  1. how did that work with you bringing your own photographer?

Did they play music in the ceremony space while your guests waited for the ceremony to begin?

It actually worked out very well. We were asked if he was a professional and we said no that he does take photos for money however we were not paying him due to the fact the we knew him and that our photos were a gift. We did know him through someone and we tipped him for his time. I will say that because we had our photographer and carnival had one we spent a lot of time taking pictures. More than I would have liked to. You can ask carnival to not provide one if you wish. Our guests didn't have to go to the ceremony space until 20 minutes before it started, but they did not play music within that time frame while they were waiting.

  2. Congratulations!!

We're getting married on the Conquest in a couple weeks!

I have a ton of questions but I'll start with just a couple...

Any advice or anything you can think of that we should prepare for or make sure we do?

What time did you check in at the terminal?

From what I have read on the boards the Conquest is always getting a late start. We were told to check-in at 10 am should we rush to get there?

Also did you see your husband prior to the wedding or were you able to be separated from him until the start of it?

Congrats to you as well!! We checked in at the terminal around 930ish, only due to the fact that the only shuttle available for us to take from our hotel was at 9. I drove in a vehicle and got there just before the shuttle for the reason that my husband and I did want to stay separated. I got there first, went through the lines first for check in first etc. He stayed at the back of our group the whole time and all our guests helped to keep us separated. The waiting area is difficult to achieve this in however he stayed just around a wall corner from me and stayed near the elevators the whole time. We were told that we would be boarding around 11-1115. This did not happen. we didn't board until close to 1230. Luckily for us we were the last wedding of the day, however the first wedding had very little time to get ready and prepare. They ended up starting a little late which ended up making my ceremony start late and cut our reception a little short. Wasn't thrilled about that. Also when our cruise was over our ship was very late with disembarkation so the next group of wedding didn't get on right away either. I hope all this helps. Let me know if you have any more questions or would like to see any photos!!

  3. I have pasted a link to my slide show of wedding photos. They are from the Carnival Conquest 04/24/2016. There are many photos from getting ready at the hotel, waiting to board the ship, the ceremony, and the reception. I have photos of the cake and food too!! I hope they help to clear up some questions that some people may have. Enjoy!!

  4. I will be married on the conquest this month! I would love any pictures or advice that you have!!!

Congrats!!! Our ceremony was in the Gallery and the reception was in Vincent's lounge. We boarded the ship at a little after 12 and the first wedding was running behind. From what I heard the bride had only 15 minutes to get dressed. They had the Time to celebrate big. Because we boarded a little late my wedding and ceremony was a little rushed. I was told my reception would be cut short (it was only an hour to begin with) but they ended up making it the normal length supposedly. I was too wrapped up in everything to really know how long it was. All I know is that they didn't get all the way through my CD which was an hour long. If you didn't purchase the Lido lunch your guests can eat anyway. They never checked at the lunch who paid and who didn't or who wasn't sailing. Just have the non sailing guests take off their visitor tags. I have attached just a few photos as I am waiting for more from my photographer. We didn't buy many from carnival. They were so expensive and I brought someone to take my photos. Ill post more as soon as I get them.

  5. Well we just got back from our wedding cruise on the carnival conquest. We were married on the ship on 4/24 in fort Lauderdale. The wedding was beautiful and the cruise was tons of fun. I would love to answer anyone's questions as I know I relied heavily on this forum for my questions!! I can post or email pics if anyone wants.

  6. We are getting so close to our wedding on the Carnival Conquest for April 24!! Everyone has been so accommodating so far! We have been able to choose our officiant and coordinator with TWE and pick our venues with Carnival. All my flowers, decorations, and everything is bought and time to start getting it all together. We started planning this about a year ago and I am getting so excited now that it is close. We are brining favors, a card box, a guest book, a few decorations, our own cake topper, and more. We are doing a lot to make the day special. I plan on doing a full review of everything when we get back!! Stay Tuned!!!

  7. Hello Everyone! I am having my wedding on the Carnival Conquest on April 24 and I was wondering if someone could recommend a wedding coordinator and officiant that did a fantastic job. The Wedding Experience said that we could request someone and I was hoping to do so based on the fact that I have read about some not so great ones. Thank you so much for your help.

  8. We got married on the ship Jan 31. It was amazing and I'll post more later. We were married in the Gallery. If you want fancy, you can bring your own decorations, but it was nice and good enough for us. The reception was in Henri's Dance Club. Our group didn't dance, but we wanted the D.J.. While there we checked out the Degas Lounge and Alfreds (we had read these boards A LOT and wanted to help). We agreed that Alfreds has better décor, but it has a low ceiling that seemed a little odd. Degas is where the comedy show takes place. It's pretty large and impersonal. We agreed we would choose Alfreds. There wasn't any smoke smell there.

That is some very helpful insight. Thank you so much!! We have the Gallery and Alfreds requested for our day. Its nice because they are so close and on the same deck too. I just wish we had the longer reception, but oh well I know it will be a blast regardless. If there is any other advice you have please feel free to share!! :)

  9. Hi everyone!

I am getting closer and closer to my Wedding in April on the Carnival Conquest. I am a huge planner and I plan early so I am already making check lists of what to pack for myself, my fiancé, and our two year old daughter. We have cruised before but it has been a while and never with a child. And Never for a Wedding, which we are having in the port in Ft Lauderdale. Any suggestions or secrets on what you packed, are packing or wish you packed?

Thank you for all your help!!

  10. I finally got to speak with Dinah our wedding coordinator yesterday. I ended up speaking to my Carnival vacation planner and asking about it and he transferred me over to weddings and got her on the line. FINALLY!!

She spent almost 40 minutes on the phone with me answering all my questions and talking to me. She even asked questions about us and about the wedding which made me feel like she actually cares! Dinah stated that due to the overwhelming number of proposals on Christmas and around the holidays they are extremely busy this time of year. She apologized and made me feel better :)

As far as extending our package to the Time to Celebrate Big, she stated they usually only have one wedding officiant on board and that is why they can only do one package. I guess our ceremony would start later since we had the shorter reception. She is reaching out to see if there is any way they can schedule a 2nd officiant to be there that day so that they can accommodate 2 ceremonies starting at the same time.

How much did they charge you to upgrade? I currently have the time to celebrate and also want to upgrade. I'm just curious what the difference in price was

  11. I am getting married on the conquest on the 24th of April and I am super excited and worried. I have heard both good and bad stories about the ceremony's and reception on the ships! I hope all that are getting married will have a good story to share!!

  12. Hello!! I am looking for someone that has had a resent wedding onboard the Carnival Conquest. I am getting married in April on this ship and I had some questions for those that have had a recent experience or just any advice! I would like to know all about it...The room they had your ceremony and reception in and if you recommend it, how much time you had to get ready, if they instructed you on what to do for the wedding party, how the reception was...anything that you can share would be so helpful, the good, the and, the ugly!! Thank you so much!!
