I haven't heard anything on the ship. One of the head waiters mentioned tonight that some crew just joined the ship and were quarantined but that seems like standard procedure now.
On the CDC website it has Navigator on Yellow status which means it's under investigation.
https://www.cdc.gov/quarantine/cruise/cruise-ship-color-status.html
The site says definition of yellow status could mean that as little as 1 crew member tested positive, or they didn't submit their daily forms in time.
Yellow Ship Criteria
Ship is at or above CDC’s investigation threshold:
Restricted Voyages:
Cases reported in 0.10% or more of passengers (e.g., if 6500* passengers on board, CDC’s investigation threshold is met if there are 7 or more cases among passengers occurring during the previous 7 days), or
This percentage includes passenger cases occurring within 5 days of disembarkation that CDC was notified of by state or local health departments.
One or more cases reported in crew.
OR
During the past 7 days, the ship failed to submit one or more daily EDC submissions on time (by 1200 ET). On a weekly basis, CDC emails all ships a reminder to submit the EDC form. In addition, CDC sends a reminder email if a ship does not submit their EDC form.

A question, AJ have you found you really do need to make reservations before going into the Windjammer for breakfast or lunch and if so, did it seem to require a lot of lead time? We used to be able to just go walk in when we felt like it, so this new requirement of reservations will take some getting used to!

AJ see you tomorrow! Happy Birthday to your mom!
We are currently onboard the Navigator.
Last week, 1875 passengers, 471 children.
This week, 2533 passengers, 379 children.
Anticipated for tomorrow, 1575, 133 children.
There are 11 accessible cabins but guest services cannot/unable to tell how many will be vacant tomorrow. Guest services said to check with them when you board. Happy Sailing!
AJ, thanks so much for posting the live thread and the Cruise Compass daily sheets! Much appreciated! I hope you and your mom are having a blast! We will be on board Navigator for this same itinerary Dec. 16. Bonsai3s, can you let us know how many passengers are anticipated or booked for the December 16 sailing?

Great info! Thank you!
Did you have good experience with him Capt. Martinsen on an RCI ship? I'll be on a Freedom of the Seas cruise to So. Carib. while he's captain.
I was on a Celebrity cruise to Alaska last year with Captain Tasos and we all loved him...he made the cruise even that much better, with his wit and interaction with the guests. Hoping for a similar experience on the Freedom.

Does anyone know if Captain Frank Martinsen is still a Captain on a Royal ship? I don't see his name listed or mentioned anywhere.
I know I'm responding pretty late, but I was just checking on Captains's rotation and saw posting that Capt. Frank Martinsen is on/off (10 week rotations?) the Freedom of the Seas. His rotation started 8-18-18.

That’s really awesome. I would think nothing of spending three hours a day on the penny slots and never walked away with more than $250. However, since the casinos have become smoking dens I no longer go near them. Confine my play to local smoke free casinos.
I read somewhere on the RCL forum that the RCL casinos will all be smoke-free starting some point in 2019.

You are do realize no matter how many times you advise the crew wants cash an not trinkets and trash, it will be ignored. That stuff gets thrown away....right after the crew members smiles and profusely thanks the passenger. We will keep advising cash, they will keep bringing things the crew does not want or need.
I agree. Although I might consider wrapping the cash around a chocolate bar as a sweet treat for my cabin steward. :):-)

Has anyone just decorated there door with different things [magnetic]
A cute magnet I put on our cabin door "disappeared" on day 2 or day 3 of our cruise last year. Very disappointing! From now on if I put something on the cabin door it will be copies of cute or funny photos or jokes held on with cut-up pieces of free advertising magnets, so no big deal if they are stolen during the cruise.

For those of you who have tried El Loco Fresh on board, did you like it and if so, which items were good? Also, anyone know if the Escape Room closed? I don't see it mentioned on the cruise compasses AJ has posted.
