Just got off Conquest a week ago Saturday.
Safes - Credit Card (I actually used an old visa gift card that had been spent so no big deal if something happened to it)
We had robes in our Balcony cabin
Our mini-fridge was empty when we arrived and we put in the bottled water we pre-purchased for 4 bucks a 12-pack. It took a while but once they got cold they they got plenty cold. Couldn't fit the whole 12-pack in but once it had some cold bottles in there I think it held the temp down better and new bottles got cold faster. Or maybe that was in my head lol. Either way, I had plenty of cold water whenever I wanted. Would have been fine for beer too but I never held a beer long enough to need to put it in the fridge. Thems got drank. ;)
Hi just saw this post and have question;
when you say you purchased a 12pk of water, where did you get it? In the dock area or sell it on the ship? Thanks

Hi LynnAnne
We "met" on the roll call but haven't been on much lately.
We're trying to decide what excursions to do. Grandkids want to swim w/dolphins and I want to snorkel Grand Cayman. Have to get started on this.
Did you get that FTTF pass that people mentioned in other posts? Trying to decide on that too.

Thanks, would appreciate the info. The tendering priority is what I'm looking at.
-
Thanks. Doesn't being a repeat cruiser do the same? It's what I thought.

Will be in Ocho Rios on a cruise next May. Taking 2 oldest GK ( 19 & 17).
Been checking the Dolphin encounter attraction and trying to decide which activity would be best. Want them to interact with them but since we've done this before, we want to just stay on a viewing platform.
Any advice would be very welcome.

Hey lady !
Was checking here for our cruise and surprise ! there you were....
Send me an email telling me how to put our cruise up like you have with yours.
-
Have to admit my lack of knowledge here.
What is a fttf?

Thank you all for the info. Will look at RCCL, its our favorite and have credits to use with them.
-
Thanks, will do. We're partial to RCCL but wasn't sure if suited to young teens.

Taking our 2 oldest grandchildren on 1st cruise. Going to western Caribbean. Looking for cruise ships with many activities on board for teens. Want to make this a very special trip for them.
Am overwhelmed at this point after looking at so many catalogs and cruise line sites.

We have been on 6 Spring break cruises in a row.
Because we have school age kids, it is one of the only times for us to go.
The ship is usually full, but that is ok, it is never a problem.
A lot less crabby people older people....
Someday you will be that "crabby people older people" so be careful what you say.

Can anyone help us and some others on our roll call as to whether RCCL allows soda / water to be bought aboard?
Looking to bring maybe a 12pk of ginger ale and case of water. The beverage pkgs. aren't worth it for us since drink mostly water with can of soda here & there while sitting on balcony.
Thanks

Try flatrateforhire - got great pricing for all our transportation needs and you're the only ones in the car so no stopping for other pass.
The # is 206-242-8800 Their website has been down past week or so.

We are doing Rhapsody in May. I'll follow any post. But if none, I'll try and remember to do a review for you.
Hi what date in May are you going? We're on the ship for the May 30th sailing, it's our 1st trip to Alaska and a dream trip for us.
-
We are going in May. A person on our roll call, suggested renting a car or jeep and do your own tour. Checked it out and went with Alaska Green Jeep rentals, less expensive, get GPS/Maps, cooler with snacks/drinks (can order sandwiches also) stop suggestions etc. This way we can stop at our leisure and go further into the Yukon than train.
Just another way to do this.

Hi Coral,
All are entitled to their opinion. Mine is that Princess is very over-rated, our worst cruise ever has been on Princess. We choose a cruise line by their itinerary not the ship (except like smaller ships better) and that one time it was Princess. We've been on the Big Red Boat, NCL. RCCL, Carnival also. Rccl has never let us down. That's all I can say.
I won't say will "never" sail on them again but they will need to have one amazing itinerary for us to do so.
We are going on our 1st cruise to Alaska & again chose the cruise line due to intinerary. To us that's the key point.

As we have never sailed Alaska before, I am really not sure what is a good price. We are a family of 3 - 2 adults and 1- 11 year old. Have priced out NCL and HAL (both round trip Seattle/Vancouver) - Oceanview Cabin - 7 nights. Prices are between $3100-$3300. Is that good? With airfare from Toronto, this would make the cruise and air well over $5000!
We're booked on RCCL for D1 balconey for 1742.00 pp R/T from Seattle. BUT we did this over a year ago and last I looked, same trip is now @ $2100pp. So prices you're seeing are about right. Like other poster said, shop around websites and see what's out there.

Regarding your issue with people not forming a line in the Oceanview Cafe...
You are NOT supposed to line up at the various Islands and stations. you go around the islands and pick whatever you need. no lines. the whole concept is to eliminate lines. some people do still form lines, like sheep, however, but that is totally counterproductive of the concept.
In America, we stand in line or say excuse me when trying to get to whatever it is we want. On the whole we don't push our way in front of others to get "Whatever we need" or we ask to be able to step in. It's called common courtesy. I for one, when doing this, don't feel like "sheep" but a well-mannered, considerate person.

they want the picture back.
so good ! Lol....

We saw Bert Stratton on the Caribbean Princess 3 years ago. Fantasic one-man show. Always standing room only when he performed. I can still recall his Sweet Caroline. Da. Da. Da. Da. Anyone seen him lately?
Just saw him on the Caribbean Princess last month and still packing them in !!! He was the best show on the ship.. They had him in a little open lounge area all week, so people were standing/blocking the walkways to listen to him, then the last night, he was in a big lounge. and it was SRO and more that night. Have pics of him, he really enjoys what he does.

Dolphin discovery/Chakanaab direct booking question

We booked online/chat few mos. ago and we got a 2 for 1 deal. Had no problems and got a confirmation right away. When re-checked confirmation, realized wouldn't be able to make the morning session, called the rep. right away and she change to early afternoon immediately. I spoke with Blanca Gonzales ext 109.
We plan on getting there soon as we get off ship and grab a taxi, spend the time wandering/swimming/snorkeling then the GKs swim w/Dolphins. We've done it before.
Hope this helps.
