All of Carnival ships have hairdressers in the Spa sections. You will look fabulous!

80 days and counting!

We usually book connecting rooms close to the atrium and we take earplugs. They help A LOT!

Yes, hair dryers are provided. However, they are not very powerful, so you might want to bring your own. Also, if you want to dry your hair in the bathroom, you might want to pack an extension cord. The provided dryers are attached to the vanity/desk, not in the bathroom.

If there is only going to be the two of you, the overhead bunk won't need to be pulled down. You will still be able to sit on the sofa and watch your programs. But, why on earth would you want to be in front of a TV when you will be on a beautiful ship with tons of things to do???

Go to dubbya dubbya dubbya dot cruise lingering dot com and click your way to the Valor. Then click on room number 9270. Your room will be the same as that one, with the sofa and pull down bed. Hope that helps. This post wouldn't let me post a URL.

There are lots of things to keep your 9yo busy aboard ship. Just be as cautious aboard ship as you would in every day life. Remember that ships this size are floating cities. You wouldn't let your child run wild in the streets of a strange city, would you? Just pay attention and have a great time!

Please don't do it. There is nothing worse than forcing your own music preference onto others. I am a music lover, but sailing on a balcony cruise next door to someone who played their music loudly and continuously the whole cruise was enough to make me want to jump ship. Play it in your cabin or in your shower, but please don't play it on your balcony.

Fish and chips....excellent! Deck 10. Yes, to the ice cream machines. Not sure about the burrito bar. I don't remember as there was just too much other food to try. If I remember correctly, the grill is closed in the evenings. But the pizza is open for sure.

We were on the Valor last October and couldn't have been happier. Sure, she's an older ship, but they keep her clean and in good shape. We have another trip scheduled with her in October, and we can't wait to see her again! Go and have yourself a marvelous time!

Go to a site called: dubbya dubbya dubbya dot cruise line rooms dot com and find your way to the Carnival Valor. Click on cabin #6285 and it will show you what the accommodations are for a room for four people. We had rooms 6283 and 6285 that connect for our two families. It was wonderful having the door open between the two. BTW, it wouldn't let me post the site as a URL.

I "forced" my grandsons to go with me to tea time on our cruise last Oct. We are cruising again this Oct and they are so excited that there are two sea days, so we will got two tea times! They had a blast and enjoyed it very much.

May I add too, that you are allowed a case of water per person, so by all means, after you get checked in, leave the ship and go across the street to CVS and pick up some water. I think you are also allowed soft drinks, but since we didn't purchase any, I can't tell you if it it a 6 pack or a 12 pack. We got on the ship, went up to the Lido deck and ate, explored a bit and about 4 or 5 o'clock went to get our water. Have a wonderful cruise!

I looked at the deck map and actually, that should be a sweet place to be. I've been on the Valor, and right above you should be the prop and wardrobe spaces for the Main Lounge. You will have a wonderful time. She's a great ship!

Last year, going out of San Juan, the Muster drill was held inside the dining room at 11:30 at night, right after sailing. It was in English and Spanish, and didn't last very long. At least we were able to sit down.

Each time we're in Nassau, I always buy a shell, or two, or three from a gal in the covered embarkation area. She also makes handmade Christmas ornaments out of shells. She is handicap and she recognizes me each time. That makes it special. I've purchased other shells from different stops as well. Hubby collects ship magnets for the fridge. He writes the date of our cruise and the ports on the back. An excellent and easy way to look it up when needed.
