  1. Sooo . . . I check this morning and they are available on Verizon Rewards and AARP.

Quickly toss five $100 gift cards into each cart and proceed to check out, which ever site moves quicker. Verizon was faster BUT I select my shipping address and then, NOTHING!

Site won't let me check out. I tried everything but I can't proceed to payment info. Called customer service, they have me enter a new delivery address, nothing works. While I'm on hold with them a new message pops up in my cart, SOLD OUT!

I had emptied my AARP cart and closed that window thinking that could have been a problem. When I went back, they are sold out also. The systems are nearly identical, I'm guessing it doesn't matter which I use?

    Damn!

2 weeks to my cruise, I know they usually ship quickly but I'm running out of time. I had some paid off the cruise a while back and used my last to book an excursion. Oh, well?

  2. Just called my TA to add some OBC with my gift cards as of 2017, if you are going to use the gift cards as OBC you have to show it as you check in.

That's how it was last January on the Liberty, right after settling in we went to the desk and applied a $500 gift card to our S&S account. On the last night I stopped back down and collected a little over $100 cash back.

  3. This is so sad. I'm probably one of the few who prefer Freeport to Nassau. Last time we were in Nassau we stayed on the ship. As for Freeport, we've gone out to Paradise Cove/Deadman's Reef to snorkel and it's really good snorkeling. Hope they recover soon.

Same here, much prefer Freeport. Had a great time at Deadman's Reef snorkeling.

I admit I'm not a seasoned traveler (one Carnival Cruise last July and the 3-day to Freeport on Bahama Celebration several years ago that got us excited about cruising in the first place) but we had a blast in Freeport. Or, rather, wherever the bus took us to from the port. Little marina village with shopping and restaurants and we went on a glass-bottom boat tour that was tons of fun.

it was very exciting for us on our first cruise. Yeah, Freeport may not have all the stuff the other big ports do but I'm not willing to write it off as a dud. Freeport will always have a place in my heart for being the place that made me realize I love cruising.

  4. I have never seen someone suggest this option. I was just putting $500 aside for my January cruise.....now I have that $500 saved and it only cost me $450 thru AARP.....Big Score!!! Thanks for the suggestion!!

Paid for our entire cruise this way, saved 10%. Started last cruise S&S account with a $500 gift card and got cash back at the end. Win, win, win!

  5. The question I have though is how is a TSA agent or port agent going to know if a user has a Note7 versus a Galaxy S7 or S6 or any other device? I know people should get rid of their Note7, but my S6 looks a lot like a note 7 and no one better tell me to turn it off or put it away as there are no issues with my 2 yr old phone... Except maybe my crappy battery life...

Exactly why I bought another S5 when mine got tired, love the ability to buy extra batteries and a wall charger for them. Takes seconds to swap to a fully charged battery.

    Good news.

It was you who posted the link which was meant to be proof there is a problem with the S7

'Maybe this response might have been a better reply instead of trying to back up a false claim.

  6. Thanks for your responses. Are these rooms configured differently at all from a regular inside room?

We had one on the Liberty last January. The easiest way I can explain it is that it's "sideways", you enter the room between the foot of the bed and the closet. The bathroom is across from the foot of the bed behind the closet. Bathroom is larger, rest of room smaller. Doors are larger and can be opened automatically with push button. You can not deadbolt lock the cabin door. We liked the location, close to the pool, but did not like the layout.

  7. Agree! I have been shocked that they have been available every time I look. It's nice because I can grab a $100 one here and there when I have the extra money and not just hope I have money available when they happen to be there. It was stressful (first world problems) haha. I not only got my whole cruise at 10% off, I got my excursions and onboard purchases at 10% off since I'm building my onboard credit now. Can't beat that!! If I gamble it's even 10% off :D.

I bought one $500 card a while ago and booked my cruise with it. I kept looking and couldn't get any more for about a month, then they popped back up, I bought 2 more and put them away. A week or so ago, Carnival ran a special, pay in full ahead of time and get a $200 OBC. Turns out it cost me $10 each because the fare went up and I lost the $50 OBC I had BUT it was a net gain of $130 and I got my whole cruise at 10% off! Just bought a few $100 gift cards to put on my sign &sail account when we get onboard.

  8. We were on the Conquest and had FTTF and found it useless. It did not get us to the front of the line. So having an excursion would insure you off the ship promptly as that is controlled.

We've only had FTTF once before but I liked it. When we were boarding in San Juan my wife took a little walk and was nowhere to be found when they called FTTF boarding . . . I was not a happy camper. Once we reconnected and headed to the boarding line someone from Carnival spied our FTTF and moved us to the front of the line, sweet!

Our room was ready when we got there, luggage came a while later with no issues.

I did have to go to the desk once and actually forgot that I could have used a priority line.

Getting off after the cruise we had our luggage taken the night before but we didn't leave the ship as soon as we could. It was a bit of a nightmare getting to the front of the crowd where our luggage was but once we got it wrong were able to get right out of the terminal.

I liked FTTF, we'll worth the few dollars in my opinion, I just haven't visited a tendered port yet and am trying to figure it all out. The last think I want to do is to get off the ship early and sit around waiting for excursion transportation because of slow tendering.

  9. Most likely people on your excursion will not have FTTF so your excursion wont start for some time after you get to the port.

That makes sense if FTTF gets us off early. I'm going to try and make plans just for us instead of joining an excursion where we have to wait for the slowest person.

  10. Booked on the Carnival Glory and have a question about tendered ports in general a Belize in particular.

I've seen recommendations that you book excursions through Carnival to get tender priority but I've already paid for FTTF. Is Carnival going to put their excursion groups in front of me or will my FTTF status get me off the ship quickly so I can make my own plans? Then, if we do get off the ship quickly will we be stuck waiting for those without FTTF before an excursion transportation leaves?

I'm just beginning to research this, ideally I'll find a beach good for snorkeling and be able to grab a taxi and get there early!

  11. We'll be in Cozumel in Feb. 2017 and Mr. Sanchos seems to be the place to go?? Seriously considering the Romantic Package since it's just the 2 of us. The massage sounds nice and I'm more shade and she's more sun so the cabana looks tempting. What's the best transportation and how hard is it to change dates if our itinerary changes (since Sanchos is not available through Carnival)? Thanks!

  12. I don't understand the "gift card" frenzy....if you can buy a card cheaper than it's value...that's great...but if you buy more than you need....not a great idea! Cash is king...buy what you need, but no more than that. Use cash for the rest, if you can't handle a credit card!

Paid $450 for a $500 gift card, applied it to S&S card on ship, used what I wanted onboard and got over $100 cash back when the cruise ended . . . that cash was king!

  13. We ended up in a handicap room on our last cruise on the Liberty even though we didn't need it. The location was great, on the Lido deck near the pool BUT I didn't care for the layout at all. The room was "sideways" with the door between the bed and the bathroom, the bathroom was larger and the rest of the room smaller. The door opened automatically BUT there was no deadbolt!
  14. Booked for Carnival Glory at the end of January 2017. I keep checking every few days but still no excursions available. I called Carnival and was told that they don't have any excursions set up for 2017 yet. Anyone have an idea when that might be happening? The only thing I'm in a rush to book is FTTF, I'd be happy if they'd at least put that one out.

  15. YAY !! :) :) :)

I think if it's $500 or more you have to sign for it. If you sign up for My UPS (or whatever it's called : ) you can have them change the delivery address or you can have them held at the UPS location of your choice for you to come pick them up. You will have to have an ID with you when go get them.

    .

I had mine sent to a local UPS store, My UPS wanted me to pay $5 to change the delivery address to my work.
