  1. With 299 feet in the cabin and 165 feet balcony you don't need a gimmick to give the perception of more space.

^^^^ While an interesting and attractive concept on first hearing, as I've learned more about Infinite Veranda I do see it more as a gimmick. The real result of the concept is more room in the cabin and little difference in the veranda "experience". Since the Sky Suites (and all other suites for that matter) have more room in the cabin to begin with, an infinite veranda adds little of value so I can easily see why they don't have them for suites.

  2. I think the real intent of the Magic Carpet hasn't yet been fully revealed which makes it look a little dumb. IMO Celebrity hasn't incorporated it and committed to a whole new class of luxury / air conditioned tenders that specifically join with the MC concept for no reason at all. I suspect one intent behind that is to be able to visit more out of the way destinations - ports that today can't accommodate a ship the size of Edge (or any of the Solstice class ships for that matter) and at those ports they will tender guests ashore when the ship can't dock. The ability to raise the MC up to higher decks when not in use for tendering is a by product rather than the real reason for the MC.

  3. We were on a Dec 11 cruise on the Equinox and the "Evening Chic" dress code "started" on cruises departing after Dec 4. On "Formal" nights there were a few men who wore a tux and somewhat more who wore a suit (as I did) or a sport jacket / blazer. We were in the minority though as most dressed pretty much the same as they did on "Smart Casual" nights. You won't be out of place in formal attire but you probably will be in the minority.

I plan to take mostly smart casual attire and perhaps dress it up for Evening Chic with a blazer. Based on the Dec cruise this will pretty much be the norm and I will enjoy packing a bit lighter.
