are there any of the following in the Seaside?
1) cooking class/demo
2) special dining experience like Carnival’s chef table?
3) behind scenes tour?

Any adults making use of the new wristbands on Seaside? Cost? Convenience?

Hello! We were upgraded to an Aurea Suite, but we have a Bella Experience, so our only benefit is the room. Is it possible to upgrade to an Aurea Experience?

Curious - how does one check the availability of cabins?

We were just on the Oosterdam and did the Sel de Mer in the Pinnacle. It was fabulous!

Looks great - thank you!

Just off the Oosterdam, Pinnacle Grill and also offered Chef Rubi's one night and the Canneleto. Did Pinnacle Grill one night, had ressies for the other two also, but decided to save our money and eat in the dining room (we did eat breakfast each morning in the Pinnacle Grill). It was fine.
Very helpful. Thank you!

It differs by ship and itinerary.
We have done many Chef Rudi's dinners on various ships -- limited on most ships to 18 people.
Go to the Pinnacle Grill once you have boarded the ship and ask if there are going to be any special dinners.
Thank you so much!

Hey guys - we have only cruised in the spring/summer before, so I am needing a little guidance on what to expect on sea days temperature-wise. Assuming dress in light layers? Is the pool even something to consider (assuming it's somewhat chilly)?
Thanks in advance!

Here is a link to my collection of the current HAL Specialty Restaurant menus:
This is wonderful!! Thank you so much.

1) Favorite excursions
I second Las Caletas in Puerto Vallarta. It does take the entire port time, we got off the westerdam, walked to the excursion boat and spent the entire day there, returning with just enough time to get back on the ship for departure. We loved the day though. Worth the cost.
2) Specialty dining -
doesn't count as specialty, but I liked the dive in fries and cheese sauce by the pool!
3) Favorite onboard activities-
our dec 2016 sailing had a lot of Mexican dancers and singers out on deck by the lido pool a few evenings as the sun was setting. Very talented and set the mood nicely. I also loved attending the Test Kitchen cooking demos!
4) Things that you wish you had known before getting on this boat...
Wasn't on this one, sorry.
The test kitchen has me very excited - love to cook! Was it hard to get into a demo? Would love to hear more if you are open to sharing.

We sailed on the Oosterdam to Alaska 8/6/17... Pinnacle Grill was very nice.
Mexican Riviera... We cruised there Nov 2016 on the Westerdam, a sister ship to the Oosterdam. One shore excursion I would highly recommend would be Las Caletas. Its a boat trip to a private beach area with snorkeling, zip line, paddle boarding, food, parrots flying around ect... On the way back the crew on the boat put on a great show! This is in Puerto Vallarta
That sounds like a lot of fun! Appreciate the feedback.

There is tons of info around this board about several of these items. By the way, it is a ship.
There are many threads about the specialty restaurants. Pinnacle is a great restaurant in the steakhouse vein. Canaletto is Italian restaurant. Dive In is a burger joint.
You should go on the excursions that most interest you.
Thank you for your help!

My "best thing" is that there are just the right amount of sea days for a 7 night trip.
David
Thank you!

Would love to hear from you if you have sailed on the Mexican Riviera (Oosterdam)! We are not new to cruising but we are new to the Holland Line.
Appreciate any feedback on:
1) Favorite excursions
2) Specialty dining
3) Favorite onboard activities
4) Things that you wish you had known before getting on this boat...
Many thanks!

Hello - does the Oosterdam offer a chefs table type of dining experience? (Akin to Carnival?)
Many thanks!

Hello! Can anyone provide the dailies and menus for the Mexican Riviera cruise? Many thanks!:)
-
I do! But we have lost both our mothers and survived cancer this year so to me it was worth asking!
-
We will be on the cruise for my wife's 50th birthday - we are hoping to get chef's table to celebrate. Will the ship do anything special for her if we say something to someone about making her day special?
Appreciate your help!

Hi! My husband and I just stumbled upon a Carnival Cruise offer that looks to be a great deal but have a few questions:
1) Welcome aboard cocktail party - what do most people wear? When is this held? Our ship leaves dock at 10pm.
2) They offer a commemorative CARNIVAL PLAYERS CLUB® GIFT - what is this?
3) What are some of the other perks and surprises that they refer to?
4) Anything to be wary about?
Thanks in advance for your help!
