  1. With most passengers refusing to get dressed appropriately for dining, things have become more and more casual.  So The America’s table was started on Carnival.  Menu is different,,and I like it.  Yes it saves money to not have a table cloth every night,  but then it gives everyone a more formal feel on elegant nights.  Table clothes and a different menu for elegant evenings is a nice touch.

  2. Same here...we have given away almost every Platinum gift and never eat the chocolate platter. Have only used the drink coupons once. We use the laundry a couple of times each trip.

We like the Platinum boarding but the last few cruises the Captain's Lounge has been so crammed it is crazy.

My husband and I are Diamond..what a bunch of whiners....one drink, and at breakfast..we never used our coupon, we also are shareholders, they know, how many coupons were given and how many were used. Most people did not use them...for,whatever reason. I love the benefits for being Diamomd. Agree we get enough to,eat..forget the chocolates.

The price is the best benefit for Carnival cruisers...I am glad they are keeping the price lower than other lines.

  3. Ayers rock is about as close to the middle of know where that u can find!! i live in Darwin and work for a rental car company and often get asked can we get down to Ayers rock for the weekend! its roughly about 2000 kilometers from Darwin and where in the same state!

Its about a 4 and a bit hour drive from Alice springs (the closest town) so flying there is going to be ur best option, there are only a handful of planes that arrive there each day. also depending on the time of the year some of the roads can flood, even thou its the dessert they get roads cut from flooding at different times of the year, a few where flooded last week.

and as others hav mentioned it is VERY HOT at that time of the year! the temps will be in the 40's most days

Read in your comment you live in Darwin. My husband would like to go to the Sky City Casino..we arrive on a Thursday afternoon and need to know how to get to the Casino. Is it very far from the cruise terminal? How expensive are cabs? is there a shuttle? Arrive November 2014

Saw your post on tours...did you tour to the Komodo Island? We are on a cruise ship and I'd love to take a DIY tour instead of a ships tour. do you recommend a tour?
