The last RCI ship I sailed on, only one adult had to buy the drink package. Do all RCI ships require all adults to buy the drink package now? My wife doesn’t drink, are there any exceptions?

I’m looking to book the Bliss with an outside TA website and deck 8 shows The Grand Tea Room where the District is. Can anyone please confirm this is not true?

I️ guess I should ask in a month or so when she moves over to Venice. A Little Sumptin Sumptin would be nice. Hopefully they bring some to Italy.

Anyone have beer list for the Star sailing out of Venice? Hoping the have more than the normal mainstream brands. I️ doubt they will have any IPAs, but maybe some European beers. Just something different, please.

Try one of the Oasis class ships from Royal Caribbean. They offer a MDR program (MyTime Dining) that is the same as freestyle dining. Like the -away class ships on NCL, you need to book shows and specialty dining.
If you want a peek at a RCL oasis ship, check out our cruise last week https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2613542
To me the Oasis class is the least crowded of any ship I have sailed on, just because of the great layout. Breakaway Plus class is probably the most crowded, just because of the not so great layout. However, I love them both.

So, you buy a ticket to a Broadway Show... or a Vegas show...Let's hear what you did before you actually purchased that ticket.
Not even close to being the same. When you buy a ticket for a show you are just going to the show. When you buy a ticket for a cruise there is much more than the shows you are paying for.

They all offer my time dining. If you like NCL’s new mega ships, you will love RCI’s mega ships. They really blow everything else away as far as the ship itself. If you plan on getting a drink package on another line, you will definitely pay a premium.

Perfomance etiquette...not everyone has it...
Etiquette? It’s a flipping cruise ship, not Broadway. You didn’t specifically pay for the shows, which can be very poor at best sometimes.

If you don’t like a show, just leave. Sorry.
Could not agree more. Some people don’t do any research because they want to be completely surprised. If the show sucks, why should you waste your time when there is plenty more to do. I️t is not rude at all, but a prerogative.

Do all the people that are worried about pre paying or not realize this increase only equates to $3.50 a person for a week long cruise? Unless you’re in the Haven and you can afford whatever increase they decide on.

I probably would have been tricked as well thinking that the float would be charged to my room if I didn't return it and that is why they needed the cabin number.
Not return it? Where are you going to go with it? Roll it up and stick it in your beach bag and sneak it back on the ship?

You will have no problem getting your underaged kid drinks on any NCL ship. Just buy it and hand it to them. You will never be questioned.

Yes. From $13.99 to $14:50 for my September cruise on the Star. I️f I️ prepay before March 31 I️ can keep the old rate. Problem is, then I can’t use my OBC from my TA. Big deal, it’s only $7 total for two of us.

You shouldn’t have to change your browser or clear your cache. No other cruise lines have these issues. Why do people get so defensive about this when I️t is clearly an ongoing issue?

Hopefully they are ripping out those useless slides and making more deck space.

This is easy. Rent a car though Alamo at the airport. Print your booking confirmation prior and you can take the free shuttle to the airport on the big blue Alamo Enterprise bus, but you need to show your confirmation. Can’t miss the bus, it’s right out front. Depending on the size of the car, you can get something for about $30. Throw your luggage in the trunk and go wherever you want them turn the car in and take the shuttle to the terminal. Done this a few times. Helps burn some time and pretty inexpensive.

I️ personally like NCL better than RCI and I never thought I️ would say that. Wife and I️ are 50 and have sailed mostly with our kids until recently. We have sailed about 20 times between Carnival, RCI and NCL with one Princess which we hated. Our last cruise, a month ago was on the Sky which I️ was very skeptical about, but loved I️t. Before that we were on The Freedom of the Seas out of Barcelona last September and thought I️t was the worst service and lamest entertainment we have ever had. Yes, the ports were incredible, but the ship itself seemed like they were severely understaffed. I️ personally feel that RCI has lost its edge and is no where near as good as I️t was just a few years ago. We noticed this on our RCI cruise last year as well before the Freedom. Food is always subjective, so I️ won’t even go there. We usually don’t book by cruise line, but more for itinerary and price. However, if there are similar options, we will go with NCL. We are on the Star out of Venice this September.

Sure, you might make I️t and chances are you PROBABLY will. However, why would anyone spend thousands of dollars on a cruise and be too cheap to spend as little as $100 for a hotel to insure they will make I️t on time. I️ understand sometimes the are circumstances that don’t let you go a day earlier, but this doesn’t sound like that is the case. $100 is worth I️t just not to worry. This is an ongoing debate.

Not a chance. Don’t do it. Take full advantage of the open bar. Freeport is by far the biggest dump out there.

Can’t get any more pompous than gloating about spending $17,000 on a cruise.

Does anyone know if Vacations to Go is opted out. TA says no, but is she saying that just to keep me?

It was all new ships. The Harmony of the Seas was also on it. All the article was saying is new ships are boxy so they can fit all the whistles and bells on them.

Drink package at dinner.
in MSC Cruises
Posted
I read that everyone at the same dinner table has to have the same drink package. Is this true? Has anyone experienced this first hand? Our friends do not have the same package as us. Will they actually not let them eat with us? This seems absolutely ridiculous and almost impossible to monitor. I️ hope someone can confirm or deny this.
