. I think five in a row is a lot! Not as crazy about the Thursday-Sunday itinerary. Two new ports.
Â
Option 2: Cruising out of Orlando on the Epic
Â
Day 1: Orlando
Day 2: Grand Stirrup Cay (Never been here)
Day 3: At Sea
Day 4: Ocho Rios (Never been here)
Day 5: George Town (Love!)
Day 6: At Sea
Day 7: Harvest Caye (Meh)
Day 8: Costa Maya (Never been)
Day 9: Cozumel
Day 10: At Sea
Day 11: Orlando
Â
Initial thoughts: Not crazy about sailing out of Orlando. Large ship. Can't afford the luxury area. Love the way the ports are broken up with sea days. Three new ports. Really like the Wednesday-Saturday itinerary.
Â
So what would you do, and why?
-
I would love opinions on which of the specialty restaurants on Equinox are worth the splurge and missing the main dining room. We will be celebrating our 25th anniversary. Hate to pay extra if the quality and experience are not that far above the already-included main dining room option but will to pay extra if they are!

I had booked a December 2017 cruise under the Go Best promotion (basically got two of the four perks for free). My agent just emailed back and my booking went down by $500 and I kept all my perks. :)

We're on the 5/14 tour! I'm interested to see if there's a projected ship capacity that far out yet.
Â
Also, I know dining reservations were canceled for this cruise. I would like to know how much/how little of a cluster it is to have everyone making replacement reservations once they board. Are those with speciality dining packages (we've booked a 5-night package) given any kind of assurance of being able to book restaurants at times that work for them?
Â
It will make me a bit sad if my reservations are canceled, since I made them at midnight at 120 days out!
