Okay so I booked this and was SUPER excited about it. This was my first cruise mind you. This is my story: we got off the boat and head for the taxi's. Taxi driver speaks maybe 3 words of English which was very hard and Google Translate was not helping. I tell her where I wanted to go, she was googling the place because she had never heard of it before and used Google Maps to find it.

After driving through what looked like the ghetto... as in piles of garbage everywhere, saw someone smoking crack on a few corners, homeless all over, everyone has bars on everything... we arrive at the end of a street with this little white building that looked more like a house than a resort. There was a little sign on it that said Pamela's (the restaurant it seems) and the taxi driver looked surprised and went in to confirm this was the place. It was.

She came back and I looked at my daughter and she was terrified. I had a VERY BAD feeling about it. And after much google translation, made her take me back to the ship.

They can keep the money. I don't even care. I am a single mom travelling alone with my 13 year old daughter. In a country where we do not speak the language and to be dropped off in an area like that? Absolutely not. Next time I will go through the cruise ship for excursions until I am more comfortable on my own.

I just got back from the Splendor (I think the above poster was on my cruise with me, I was the crazy one with a long island iced tea in her hand with the crazy latina friend lol) - I was on Deck 1 in the very very back and I could always connect beautifully.

This is my first time doing it. I was told by the representative on the phone that the tickets would be waiting for me in my cabin. There is also no limit on how many tickets you use in a day (asked people in a post a few days ago).

You have to call to order it. I got some cases of water at the same time. There are three levels of the package which you can look at online. Basically the quality of wine.

Leaving on my first cruise in 15 days (yay). Am taking my DD13. I expect as soon as she meets up with some other teens that I will find myself very solo on the trip. I may be single but I agree that meeting others on the ship is not about dating or "hooking up" but it would be fun to have people to chat with, grab a drink or three and explore the ship. Have met quite a few nice people who are also going through a fb page for this cruise... they are all married though and that can get awkward lol

I found one called Bed Time Fan, free from the play store (I have an Android). Works without access to wi-fi which was important. Three settings.

I was going to pack a small fan but after a lot of back and forth removed it from the suitcase and downloaded a fan noise app on my phone. I am so close to a weight limit issue on my suitcases that I just couldn't do it :(

I just wanted it paid for and out of the way before I ever got on the ship! Well and since it is me and DD13 I can only bring on one bottle of wine... one bottle of wine can't last 7 nights lol

Thank you. That is the exact scenario I was picturing or if I was hanging out with friends and wanted to use my vouchers so we could have some wine.

So I ordered the 5 bottle wine package (7 night cruise). My question is, can I only have one bottle a day or could I, hypothetically of course because it would kill me in reality, have all 5 in one day? Do they limit when/where/how you redeem your wine vouchers?

Actually I just learned about that and have replaced the power strip with one of those splitters instead. Don't want them to throw it out or for it to cause a problem.

I don't think you sounded jerky at all. Everyone is a pleasure but it can be fun to be around people in your age bracket, common interests and what have you.

I'm really not sure but if you gals don't mind another central Ohio cruise tagging along, I'd happy to go in their place. The baby mama said I can go!

I leave in 18 days. Most of that is already in the suitcases and my DD13 keep yelling at me to stop packing things we will use before we leave lol
