  1. I booked my first cruise with MSC last week during the Free Wifi/Free Easy Bev. Pkg. promotion, and I asked the Rep. if I could upgrade to a higher level package.  She told me no.   I was tempted to call back in hopes of getting a different Rep. to ask the same question.  However, I just opted to take the basic cruise fare without the perks, because the Easy Pkg. would be useless for me.

  2. I cruised on the PRIMA (5 nts), solo, in a regular balcony cabin, and paid 100% single supplement.  However, I only received 5 points. I called NCL to inquire, and received the following reply:

Thank you for writing in and choosing Norwegian Cruise Line for your vacation at sea.

Kindly note that our rates are based on double occupancy; therefore, if only 1 person is booked into a category that accommodates two or more individuals, the invoiced rate reflects 200% of the cruise fare. However, points will be issued at the end of the cruise equivalent to the number of days sailed regardless of occupancy in the stateroom. Unfortunately, we are unable to assist with having the points added to your Latitudes account.

We appreciate this opportunity to address your concerns. We trust that our explanation has shed some light on the matter and hope to one day welcome you, your friends, and your family in exploring the world in the safety and comfort of our amazing Norwegian Cruise Line ships.

  3. I have booked a NCL cruise out of NOLA (2/7/20).  The promotion I booked under includes free R/T airfare.  After speaking with NCL, I was informed the return fight must be the day of disembarkment (2/16/20).  Well I want the stay in NOLA another 4 or 5 days to enjoy the Mardi Gras activities.  So, my question is, can I call the day of the return flight and cancel, or just fail to show up for the return flight.

  5. I totally agree about the dining changes. I loved the old traditional multi level dining rooms with with the beautiful chandeliers, and I especially loved dining on formal nights. Now I don’t bother bringing

formal wear. It’s just not the same.

It’s a shame RCCL followed the NCL dining concept. However, for some reason it seems to work for me on NCL.

  6. This is such a turn off for me. If I could cancel my 2/25/18 anthem sailing, I would! I haven’t sailed rccl since the quantum was in New Jersey, which I thought was a beautiful ship, but something was just missing for me. I vowed not to bother sailing on Anthem ( I achieved D+ status sailing on the voyager and explorer out of Bayonne, btw). Last year, I started to miss being on a cruise ship, and against my better mind, booked on anthem. Now this! Makes me wonder, What’s next?

  7. Disneycruisers, I agree with you 100 percent. Food I have experienced on the Breakaway is superior to anything I've had on any Rccl. ship

For us, the food was much better (dining rooms, and buffet) on NCL and Carnival (Carnival has Guy's Burgers and Fries! :))

However, we like that RCI sails to Costa Maya (our favorite western port,) out of Galveston.

NCL has incredible drop slides and their freestyle dining is very under-rated. They have the best (and most frequent) deals on drink packages.

I'd be happy with any of them. Good luck deciding!:)

  8. I booked spa passes for the 1/31/16 Breakaway sailing on Monday. I had to call NCL to book because I couldn't get pass the credit card info screen on the website. Paid 299.00 for each pass, no additional charges were added.

  9. At this time, I'm not recommending RCCL to others. In my opinion, they're just not living up to all the "WOW" hype! In fact, it seems the WOW of cruising with RCCL has diminished in the past few years. I was on a 12 day on QOS in March, and although it wasn't a bad cruise, it just seemed like something from the RCCL experience was missing.

My next cruise is with NCL; 14 days on the Breakaway (8 ports) in a Mini Suite with the free drink package for $1717 US, WOW!

    D+ with RCCL btw.

  10. Just off the Quantum, and Dh and I used our 3 drink daily allowance (6 total) for bottles of beer,(one trip daily). After the first day, the bartender never asked for our cards, said he remembered our numbers. Not sure how he did it, but the 6 drinks were recorded each day on our account as $0.

This was very convenient for us, because I brought a small cooler on board, which we kept filled with ice. So nice to sit on our lovely balcony, and be able to grab an ice cold beer from the cooler.

I love this RC perk, such I nice courtous gesture to us loyals. Hardly ever took the long trek to the concierge lounge.
