Booked on our first cruise on Thomson Discovery which is currently Splendour of the Seas.

Can anyone recommend a well priced insurance policy for someone that has type 1 diabetes and recently been hospitalised for suspected diverticulitis, diagnosis pending.

Cover is for Caribbean and 16 days.

If so what was you general overall impression and value for money. Were the staff ok with less physically able people? I have done open water diving before on holiday but this was back in 2007.

Thank you for your reply, and I am glad to hear that the tour lives up to what is advertised!

I have contacted Trikes Aruba and they could not have been more helpful. They are willing to put the wheelchairs in their tour guides vehicle meaning my brother and partner can partake in the majority of the sightseeing on the tour!

We are booked in now and cannot wait, just a small matter of 340+ days to go!!!

Have any wheelchair users done the trike tours before please?

Also any advice on if they would be suitable for a bigger person?

If you mean the laundry service where the cabin steward takes it away and brings it all back washed and pressed its really reasonable most things washed and ironed for just over a pound and an excellent service. Think there's a DIY laundry as well but not sure as never used it.

Is that £1 per item or per "load"?

I would also be interested to know laundry prices. First time cruise on Discovery in Jan 17 but I assume laundry prices will be the same across the fleet??

We have just booked onto discovery from 1 Jan 17 to 16 Jan 17. There are 4 of us, 2 of which are wheelchair users(young), all first time cruisers!

Cannot wait, but still unsure exactly what to expect.

Anyone with any tips or in particular about suitability of port stops for wheelchair users (areas to avoids etc) would be appreciated.
