  1. We are just off our first Celebrity sailing and found Luminae an important reason why we booked another cruise on the Reflection. simply put, the Celebrity Reflection Luminae Team kicked it up a couple of notches. Great team work. It was wonderful to watch. If the Bridge works that well, safe sailing.

Fyi..you are free to order off the MDR menu w/no fuss. Awesome experience.

  2. As a Survivor, it is never out of my mind. However, what we all have in common is we become warriors----so, Live Your Life (Tecumseh Poem made popular again in 2012).

If the Dr. gives you the green light: Take it and enjoy the sunrises and sunsets. Your only worry should be deciding whatyou want to do after each sunrise.

    Enjoy your journey...

  3. This board is great...NCL and Princess are great for Alaska. When you speak w/a Travel Consultant, find out what they can do for you, especially perks. Shop around and go for what fits your needs. For Alaska, you must do a balcony----you will not regret the experience. Happy shopping.

  4. You are wise to become educate; however, with that said---I'm packing spray/lotion for when I am in the Cozumel area for diving. Also, having a few beers so I can be in the swatting zone though relaxation.

As noted, since there is no pregnancy, our level of concern is a little lower----but we are taking pragmatic and reasonable precautions.

    Swat wisely....

  5. Your well-balanced replies have been most helpful. Looking forward to our 7-night experience beginning in 22-days. I will post our thoughts after our return.

My wife has already hinted that she would like to take a cruise on the Celebrity Expedition in the near future----I can work with that. :)

Thank you again for taking time to answer my question.

  6. All: Thank you very much for your detailed and extremely helpful suggestions. My initial thoughts follows everyone's advice and I plan to enjoy the experience aboard the Reflection.

As a smart man, I will ultimately defer to my wife----and enjoy it.

Again, thank you. Each of your points really helps.

  7. I am very new to the Celebrity experience. I documented my issues regarding a pricing upsell and emailed Concerns@Celebrity.com. I may be off a little, but I received 2 phone calls and an email follow-up taking care of the issue.

Overall, I was very satisfied with the responsiveness. I was surprised that the issue was resolved the way I wished----I honestly thought there was going to be a compromise.

    Hope this helps.

  8. All: First time Celebrity cruiser on the 2/27 voyage. First suite experience (Sky). We have pre-booked one evening at the Tuscan and have read the various threads to pre-booking the 4 or 5 night specialty packages; Luminae is wonderful enough; and, there are deals to be made as you board the ship.

I've been on 9 other cruises, various lines---and have always been satisfied with the food and service in the MDRs, I suspect Luminae will also be a good experience. This will be wife's second cruise and I want her to to have a great experience (I want her to cruise more).

We enjoy great food experiences like everyone else. Is there a MUST DO with respect to specialty dining? My thought is to explore a 3 or 4 night specialty package and hit Luminae on the remaining nights.

Hence, pre-book or wait to cut a deal once onboard?

    Many thanks in advance.

  9. Matt: I have booked with NCL, Princess, Carnival, RCCL, and now Celebrity.

I cruised Carnival in 2007, 2008, and 2009. Two 4-Day cruises and a 7-Day cruise. I enjoyed everyone of them. I chose Carnival for these trips as I traveled stag----and they had a reputation for matching demographics----and they did a great job. The other reason was the port schedule for diving. It just worked out. One thing I did avoid: Spring Breaks. Hence, the passengers were a wild range: if you wanted to act crazy (within reason) or stay to yourself...I had a great time.

I've enjoyed every ship I've been on. Doing my first "suite" cruise on Celebrity soon. However, with that said, I don't intend to be in the room that much.

You will have your own good time on Carnival.

    Bon voyage....J
