  1. I was sailed on Queen Elizabeth from Vancouver to Fort Lauderdale, Aug 17 - Sep 5. When removing my items from the safe the evening before disembarkation I found a watch under the lining of the safe.  I handed it to our room steward who said he would pass it to the Pursers Office. My cabin was on Deck 9 starboard-side. Hopefully the watch has been reunited with its owner.

  2. Sailed 35 days on QM 2 in the Caribbean earlier this year and used the standard internet service.  Performance (speed and reliability) was dreadful. Sailed 20 days on Queen Elizabeth from Fort Lauderdale to Mediterranean recently and opted for the Premium internet package. It was well worth the extra cost to have perfectly usable internet performance.  We do not stream anything, just check email and stay in touch with news etc.

  3. Having sailed and remained Covid-free on QM2  twice recently, from New York to Caribbean to New York (Feb 22 - Mar 08) then again on a similar route (Mar 26 - Apr 17)  I can offer some insight. In 36 days onboard we observed, as others have said, a lot of Covid-related activity. Understandably, it is impossible to obtain any detailed numbers of the positive case rate, however, it seems to have increased during the most recent cruise. Absent any communication other than the reinforcement of messaging to wear masks and observe social distancing, there is a lot of speculation regarding the transmission rate on board. In Barbados and Fort Lauderdale a number of passengers were either  voluntarily or required to disembark due to Covid. That said, at no time did we feel any undue risk, however, we were extremely vigilant and complied with all the rules and guidance, as did the vast majority of guests. The onboard testing facility is excellent and Cunard is making every effort to maintain passenger safety.  We even had a call from a nurse several hours after I bought some herbal cough medicine from the store for a bronchial issue entirely unrelated to Covid. We also heard that an individual who purchased Strepsils was contacted and required to be tested for Covid.
Notwithstanding all the proactive Covid mitigation measures my view is If you are Immunocompromised then it would be prudent to consider very carefully travelling on any cruise ship at the moment. Be guided by your own risk-tolerance level. Cunard is undoubtedly making every effort to protect guests and provide a safe and enjoyable  experience but the risk of Covid transmission remains. On a TA there is potentially less opportunity to spend days outside on deck  as many on the Caribbean trips did, hence more people mingling indoors. Be well and hope this helps.

  4. Bluemarble - thank you. It is very helpful to have the updated list. I think the photo I submitted of Mormugao should allow Goa to be removed however. According to the Cunard itinerary for my 2019 voyage, Mormugao is the listed port for Goa. I have one more "unseen port" in my  photo archives which I will submit later today. We will then be down to just one short of 500. Thank you again.

  5. No prizes for guessing the location of this photo but the conversation regarding Bayonne and Manhattan cruise terminals prompted me to look up one of my favorite photos, which I took from Weehawken, New Jersey. The date was April 25, 2004 and QM2 and QE2 were berthed together in New York. They were an impressive sight. I think this was the first and last time they were alongside each other in New York.

  6. Palmeat - I do believe your two images are of UK ports. The first is Workington in Cumbria. The attractive area it provides a gateway to is the Lake District. The second is Holyhead in Wales, gateway to Snowdonia (now officially known by its Welsh name Yr Wyddfa)

  7. Rarotonga -  does not have an island in its name

Rarotonga - is part of a nation of islands (Cook Islands)

Rarotonga -  you can see the Southern Cross (in the night sky)

Therefore my guess for today is.........  Port Moresby, Papua, New Guinea!

It does not have an island in its name

It is part of a nation of islands

You can see the Southern Cross in its flag
