I don't think they are locals, they are cruise staff welcoming back the travelers to the ship; you don't tip them, as you probably were already charged the tips for the whole duration of your trip already.

Kim, welcome back to CC... needless to say, you were greatly missed here in the boards, and I kept popping in from time to time to see if you had re-appeared and to see if everything was okay. We all missed your amazing reviews, beautiful pictures and witty humor... so, as you have been able to see, we are all very happy to see you here again!

Also, congrats on all the 2018 accomplishments : finishing schooling, your son's new home, another grandson.... (impossible to believe, for such a young gal in age and spirit!... I hope the hubby doesn't get jealous... he's a lucky fellow)... and no wonder you took a break from here, and social media in general. Thanks for coming back, and for sharing your new review with us (those of us who have followed you for a while, know it takes a lot of time and effort to come back and post a review like yours after coming from a cruise, and we really appreciate your efforts)... it's always a delight and an adventure to read them!

Here's a video...while some may claim my photographs are good, I have never claimed to be good at taking videos. Actually I suck. LOL

 

And once again, somehow I ended up with a green video. My hand goes back and forth changing the settings all the time and sometimes I forget which setting to put it on and end up with the wrong one.

 

***edit*** well this is weird...I'm not sure what the videos look for you all but on my computer (the original) the video is crystal clear. But, when I watch it on here with the uploaded youtube, it's super blurry. What are you guys seeing?

Amazing pictures Kim... as usual... and although the dead coral field sure looks creepy, you were able to get some really interesting pics of it! :)

The eel green video looks kinda blurry, but the other one is crystal clear on my screen... btw, I totally agree with the hubby, and I would have slowly backed up from the eel before it got pissed off and decided to reclaim its privacy by any mean :')

A couple of years ago they cancelled on us "Legally Blonde", and replaced it with Vocal Overdrive... unfortunately, it was very disappointing, and one of the reasons of why we decided to give NCL a break

Currently on a bus headed back to the port in St Croix with a bunch of cruise passengers yelling at the driver to step on it. :o

Sakari was getting ready and I was busy watching a lady get in the water and screaming...like seriously screaming, because the waves was pushing her, she steps on a rock, she couldn't get her fins on...it was just complaint after complaint and I kept wondering what she was doing in THIS group. Guess who this lady was.......I'm sure you have figured out it's "Ms Advanced"

Was "Ms. Advanced" wearing beautiful pink fins?... If so, she kinda seems puzzled about how our favorite mermaid handles the water waaaaay better than herl!! :'):'):')

First cruise ever on 5/1/16, DW has cruised before. This is the first NCL cruise for us and both of our first cruise with 2 daughters 12 and 15.

My DW and I have the Ultimate Drink Package promotion. Am I misreading the fact that my wife and I can just walk up and get soft drinks for my kids and then just go somewhere else a couple minutes later and get ourselves a couple cocktails? Thanks in advance

You should purchase the Soda Package for each one of your daughters, lug on board your own soda cartons for them, pay for each soda they drink, or they can just drink the free beverages they have onboard (flavoured teas)

But using your UBP to get drinks for somebody who is not covered by it is dishonest, and your UBP will be cancelled if they find you doing it.

Eh, it's ok. I didn't let it spoil my birthday. We still had an awesome time and the Jade was such a beautiful ship. Don't feel terrible...hey, I got a CRUISE for my birthday. WOO HOO! (I had to laugh when he laid the "vacation hero" card on my bed on the very last night) LOL :p

I love your attitude!... even after that disappointing customer service (or lack of, should I say?) from your room steward, you still focused on the positive, rather than on the negative :)

Your hubby is lucky to have such a gal! :p

What really was missing in the bag (and it wasn't even your fault):

I compared to my receipt. EVERYTHING was there except 1 shirt.

He was clearly on a mission to frustrate you and infuriate you, and in the end it seems he only wanted to ruin your and your family's vacation.

Girl, you'd better officially complaint after that... NCL has been your favourite for decades, and this type of behaviour should not be tolerated... grrr... just reading how he treated you made me mad too :mad:
